Features

HDMI & USB Extension Cable: The Accele 4' HDMI & USB-C extension cable with mounting bracket (part # USBRCHDMIDI) connects to the microHDMI input and USB-C port on the back of your in-dash head unit and provides a convenient connection for your HDMI component and USB-C device.

  • This extension will support Apple CarPlay on in-dash receivers that are equipped with a 1.5A USB-C port. It is not compatible with Apple CarPlay receivers with USB-C ports rated lower than 1.5A. However, this extension cable should not be used in conjunction with another USB extension cable (regardless of USB port rating).
  • This extension cable does not support Android Auto.

Male & Female Connectors: The 4' HDMI & USB extension cable features male and female connectors. There is a male microHDMI connector and a female HDMI input. There is also one male USB-C connector and one female USB-C port. The male connectors plug into your head unit's rear-panel ports, while your devices are plugged into the female jacks of HDMI & USB extension cable.

Mounting Options: The Accele HDMI & USB-C extension cable with mounting bracket offers two mounting options.

  • Flush Mount: The female end of the extension cable features a flush mountable design. You can simply drill a 1.0" hole at the desired mounting location and fit the female end of the cable into the hole. A threaded mounting collar secures the cable in place.
  • Mounting Bracket: A mounting bracket is also included to surface mount the female end of the cable using the four supplied screws. Once the surface mount bracket is installed, the female end of the cable fits into the bracket. A threaded collar secures the cable to the mounting bracket.

Rubber Caps: A rubber cap is provided to protect the female HDMI & USB-C connectors of the cable.

Dimensions:

  • Mounting Bracket:

Customer Q&A

Q
Is this cable compatible with usb 3.0 and 3.1? Or just 3.0?
david  Jun 01, 2025
1 answer
A
It is only certified for USB 3.0 specifications. When used with USB 3.1 devices, they should be backwards compatible with 3.0 specifications and still work.

Q
Why won't the usb support android auto ? Their USBRCS supports android auto and carplay and it looks like I'll have to buy that and do a separate install from the hdmi, but it would have been nice to have a combo port in the console. This would have been perfect for my Kenwood Excelon that has the usb-c and micro hdmi ports. But this combo cable doesn't support android auto, but only carplay when their USBRCS supports both? What the ??? Grrrrr. Ports and cabling are so irritating.

Greetings Jeff. I feel your frustration. Its a cable, it should work. But if you notice not all third party cables work on phones, and or tablets. Or work for a short time, then not. I don't have a simple answer for this. Perhaps the people at Accele could elaborate a bit. If you wish to call, their number is 800-788-1212.

Q
Will this cable work with a Kenwood DMX958XR which has a USB rating of 3 amps?
don  Mar 10, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Don, the USB-C portion of that cable will certainly work and support the full 3A for rapid charging speeds. The micro HDMI end of that same cable will also integrate right into the back of the headunit as well. All in all, this is the best cable option we carry for that Kenwood if you wanted to utilize both the USB and HDMI connections.

Q
Will both male ends fit into the rear of a Kenwood DMX 908S?
richard  Dec 24, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Rick. With the Kenwood DMX908S it has the micro HDMI female end on the stereo as well as the female end of USB C, so this cable extension is just what you would need.

Q
Does this adapter work for the JVC unit while driving or only while in park for screen mirroring video from an iPhone?
samuel  Dec 05, 2023

This Accele USBRCHDMID extension works with any radios that have a USB type-C input and micro-HDMI input, Samuel. Touchscreen radios will allow video playback features while in park, when your parking brake is engaged.
