Makes the Nikon Z50 work -- it is necessary to have a back up. Reliable OEM battery. Works with charger included with camera. As always Crutchfield packed it well and shipped it safely with UPS.

Currently very few to no options for Nikon Z50 batteries so this was great to see available since even the Nikon brand is hard to locate at times. This item worked perfectly as expected and with the slight price break, it was well well worth it to buy name branded. Shipped quickly and nicely packed and what you would expect from a name like Crutchfield.

Not a good design - short working period before recharging

This battery is for the Nikon Z50, the new mirrorless camera. The battery is horribly expensive - and it fits just the Z50. Shame on Nikon for doing that. The battery life is not all that great - that has more to do with the camera and all the functions they fit into it. You will absolutely need a second or third battery if you are going to take a bunch of photos or shoot videos. Another complaint I have is the design of the battery - you will NEED to have the plastic end piece to put over it since the battery has slots that protrude from the side and can break. The camera is new enough that third party companies have not made replacement batteries yet - which would, usually, drop the price. I will say this - I use the Z50 (and batteries - plural) to shoot swim meets and indoor soccer games, as the camera takes better shots at higher ISO than my older Nikon cameras. But as stated before - you will need more than 1 battery for any sort of extended shooting period.
