Brackets are useless on 80's gm
Greg from Montclair, NJ on 11/13/2023
1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Plastic brackets are useless and do not fit (86 Monte Carlo) I reused the factory metal ones and had to tweak those slightly but they worked. Harness is at least color coded to match the factory wiring so it makes the splice and solder job relatively brainless.
Pros:
Cons: Plastic brackets do not fit an 86 Monte Carlo

Did not fit properly
Crutchfield customer from Renton, WA on 9/17/2020
1988 Pontiac Fiero
The brackets did not fit my 1988 Pontiac Fiero and the instructions were non-existent.
Pros: Once I was able to figure out the wiring, which I had to cut and splice myself, it was fine.
Cons: Bracket did not fit my vehicle.

RetroSound 264-660 Installation Package
Porter from Hunt Valley, MD on 12/8/2017
Brackets not used. Used metal bracket from original radio. Wired vehicle adapter cable direct to Newport radio main harness and eliminated middle cable adapter.
Pros: Vehicle adapter cable eliminates modifications to original vehicle wiring
Cons: Cheap plastic mounting brackets
