An in-dash mirror for your phone

What you'll need for DualMirror

With your smartphone connected, you'll see your apps in action on the receiver's display. You can check out turn-by-turn directions from your navigation apps, as well as artist and track info from your music apps. And with Android™ phones, you can control your phone's function by using the Axxera's touchscreen controls.

You'll be able to carry on hands-free phone conversations using the receiver's microphone, strategically built into the front of the receiver for a simpler installation. And it'll work with most phones for wireless streaming audio, including displaying ID3 tags from your music files, so you can see album, artist, and song title info while on the go.

    Touchscreen & Remote Control

6.2" LCD Touchscreen: The Axxera AV6337MB features a 6.2" LCD touchscreen monitor (800x480) with LED backlighting. This unit's touchscreen controls with interactive video graphics make menu navigation simple and intuitive. You can adjust the screen's brightness, color, contrast, and tint levels. You can also select from three different wallpapers/backgrounds.

Note: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In order to display video, the pink wire of the included harness must be hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's parking brake must be engaged. However, mirroring your smartphone through the head unit's DualMirror feature can be done with or without the parking brake engaged.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touchscreen controls, the Axxera receiver also features hard-key controls on the left edge of the screen; including a 3-way rotary dial.

Variable Color Illumination: Offering over 16 million color combinations, the head unit's RGB feature allows you to customize the color illumination for the receiver's hard-key buttons and on-screen icons. Now you'll be able to match the receiver's illumination to your vehicle's interior lighting, or create a color that fits your mood.

IR Remote: The Axxera AV6337MB comes supplied with a 40-button IR remote control which provides wireless operation of the Axxera DVD receiver.

Built-in SWC: This receiver offers built-in steering wheel remote compatibility with select non-CAN Bus vehicles. We don't recommend using this receiver's built-in steering wheel interface, because results have been inconsistent and we cannot confirm this radio's compatibility with your vehicle.
Note: This unit only works with analog steering wheel controls; it does not support any data-bus systems. This unit is not compatible with external steering wheel control interfaces.
    Smartphone Integration

DualMirror Input: The Axxera AV6337MB features a rear-panel HDMI audio/video input and USB charging port for connection of select Apple iOS devices and MHL-enabled Android smartphones. You'll be able to listen to audio from stored music and music apps, watch video from stored movies and movie apps, and view navigation apps on your compatible Apple iOS or MHL-enabled Android smartphone, using the head unit's HDMI input and USB (2.1A) charging port (know as the "DualMirror" input). The HDMI connection provides the audio/video playback, while the USB connection charges your compatible Apple iOS or Android device. You will need to purchase additional cables for connection based on your type of smartphone device (see below).

    • Apple iOS Connectivity: If you have a newer Apple iPod touch or iPhone with the Lightning connector, you will need Apple's Lightning Digital AV adapter, Apple's Lightning-to-USB cable, and a mobile-grade HDMI cable (all sold separately). If you have an older iPhone 4/4S or iPod touch (4th gen) with a 30-pin Dock connector, you will need Apple's Digital AV adapter, Apple's dock-to-USB cable, and a mobile-grade HDMI cable (all sold separately).
    • Android Connectivity: Most MHL-enabled Android devices, will require Axxera's microUSB 5-pin to HDMI/USB cable (070SL55A, sold separately). If you have a Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Note II/III/IV, you will need Axxera's microUSB 11-pin to HDMI/USB cable (070SL113A, sold separately). Click here for a complete list of MHL-compatible smartphones.
    • DualCast WiFi Dongle: To make DualMirror smartphone integration with this Axxera multimedia receiver even more seamless, Dual has introduced the all new DMH25 DualCast WiFi dongle (070DMH25, sold separately) to wirelessly connect your Android smartphone (Jelly Bean 4.2+) or Apple iPhone (iOS 4.2+) to the multimedia receiver.
Notes: Your vehicle's parking brake does not have to be engaged for the DualMirror input to function, so please use caution.

DualMirror 2-Way App (for Android): Download the DualMirror 2-Way App, from the Google Play App Store, onto your MHL-enabled Android (OS 2.0+) smartphone to allow control of the smartphone from the Axxera AV6337MB's LCD touchscreen. In addition, to HDMI & USB connectivity, the DualMIrror 2-Way App requires a wireless Bluetooth connection between your compatible Android smartphone and the AV6337MB in-dash receiver. Control from the head unit's touchscreen is available with or without your vehicle's parking brake engaged, so please use caution.

Note: Even though the AV6337MB will mirror the display of your connected Apple iOS or MHL-Enabled device, it will not always allow you to operate playback functions of your mobile device through the head unit. Apple iOS devices do not support the DualMirror 2-Way app, nor control from the head unit's touchscreen. Some Android devices will not support the DualMirror 2-Way app, nor control from the head unit. These non-compatible 2-way devices, will require control from the mobile device's touchscreen.

Built-in Bluetooth: The Axxera AV6337MB features built-in Bluetooth (v.2.0) Technology. With built-in Bluetooth, you can wirelessly connect your Bluetooth capable mobile phone to listen to calls through your car's audio system. You can also stream audio from a Bluetooth enabled audio player. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles - HFP (Hands Free Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile), A2DP  (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), & AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

    • Hands-free Communication (w/ front-panel mic): The AV6337MB supports wireless hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The AV6337MB allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's integrated front-panel microphone and your car audio speakers. Your car audio speakers will mute automatically during a call.
      • Incoming Calls: The AV6337MB allows you to answer and end a call from the head unit's touchscreen monitor. Incoming phone call information will be displayed on the unit's LCD monitor.
      • Making a Call: You can make a call from the AV6337MB using the unit's on-screen keypad (0-9), your phone's downloaded phonebook, or a call history data log of dialed/received/missed calls.
    • Audio Streaming: The Axxera AV6337MB also allows you to play back stored music and streamed music from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet, or personal music player using a Bluetooth connection. You can control (Play/Pause/Skip) the music stored on your Bluetooth audio player from the AV6337MB. This unit will also display song/artist/album information from your connected Bluetooth device.

Note: Before using the unit's Bluetooth functions, you must pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or audio device to the AV6337MB. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some mobile devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the AV6337MB.

    Disc & USB Playback

Disc Compatibility: The Axxera AV6337MB supports playback of DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD +R/RW, CD-Audio and CD-R/RW discs. The unit can play back MP3 music files, AVI/MPEG/DivX/xVid video files, and JPEG photo files recorded onto a compatible DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, or CD-R/RW disc.

    • Off Insert/Eject: You can insert or eject a disc with the unit powered off.
    • Auto Playback: The unit will automatically start playback of a disc when inserted.
    • Auto Reload: If the disc is not removed from the disc slot within 10 seconds of being ejected, it will be automatically reloaded to prevent it from being accidentally damaged.

Front-Panel USB Port: The Axxera AV6337MB is fitted with a front-panel USB (type-A) 2.0 port for connection of a USB mass storage class device, such as a USB thumbdrive or portable digital audio player. The unit supports playback of MP3 music files, AVI/MPEG/DivX/xVid video files, and JPEG photo files stored on a compatible USB MSC device (up to 64GB). USB devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the DVD receiver's USB port (1A) and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

Note: The unit's front-panel USB port is not compatible with direct USB connection of Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad or Android smartphones/tablets. There is also a rear-panel USB port (2.1A) for charging purposes only.

File Compatibility: The Axxera AV6337MB supports the following types of audio, video, and photo files recorded onto a disc, or loaded onto a USB mass storage class device.

    Audio & Tuner Section

24-Bit DAC: The Axxera AV6337MB DVD receiver utilizes a high-performance 24-bit DAC for high quality sound.

MOSFET Amplifier: The Axxera AV6337MB is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the AV6337MB are as follows:

    • RMS Output: 16 watts x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Peak Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 watts total)
Note: The power specifications for the AV6337MB are compliant with the CTA 2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

4V/6Ch RCA Outputs + Sub Control: The AV6337MB features front, rear and subwoofer 4-volt RCA outputs. The front and rear speaker RCA outputs are balance and fade adjustable; the subwoofer RCA output is non-fading. The subwoofer RCA output offers independent volume control (1-12) and features a built-in low pass filter which can be set to 80, 120, or 160Hz.

Dual EQ: The AV6337MB is equipped with Dual EQ software. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classic, Beat, Flat, or User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 6-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Q-Factor, & Level).

    Frequency Q-factor Level
    Bass Low 60, 80, 100, 200 Hz 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0 -7 to +7
    Midrange Mid 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 kHz 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.25 -7 to +7
    Treble High 10, 12, 15, 17.5 kHz Fixed -7 to +7
    Super High

Loudness: The Loudness feature boosts certain frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The Loudness feature can be set to 3 levels and its Center Frequency can be adjusted to 400Hz, 800Hz, 2400Hz, or Flat.

Beep Tones: An audible beep tone confirms each function selection. The beep tone can be disabled/enabled in the Setup Menu.

AM/FM Tuner (w/ RDS): The Axxera AV6337MB features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, & preset tuning. The built-in AM/FM tuner allows you to store up to 18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets. You can tune your presets manually or have the head unit do it automatically. The Local function allows only strong radio stations to be received, blocking stations with weaker signals.

    • RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible FM stations.
    • European Tuning: You can switch the tuner between USA or European tuning.
    AV Connections

Aux Input: There is a front-panel 3.5mm Aux input (audio only) for connecting an external audio device, such as a portable audio player.

AV Inputs: There is a rear-panel composite video/stereo RCA input for connection of an external audio/video source, such as a Blu-ray player or TV tuner.

Dual Video Outputs: Two RCA composite video-output jacks allow you to add external monitors, such as rear headrest monitors (sold separately). The video output will display whatever image is being being displayed on the head unit's touchscreen monitor. This includes the warning "Video Is Disabled For Your Safety" when trying to watch video from a DVD, USB device, or AV inputs without the vehicle's parking brake engaged. You will need to engage the vehicle's parking brake to see video from these sources through the head unit's video outputs.

Note: The video outputs are not compatible with the unit's HDMI "Mirroring" input, even when the vehicle's parking brake is engaged.

Rear-View Camera Input: The Camera Input consists of a Composite video RCA jack for connecting an optional rear-view back-up camera (sold separately). This RCA input enables you to connect a rear-view camera to display the area behind your vehicle. The increased view encourages and facilitates safer driving. When an optional rearview camera is connected to this unit, the rear view image is displayed on the screen when your vehicle is placed in reverse gear (orange wire of harness must be connected to reverse light wire of vehicle). Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.1 seconds.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Can you pair by bluetooth with multiple phones? If so, how do you choose which is the active device?
    matthew  Jun 06, 2018
    2 answers
Yes you can. To access the phone you want select Bluetooth Phone from the Main Menu or press the phone icon from any operational mode then choose your choice of cell phone that are already paired on the list.
    jesus  Jun 08, 2018
Yes, this one is paired to 7 different phones. To choose you touch the phone symbol on screen then pick the device from the list. Only complaints are 1) I have to manually pick my phone even when I'm the only phone in the car. 2) (not BT related) the screen is not bright enough in bright sunlight to use the backup camera.
    russ  Jun 07, 2018
How do you get the camera / sub harness? It says it's sold separately get you needed to hook up a backup camera.

I can not get this to mirror with my s8.... Have you all had this problem?
    kelli  Feb 18, 2018
    4 answers
It mirrors fine with my S6. Really have not been able to get it to mirror with my wifes LG Stylo 2. I have found the mirroring function less useful than I expected. I bought it so I could mirror Google Maps. It takes an effort to establish the mirror, and I cannot play music while mirroring. The phone display is not that much different than the head units, so why bother. It is a cool technology, just less useful than I thought.
    wally  Feb 19, 2018
Havent actually tried since getting my note 8 but worked with my s5 just fine

Anyone try hooking a Chromecast to the rear HDMI and rear usb? Would any video from this set up play on rear video monitors?
    robert  Feb 11, 2018
    1 answer
The video outputs are not compatible with the unit's HDMI input, even when the vehicle's parking brake is engaged. You will find this information, and more, by clicking the "Details" tab on the stereo's main webpage and scrolling down below the "Features & Specs" table.
    ryan  Feb 17, 2018 (Staff)
It says in the Details that it is not Steering Wheel Control Compatible, but there is an icon on the screen "SWC" with a picture of a steering wheel. Yes or No?

It does give the option to connect to your factory steering controls but my vehicle doesn't have steering wheel controls so I did not use those connections.
    jesus  Jan 28, 2018
Hi there, I took pictures of the screen hoping to upload them to this forum to answer your question, but it looks like I cannot attach a photo here. The bottom right corner of the display does, in fact, show a steering wheel icon, with the letters SWC underneath. When I click on the icon, a whole new screen pops up full of icons including Power, Next, Mode, Volume, Accept, Reject, etc. At the bottom of that screen, it reads: Assign, Confirm, Reset, etc. However, my vehicle is not compatible with this feature, so I do not have it hooked up to my steering wheel. If I remember correctly, some of the wires behind the device were labeled as steering wheel control..But obviously I just sealed those off since I had nothing on my end to connect them to. I'm sorry that I can't say whether or not the SWC feature works properly, per my vehicle's absence of that ability, but I can confirm that the Axxera device has a menu icon and separate screen for it, and appears ready to go.
    danielle  Jan 27, 2018
Mine came with steering wheel control wires, but the car I had did not have any. It's in the wiring diagram though.
    kyle  Jan 27, 2018
How is the sound quality of this unit compared to the OEM stereo? Also does the iPhone mirroring work well? Any pics? Thanks

Sound quality is great, intricate control over music frequency for highs, mid and subwoofers. How ever it's a MP3 player so have to convert a lot of songs if you load them on a flash drive to play. Doesn't mirror iPhone to my knowledge, only android
    shane a.  Jan 19, 2018
Sound quality can be tuned to sound better than OEM. The iPhone mirroring works just as discribed. Can be annoying but great when using GPS apps

    jesus  Nov 08, 2017
Straight out of the box, connecting my iPhone via Bluetooth/usb cable, text messages are not displayed on the Axxera screen. I cannot speak for Android, and I believe there is a special cable or something you can connect via mirroring your phone, but with what comes in the box on its own, no.

You can't play music from an iPhone using the USB port of the front or back but you can use the aux port or Bluetooth

Will changing this radio into my 2006 pontiac g6 sedan take away my cruise control buttons as well as my radio controls? Or just delete my radio controls?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss integration with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

As long as you are capable of wiring the radio to the factory wiring your steering wheel controls should work. The Axxera comes with that option.

I have a backup camera in my truck will this feature still work?

Depends upon the output of your camera. This stereo is looking for a composite input (typically an RCA connector) . Our only complaint is that the angle of the dashboard in an '06 F150 means that the sun is on it from about 10 AM to 2 PM and the screen is not visible in direct sunlight. When connecting a trailer I made a sunshade for the dash that helps make the screen more visible. It works great in lower light.

Is the screen hard to see in the daytime?

I did not have a problem with the screen after adjusting the brightness and contrast in the daytime or nighttime
    brendan  Aug 14, 2017
No there is a brightness setting and it is fairly easy to read in direct light
    brennan  Aug 11, 2017
The screen is bright, but if there is no tint in vehicle and a lot of background light, any screen will become harder to see. It is as good as you would expect.
    rick  Aug 09, 2017
No, it is bright to see clearly during daytime when brightness level is increased in Settings.
    mawufemor  Aug 09, 2017
i installed in my wifes suburban, the screen is clear even in daytime, there are also settings that allow you to change colors of the screen to make it even easier to read.. day and night. for the money this is a nice unit.
    nicholas  Aug 08, 2017
I would recommend it if your on a budget or I also bought a Kenwood unit that I like also
    frank  Aug 08, 2017
Not because you can adjust the brightness or put it on auto bright and it will dim at night and brighten during the day
    frank  Aug 08, 2017
No, the screen is very clear daytime and nighttime

Thanks for your question. This is a standard Double DIN receiver. They are all approximately 7" wide by 4" high. The exact dimensions are: Width = 7.055" Height = 3.965" Depth = 6.135" Hope this helps.
