RetroSound R-452N
Michael from Danbury, CT on 8/12/2023
2022 Jeep Gladiator
Sound ok but not an ideal fit for Jeep Gladiator replacing the stock woofers in the rollbar.
Pros: Sounds fine and is compatible. Better than original stock speakers.
Cons: 4 mounting tabs do not align with the 3 tabs of the stock units. The accessory hardware provided required serious modification to the plastic housing in the rollbar.

Returning purchase. The speakers did not fit knee pods on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Factory speakers have three tabs and the Jeep speaker pod (knee) design didn't allow these speakers to fit flush. The sound quality is unknown; I never hooked them up.

These speakers fit perfectly in my 1995 Honda Street Van front doors. They are of much better sound quality and a shorter overall depth than the cheaper speakers others have used in their Acty trucks and vans. These fit into the Honda OEM rubber cones. They sound great for 4" speakers. I paired them with 6.5" rears in the back of the van and we are enjoying the retro 1995 feel.

Sad little speaker - meant to replace my 4x6 dash speakers - not much better than the stock speaker - with a really high price - will go with online recommendations for a much better speaker (Infinitiy/Fosgate /Polk, etc) - very disappointed in Crutchfield - since the Retro was the only speaker they had listed for my application - and there are many others that will fit this spot...

1999 Porsche 911 Rear Speakers

1999 Porsche 911 Carrera
With a little bit of modification these speakers fit into the rear side panel of my 1999 Porsche 911 C4 Cabriolet. They were one of two speakers available from Crutchfield as modified fits, the big difference was in prie $80 as opposed to $750.
Pros: Fit with minor modifications.
Cons: Can't handle booming bass but can live with it considering the price.

Good Porsche 911 Rear Speaker Replacement Choice
Crutchfield customer from Columbus, OH on 6/5/2019
1999 Porsche 911 Carrera
These speakers are OK, but expensive for the performance. In my case they were the only option that fits, so this was the best speaker that I could use within my budget. Quality is of the speakers themselves is good, but the sound quality is on the weak side as expected.
Pros: Fit in the rear of my Porsche 911 Cabrio. The thin design works in this application.
Cons: Expensive for the size and performance.

RetroSound for 2000 Nissan Frontier

Perfectly fine replacement for factory speakers. I needed speakers with a shallow depth for a 2000 Nissan Frontier (back door). These sound good, not great but at 4 inches what can you expect.
Pros: Shallow mount depth, sounds good
Cons: Doesn't sound great

I had bought these about 2-3 years ago. They were not great and didn't notice a difference in sound at all but decided to keep them because the ones I was replacing were originals from my 76 450sl Mercedes. Shoudn't have. Now black Friday searching for black Friday deals , few years later, I looked to try to remember what I had installed (because I don't remember) and the metal was apart from the rubber woofer surround. poor quality for the money. buying pioneers black Friday deal for dirt cheap to replace.

Powerful sound for such a small speaker. Was a nice upgrade to my stock speakers. Put them in my Cheverlot Aveo. Used the Crutchfield guide to get the perfect fit speaker for my car. Thanks Crutchfield. Another amazing job... I also got rubber speaker molds fit perfectly.
Pros: Perfect fit Big sound from a small speaker Handles lots of power for its size

Can't be choosy when you have but one choice, that said it was a tight fit but am glad someone made the speaker. Well built, sounds fine.
Pros: Its your only choice for rear door on 2000 frontier nissan
Cons: little more instruction in door panel disassembly

Only use if you have to
Shindog from Santa Fe, NM on 12/27/2011
2000 Nissan Frontier
I replaced my stock speakers (2000 Frontier) with these expecting a significant improvement in sound quality. There was no difference. In fact when I had only 1 speaker in I played with the balance and couldn't tell a difference. I thought about taking these out and returning them, but the stock speakers were about ten years old. I decided to keep them, thinking I would eventually have to replace the others. I would only buy these if I wanted a speaker to fit in a stock location, that required a very thin speaker. A better option would be to modify the speaker location and go with a different product.
Pros: It fit the stock location without modification.
Cons: Poor sound quality.

Decent sound quality for the price
venturescott from Cary, NC on 6/6/2011
I replaced the factory speakers on my '86 Yamaha Venture with these speakers. Overall I'm pleased with the sound from them. I had to turn the treble all the way up because of the amount of bass that these speakers can handle. They were making things vibrate on the fairing of the bike because of all the bass! They would probably sound very good in a car installation because the treble is very crisp too. Definitely a full range speaker.
