I needed something to add an outlet two a two-plug wall outlet. One of the items I needed to plug in was a printer. So, a power surge protector was the obvious choice. With the Sanus SA-OWSP42 I not only have what I need but I now have additional outlets plus the added convenance to charge my phone and other devices plus the swivel action makes it even more functional. These units are big and heavy (but not too much so), compared to cheaper units. So that means they are very well made. As with all surge protectors the true test is when you get an electrical surge. I hope that never happens, but I feel better with this unit as protection.

An excellent buy in surge protection!

Our new Surge Protector arrived when it was supposed to, opened the box, read instructions and plugged it in. Attached power cord for Tuner/Ampliifier, CD player, and Fan System (Turntable is powered from Tuner.) It has worked for four day perfectly. The Surge Protector earned it's place in the top five list. Now we just have to wait 4 months for storm season to see if it passes it's big test.
Pros: Very little protrusion from Wall. Easy to install and very easy to position directional plug receptacles.
Cons: No feature for protection of flow from FM Antenna, but there may be a way.

Great surge protector!

I carefully reviewed the features and specs of this surge protector against similar models and decided this was the best value. It is highly recommended by Crutchfield as well. It arrived well packaged and was very easy to install. Although I anticipate only using one of the outlets--for my CD player--also purchased from Crutchfield, this device provides the protection I need as well as filters to enhance the sound from my player. Another wonderful buying experience from Crutchfield!

Nice 4 outlet surge protector

The Sanus SA-OWSP42 surge protector surprised me by having a screw to secure the protector to the "outlet box". I don't know why manufacturers keep making ones that don't secure to the outlet box. Oh yeh, because they don't want to get sued when some dope electrocutes themselves. Seriously, these are not that hard to install. That being said, the rotatable outlets work great so far. Perfect for my needs. I'd recommend it. I can't comment on durability or surge protection since I have owned it for only 1 month so far. The USB ports are a bonus that I probably won't use for my application.
Pros: Rotating outlets. Screws into the outlet box to secure the surge protector in place.
Cons: None so far.

just what I was looking for. Less clutter than a large power strip this looks great on the wall. Love the flipping outlets, makes connecting easy and clean. Plus it blocks EMI/RFI! Highly recommended.
