Can this be assembled with the square holes to the front and back? For mounting components with cage nuts?
anthony  Nov 05, 2021

Yes. You can assemble this with the square holes to the front and use cage nuts.
james  Nov 18, 2021
Both surfaces, (sides/front-rear) have a center to center hole spacing of 18 5/16. And the cabinet is square, so I would say yes.
william j.  Nov 08, 2021
Can this rack be installed in a custom cabinet?
mahesh  Nov 28, 2020

Yes, provided the dimensions fit. Has plenty of mounting holes and is pretty versatile.
mark soo  Dec 07, 2020
As long as it fits, I don't see why not. I installed mine inside a cabinet as well. I am very happy with he purchase. It is of great quality and well made.
victor  Dec 07, 2020
As long as the cabinet has enough clearance space, I don't see why not.
micha  Dec 07, 2020
I have castors for this. Can I put the feet on and then add the rollers, or do I have to use one or the other (either the feel or castors/rollers)? Thanks!

One or the other I don't see any way for both
peter a  May 05, 2020
it's one or the other. you can get decent castors at the hardware store to keep your options open.
steve  May 05, 2020
Can only use one or the other. My rack is fully loaded and over 200 lbs so used the feet as it sat on carpet; to prevent sinking into carpet used a 2x2'x0.5" sheet of MDF. Recently moved so now sits on a hard surface floor but can't find rollers to switch! Advice tape either rollers/feet inside rear of rack to prevent misplacement.
randall  May 05, 2020
can you put a turntable on this (at the top)?
hemant  Mar 07, 2020

If you put a shelf at the top. There isn't a "top".
geoff  Mar 07, 2020
Since it is all coated, is there an exposed grounding tab to ground isolate the rack?
michael j.  Oct 20, 2019

There is no grounding tab but with very little effort and the appropriate hardware you could easily create one!
randall  Oct 29, 2019
Hi Michael, thank you for your question. The Sanus CFR1620 does not have a grounding tab, but you are able to ground your components to a location that you have sanded the coating from. Chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695 if you have any other questions. They will be happy to assist.
jessica  Oct 28, 2019 (Staff)
The legs are solid steel and accessible for grounding.
michael  Oct 28, 2019
no, i had to determine where i wanted to "apply" my grounding and sand that one screw hole on the surface.

How many blanking panels are included with the rack and what is the finish (e.g., black powder coat or black brushed and anodized)?
jason  Feb 18, 2016

There are no blank panels. Its just a 4 post open rack. Mine isn't a matte black but also isn't shiny. Kind of in between.
chris  Feb 19, 2016
Two bins and The finish is black powder coat.
jose a.  Feb 19, 2016
None were supplied and all parts are coated....

How many shelves comes with the Sanus CFR1620?
mark  Dec 29, 2015
2 answers
It came with 2 shelves. One single rack space shelf and one double rack space shelf. I purchased additional shelves only to find out that many of my components were rack mount. Be sure you have enough screws and I recommend the caster set if your rack is in a closet
john c.  Jan 03, 2016
This unit includes 2 shelves. Additional component shelves are available for purchase.

I have a cfr1620 sands rack and I need more space. Which stackable racks will work with this?
robert  May 23, 2015

Bob I'm not sure if your asking about shelves that you can add or if you want another rack to put on this one. Let me know and I will try and help you out.
hank  May 30, 2015
Bob -- The CFR1615 works for this purposes. Depending on how much vertical space you have, you could also stack another CFR1620 on top of your existing one. Personally, I have a 1615 stacked on top of a 1620.
ioannis  May 25, 2015
Does this rack have square holes or round threaded holes? BTW, I'd like the square holes.
terry  Mar 05, 2015

Terry -- Not sure which holes you're referring to. If you mean the holes in the front of the frame of the rack that you use to attach the shelves, then they are round and threaded.
ioannis  Mar 09, 2015
The trays have round threaded holes.
laurance  Mar 08, 2015
It has threaded holes on front and square holes on the sides. Hope this helps, Hank
hank  Mar 06, 2015
Threaded holes for the shelf fasteners front and back, with square holes on the sides.
richard  Mar 06, 2015
Uprights have round holes in front and square holes on side
william  Mar 06, 2015
The shelf holes are approximately 1/2"wide by 3" long. They cover approximately half of the shelf area. Hope this helps
