A tough little speaker on steroids!
Jeff from Palatine, IL on 1/18/2025
1963 Chevrolet Impala
It's a tough little speaker that gives you great sound, especially with the retro hook up that you're able to do with it. You almost can't tell there is only one speaker!

Fits a 1975 Volkswagen bus
Michael from Winter Park, FL on 5/26/2024
1975 Volkswagen BUS
This speaker is a perfect fit for my 1975 bay window Volkswagen bus. The holes in the speaker match up with the tabs that held the original speaker in. All I did was flatten out the tabs and drill holes to install the new speaker. Works great!

Speaker sounds better than I anticipated, especially since it's the only speaker in my 55 Chevy truck. Price was great too.

Great little speaker
Crutchfield customer from Saint Louis, MO on 3/4/2023
We were pleasantly SUPRISED by the quantity & quality of the sound that this speaker produced. We even noticed a little stereo effect with just the one speaker mounted in the dash of a 1977 Ford Bronco. We did have to use spacers on the mounting screws, so the tweeters wouldn't hit the luvers on the dash.
Pros: Fit the '77 Bronco's dash perfectly,
Cons: Had to use mounting spacers so the tweeters wouldn't hit the luvers.

Speaker for 1979 Jeep CJ5
David from Burlington, WI on 8/29/2022
You don't have a lot of options when it comes to installing a speaker in a 1979 Jeep CJ5 as there was only one speaker behind the dash when it rolled out of the factory. This worked perfectly fit right in the stock location and sounds excellent along with two 6x9 kicker speakers in the back installed in speaker boxes.

RetroSound D-52UK Dash Speaker

1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
Fit well in my 1973 karmann ghia and allowed me to finally be able to hook up the radio I bought a yr ago. I did have to drop the wiper assembly in order to install the screws. I was replacing an aftermarket speaker, so someone had already drilled in new holes with self tapping screws that matched this new speaker. I had to use longer screws though.
Pros: Good price, free shipping, dual voice coil.
Cons: None, know going in you will want to add speakers in the cabin for a better stereo and louder experience.

Great for early first gen Broncos
Randy from WAIPAHU, HI on 9/23/2021
1973 Ford Bronco
Fit our 1973 Bronco but needed 1/2" spacers on each tab to so the tweeters wouldn't hit dash. They sound OK for it's size but got better lows/response using a foam baffle.
Pros: dual voice coil, sound quality, fit
Cons: tweeters hit grill on dash if mounted from behind and need spacers

Great sound you would never know it's one small speaker. I had no space to add speakers. But still was able to keep my stock dash and look. It fit in the space I had.
Pros: Space and sound
Cons: None yet

perfectly inconspicuous
Jon from Longmont, CO on 8/26/2017
1975 Ford Bronco
I'm pretty amazed by how good this speaker sounds by itself. Before this, I had some old speakers cut into the doors of my '75 Bronco that I couldn't hear and some old 6x9s in portable boxes in the back. This alone sounds better than the previous combination. You're not going to win any bass competitions. But you will hear your music at speed even with the doors off! I've paired with with a RetroSound Huntington HU. I put a piece of fabric in front of it to help keep dust out and bought some stainless screws to match the rest of my dash (not in the picture).
Pros: functional invisible-ish
Cons: none yet

A little tinny sounding
andrew from kalispell, MT on 3/11/2016
1975 Ford Bronco
The speaker is very tinny sounding and probably mimics the original equipment but if you're expecting this to sound anything but high pitched you may want to go another route. That being said it did bolt in exactly to the factory holes in my vintage bronco dash and their radio was easy to install and creamy marked wires made for easy hookup.

Perfect Fit for VW Ghia
AdamK from California on 9/27/2015
This speaker is an exact fit for the dash speaker in a VW Karmann Ghia and sounds pretty good for what it is. Note it is a dual voice coil, 4-ohm speaker to provide stereo imaging for modern radios, but can also be wired as an 8-ohm mono speaker for original VW Sapphire radios by simply bridging the + and - terminals on one of the channels.
Pros: Perfect replacement size for VW Ghia, decent sound, poly cone, 2-way, dual-voice, great price
Cons: None for what it is. This is a decent dash speaker but don't expect amazing sound from this speaker alone.

VW Bus
Kevin from Florida on 8/26/2015
I bought this to go in the stock dash location on my 1971 VW Bus. I had the dealer stock speaker bracket and this fit perfect with very little modification to the wire bale that holds the speaker in place. This is wired to a Sapphire XIX radio I recently acquired. Sound is good even coming out of this old stereo. This is a '71 VW Bus so the sound is not the greatest while traveling. But around town, at lower speeds, it works and sounds just fine for what I need and was looking for.
Pros: Good for older, single speaker systems for that stereo sound.
Cons: None yet that I have come across.
