Product Research

Features

Overview: The Nikon Monarch 2000 6 x 21 Laser Rangefinder can be a valuable tool for numerous outdoor activities, including shooting, hunting, and golf. With the press of a button, the Monarch 2000 can give you accurate distance measurements up to 2000 yards. The rangefinder features advanced technologies, such as Tru-Target and ID Technology. The unit is compact and lightweight, with a durable rainproof finish for a non-slip grip. The Monarch 2000 is powered by a 3-volt Lithium battery (included), and comes with a handy storage case that can be worn on the belt or clipped to your bag. The rangefinder is covered by Nikon's 5-year limited warranty.

ID (Incline/Decline) Technology: The Monarch 2000 uses Nikon's advanced Incline/Decline (ID) Technology to measure both the horizontal distance and the actual distance to the target, even when ranging at uphill or downhill angles. The rangefinder automatically detects whether the shot is on an incline or decline and adds or subtracts yardage based on the slope. The slope-adjusted distance is equal to the horizontal distance ± height. It makes the Monarch 2000 a valuable tool for rifle or bow hunting, as well as golfing. Using the Mode button, Horizontal Distance Mode (with ID Technology enabled) can be turned off, if desired, so you can see the actual distance display, and use the device during tournament play in compliance with USGA Local Rule 14-3.

Tru-Target: Ranging for distant targets is sometimes difficult when having to shoot through grass or leaves. Tru-Target technology allows you to switch between First Target and Distant Target modes. When you have overlapping subjects, First Target Priority mode displays the distance of the closest subject, and Distant Target Priority mode displays the distance to the farthest subject. With Nikon's measurement conditions, maximum distances have been determined for different subjects: deer - 1100 yards, tree - 1200 yards, reflective subject - 2000 yards.

One Button Operation: The Monarch 2000 laser rangefinder gives you fast and simple measurements by pressing the top-mounted power button. The unit emits invisible, eye-safe infrared energy pulses (EN/IEC Class 1M Laser) that reflect off of the selected target back to its optical receiver. The distance is instantly calculated and displayed on an internal OLED panel. Pressing the power button once starts a single measurement, while pressing and holding the button starts continuous measurements. If measurement fails, measurement continues for up to approximately 4 seconds (8 seconds for continuous) until results are obtained.

Internal Display Luminance: You can adjust the brightness of the internal display, either manually or automatically. At the factory, the rangefinder is set to "IL A" for automatic brightness control. In the menu, the luminance can be set to any of 5 manual brightness settings: IL 1 to IL 5. To temporarily change the internal display luminance, you can continually press the Mode button to the setting you desire. When the unit is turned off, the internal display returns to the original luminance.

Nikon Optics: The Monarch 2000 uses Nikon glass and multicoating technology to give you clear views with high contrast.

Diopter Ring: The viewfinder has a diopter ring for adjusting the rangefinder to your eyesight. A diopter index indicates "+" and "-" positions.

Eye Relief: The Monarch 2000's eyepiece provides a long 18mm eye relief for easy viewing, even with eyeglasses.

Distance Measurements: Distances from 8 to 2000 yards are measured in 0.1-yard increments, or 7.3 to 1820 meters in 0.1 meter increments. You can switch the units of measurement from yards to meters by pressing the top-mounted Mode button.

Weatherproof Design: The Monarch 2000 has a weatherproof design (IPX4) so you can use it in wet conditions. It is waterproof up to 1 meter for 10 minutes. The unit is equipped with O-ring seals to prevent moisture from entering the body. In addition, the rangefinder's internal cavity is purged using nitrogen gas to prevent fogging and thermal shock.

Power Requirements: The Monarch 2000 operates on a single 3-volt CR-2 Lithium battery (included). Battery status is displayed in the viewfinder during normal operations. A new CR-2 battery has enough energy to perform continuous measurements approximately 8,500 times.
