Overview: The Cobra Dash Cam Hardwire Kit (CA-MICROOBD-003) provides constant power to select Micro-B USB-powered dash cameras. One end of the harness plugs into your vehicle's OBD-II (diagnostic) port, while the other end plugs into your device with a Micro-B USB plug. The cable is over 16 feet in length: 119" (9'-11") from the switch box to the Micro-B plug and 78" (6'-6") from the switch box to the OBD-II connector. The switch box has a toggle switch that lets you turn off your device without having to disconnect it.
Compatibility: The Dash Cam Hardwire Kit is compatible with the following Cobra devices:

Easy Installation: The Hardwire Kit is easy to install. One end plugs into your vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic port to supply constant power to your device. This frees up your vehicle's 12-volt accessory port and eliminates the clutter of hanging wires from your dashboard. The other end plugs into the Micro-B USB port on your dash cam. This cable is nearly 10 feet in length, allowing you to route the cable around your windshield to the dash camera's mounting location.
Benefits: With a constant power source, many dash cams can monitor your vehicle while it's parked. The Parking Mode and Motion Detection features continuously protect your vehicle while it is parked. When the camera is powered via the Hardwire Kit, the dash cam will start recording when motion, or an impact to the vehicle, is detected.
Power Management: The Cobra Dash Cam Hardwire Kit is equipped with intelligent power management circuitry to prevent power issues. The harness monitors the power for over-current, over-voltage, short circuit, and over-temperature situations. When the battery voltage is lower than 11.9V for 12-volt systems, or 23.9V for 24-volt systems, the kit's low voltage protection function will be activated, cutting off power to the dash camera. Power will resume when the vehicle is started and the battery is charged.
