About the Sanus VLT6

Ralph Graves

Go full-tilt, even with a big TV

The Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt Premium wall mount offers something extraordinary — it lets you take advantage of its full tilt range, even when mounting larger TVs up to 90" in screen size. With traditional tilt mounts, larger TVs can hit the wall, limiting the mount's range of motion. But the VLT6 features built-in extenders that provide an additional 5-3/4" clearance behind your set.

Extra room for making connections

Not only are the extenders handy for positioning your TV, but they help with installation. Rather than having to remove your mounted TV to connect new gear, just tilt it up. There's plenty of room to reach back behind your set and connect those cables.

A safe design for mounting

Once you've secured the wall plate to the wall and attached the brackets to your TV, the whole TV assembly just slides into position. A safety lock that closes with an audible click to let you know it's securely in place. The TV assembly can be shifted slightly left or right on the wall plate. So even if your wall studs are off-center, your TV doesn't have to be. And you can level your set after installation.

Features

TV Capacity: The Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt Premium Wall Mount is designed to support flat-panel TVs from 46" to 90", weighing up to 150 lbs.

VESA Mount Bolt Pattern: The VLT6's TV bracket consists of two vertical brackets with multiple slots that can accommodate a vertical hole spacing of 100mm-415mm on back of your TV. The vertical brackets slide along the VLT6's horizontal wall bracket, accommodating a horizontal hole spacing of 200mm-690mm on back of your television. The Sanus VLT6 comes with M6 & M8 size bolts of differing lengths to mount the bracket to your TV. Given the mounting bracket's range of motion, it will accommodate the following VESA hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association:

  • 200mm x 100mm
  • 200mm x 200mm
  • 300mm x 200mm
  • 300mm x 300mm
  • 400mm x 300mm
  • 400mm x 400mm
  • 500mm x 300mm
  • 500mm x 400mm
  • 600mm x 300mm
  • 600mm x 400mm
Note: Additional hardware may be required for your specific model of TV. For example; shorter or longer screws, thicker or slimmer washers or spacers. These additional accessories can often be found at your local hardware store.

Tilt Mechanism: The Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt Premium Wall Mount lets you tilt your television up 7° or down 12°. It positions your TV 2.75" from the wall and offers 5.75" of extension.

5.75" of Extension: The Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt Premium TV Wall Mount features a revolutionary design, providing 5.75" of extension on a tilting mount. The extension allows even the largest of TVs to achieve the maximum listed tilt range. Large TVs installed on traditional tilting mounts often hit the wall, limiting the maximum tilt that can be achieved. The VLT6 solves this issue by extending from the wall, offering TVs a larger tilt range. More tilt translates to better glare reduction. This makes the VLT6 the go-to tilting mount for all above-eye-level mounting locations, like over the fireplace. Additionally, because the mount can extend the TV 5.75" from the wall, cables and wires can be accessed quickly and easily while the TV is still mounted. This makes the initial hook-up and future device switches a quicker and easier process.

Open Wall Plate: An open wall plate design allows the VLT6 to be mounted directly over electrical outlets for a super clean installation. The VLT6's wall plate must be mounted to wall studs or anchored to a solid concrete or concrete block wall using the supplied lag bolts (and wall-anchors). The slots in the wall plate can accommodate a variety of stud spacing, allowing you to easily mount the VLT6 to wall studs that are 16" or 24" on center.

Perfect Positioning: Centering the TV, even with off-center studs, is no longer an issue due to the side-to-side shift. Post-installation height and level adjustments make fine-tuning quick and easy for a perfectly level TV.

Safety Tabs: Once the wall plate is anchored to the wall studs and the two TV brackets are attached to the back of your television, the two TV brackets hook into the wall bracket. Integrated safety tabs on the TV brackets provide a safe and easy connection to the wall bracket you can hear. These safety tabs also allow you to easily remove the TV and TV brackets from the wall plate.

Construction: The Sanus VLT6 Advanced Tilt Premium TV Wall Mount is constructed of heavy-gauge steel and high-impact plastic with a durable powder-coated black finish.

Installation Tools: The following tools are recommended for mounting the VLT6:

  • Tape measure
  • Stud finder
  • Level
  • Drill
  • Drill bits (7/32" for wood, 3/8" for concrete, or 1/2" for steel)
  • Socket wrenches (7/16" & 1/2")
  • Phillips-Head Screw driver
  • Awl
  • Pencil

Optional Streaming Device Panel: Compatibility with the SASP1 streaming device panel (sold separately) means that even streaming devices can be hidden behind the TV for the ultimate installation

Optional Padlock: The ability to padlock the TV to the mount for additional safety or security means this can be used in private or public settings without worry. Padlock sold separately.

How much is the vertical adjustment of the TV - up and down? Says it can be adjusted but doesn't say how many inches it can be moved.

Q
Do the extenders adjust back and forth so I can have the TV flush with the wall or fully extended for tilting? The pictures only show the extenders fully extended, and I want to make sure it adjusts back for zero extension when wanted.

A
Yes you can push it back toward the wall , of course it will still be a few inches from the wall due to the depth of the mount itself , so it can't really be "flush" as you say unless you have an inset in your wall (and a sufficiently deep wall)

Q
Wall Plate is level, but once mounted tv is not level. How to fix?

A
There are adjustment screws That can be accessed from the top once the tv is hung to level again.
harry  Jan 01, 2021
A
There are adjustment screws on each vertical support to level the TV after mounting onto the wall plate. Turn the screw to raise or lower either side. This feature allows you to level the TV even if the wall plate is not exactly level.
ronald  Dec 31, 2020
A
There is a Philips head screw at the top of the TV bracket (in a vertical direction), you have turn the one that will assist you in making the TV level. You can make the change while the tv is mounted. Hope this helps!

Q
how do I take a tv off a sanus tilting wall mount?

A
There is a pull tab on each vertical mount. In the photo, they have the circle on the bottom. Then pull the bottom away from the wall and lift up.
robert  Aug 22, 2018
A
If you mean take the tv off of the wall, you pull the rings on the bottom of the tv. With them pulled, tilt the tv upward. lift the tv up and it should come off. Taking the tv off of the wall mount you need to remove the brackets that are held on by bolts.
