Works great

I recently bought a Teac with removeable headshell. It kind of reminded me of turntables from years gone by plus it didn't look half bad either. Back in the day when there was a brick and mortar hifi shop around every corner whenever I needed a new cartridge I just let them do the set up, it ain't that way anymore. I switched from a Sumiko Oyster to an Olympia but wanted to leave the Oyster on it's own headshell that way it would be easy to switch back and forth, just have to adjust tracking because the Olympia is a little over a gram heavier. This was the first time I had ever done anything like this and I believe this headshell made it just that much easier. I really appreciate Crutchfield for having all these things on hand and the articles and videos to help one DIY it's great!

Purchased this as a spare for a Technic's Sl1200 MKII This was half the price of a Teschnics headshell and it functions just as well. Wires seem to be as good as original, pins are not gold they are silver, not sure if silver plated?

This headshell is used in the AT-LP120-USB and or other AT tables, which I got last year from Crutchfield. It's Made in Japan. That means it's best, being made in Japan. My SL-1600 table uses a higher end headshell that has gold contacts. Color black. And the SL-1600 is a Matsushita table. Or better known as Panasonic. That's what Audio-Technica is, Panasonic. Anyway... I am replacing the AT95 cartridge that came with the LP-120 with some higher quality AT cartridges. For the money this AT-HS1 is excellent. You'll be able to mount your cartridge without any problems. When given the chance I will review the LP120 I got here last year at Crutchfield and a secret to share about that table that most don't know about. There's nothing better then an AT product, and furthermore buying that product from Crutchfield.
Pros: It's an AT!
Cons: Not free!!! :)
