Sharp Pictures

Robert from Waleska, GA on 6/13/2024

Camera takes incredibly great pictures. You will need a card with it. I love how you use the app to upload the pictures to my phone so I can save them in another platform. It does take some practice and reading to find the correct icon for picture taking. Lots of features. I can use my lenses from my D3300.

Pros: Huge picture view. Sharp images. Takes amazing pictures.

Cons: Need tutorials. The icons are completely different from the older Nikons. Incredibly expensive for not getting new lenses, card , and case. Should come with 2 batteries.

D 7500 "Open box" purchase

William from Livingston, TX on 5/11/2024

I wanted to upgrade form my Nikon D70, so I purchased a D7500 that was advertised as an "opened box" camera, but it was actually a camera that was returned within Crutchfield's 60-day return policy. All this was disclosed up front, but I was still concerned as to how much the camera was used by the previous owner. When I received the camera I checked the shutter count and found out it had only 122 actuations! I couldn't be more pleased with this camera. It is practically new and I received a full Nikon warranty plus Crutchfield's lifetime technical support and I saved me a little $$$.

I have been a Nikon user for years. This camera did not disappoint me. Great new features. You do need to a little "homework" on some of the features.

Pros: Ease of use.

Cons: None so far.

D7500 is Great

This purchase was to replace my D7200 which has served me well, trouble-free, for seven years. With a shelf-full of Nikon F-mount APS-C lenses in my closet, I wasn't ready, nor willing, to make the switch to mirrorless. The D7500 is a worthy improvement over the earlier D7xxx models. First thing I noticed out of the box was the lighter weight and thinner body compared to the D7100 and D7200 (both of which I owned). One-handed carry on the D7500 is a breeze with the deeper grip. Shooting performance? Better than the D7200 - AF is faster and more accurate, metering is more precise in matrix-mode (what I usually use for landscape shots) and images are crisper. I shoot in RAW and saw that less sharpening in post was needed for best results of similar shots I had done previously with the D7200. The tilting/touch screen is a great improvement and adds versatility. And finally. Happy 50th Anniversary to Crutchfield! Congratulations and thanks for your great service.

Pros: Ergonomics and performance are excellent.

Nikon D 7500

Wonderful camera. Huge upgrade for me coming from a D40x. I'm a hobbyist but have spent a lot of time learning how to take better photos and just shooting a lot. I have it paired with a Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 lens and the ability to capture action shots in low light is amazing.

With all the talk about the demise of the DSLR I decided to upgrade from my D7000 to the D7500 while Nikon still had the D7500 available. Very glad I didn't. While there are many similarities the D7500 clearly takes it to another level. Wireless transfer of photos, tilting LCD screen, touch screen, increased MP and increased video resolution are just some of the main differences and added features that are part of the D7500 make up. With all the buzz of mirrorless cameras in the news I still felt as an enthusiast the DSLR will continue to be camera of choice for the very foreseeable future.

Pros: Mentioned in the review

Cons: None that I have come across

Nice upgrade from previous cameras in the series.

This is the first Nikon in the D7xxx series that has an all carbon fiber body. It's strong but also a little lighter than previous cameras in the series. I also have a D500 and D750 that have a magnesium body. When I first picked up the D7500, it felt warm to the touch. It's just that the carbon fiber doesn't draw heat away from your hand as a metal like magnesium does. This camera has the same sensor as the flagship DX camera - the D500. It's an excellent sensor with a wide dynamic range. It would be nice to have dual memory card slots like the previous D7xxx series cameras but it's not a problem. I've never had an SD memory card fail. The latest Nikon cameras have a ISO button right behind the shutter button. Changing ISO settings is faster and more convenient than before. The video record can be re-programmed to activate Mode. The Fn1 and Fn2 buttons can be programmed to carry out a variety of functions. With that set up, you really don't need to go into the menus when out doing photography.

Pros: Excellent sensor Its carbon fiber construction is strong yet lightweight They've added the Group-area autofocus mode to the excellent 51-point autofocus system It inherited the automatic AF fine tuning function of the D500

Cons: It would be nice to have two memory card slots but it's not important as SD memory cards are extremely reliable It's not compatible with an optional battery grip

This is a great camera, a slimmed-down version of the D500. Focus is fast and the layout of the controls/buttons makes sense. It's a tremendous leap forward from my D5500.

Pros: Quality image sensor Fast focus acquisition

Cons: Grip a bit big for small hands. (Too big for mine.)

I went from a d5500 over to this d7500 and I must say... I am so happy I did! Huge upgrade and weather sealing to boot as well. Crutchfield delivered the product very fast and is a joy to work with. 5 stars!!

Pros: Espeed 5 sensor, weather sealing, fast shutter speed, compact.

Cons: Well its not the d500 but the price is great!

I have only had this camera for a short time but I am very impressed with it. I replaced my D5300 with the D7500 and I was shocked at the increase in picture quality! Autofocus is also an order of magnitude improvement over the D5300. Overall I am very impressed with the D7500 and very happy with the purchase and Crutchfield.

Pros: Picture quality Autofocus Overall excellent camera

Cons: expensive
