articulate but does not hit hard

I paired this with the JL 500/1 amp at 4ohms and is rated at 250watts. I assume that since the amp is rated at 14.4 volts and the true voltage is somewhere closer to 13ish that im actually getting about 225 watts out of the amp. The sub sounds good and is really but it does not "hit" in the traditional sense. you dont feel it in your chest. you feel it in your inner ear as an overpressue event like when you dive down into the deep end of a pool. its plenty loud and brings a good balance to the sound system. I wanted something that would make me feel the bass drum while listening to music. that hard "THUD" sound is what i really wanted amplified and articulated. this didnt quite do it. im not sure if its the result of the amp not being dialed in perfectly, input signal being trashy or what but it didnt quite provide what i wanted. I think i could have spent way less cash and gone with a budget brand like a kicker 8" and gotten what i wanted.

Pros: very musical, clean, and loud

Cons: does not hit hard

Best sounding sub in its price range

I have this in a dual 10 inch ported tacotunes box for my tundra crewmax. This thing has an amazing bass response. These blow away alpine type s, which I had. Though these are only 200 rms, they efficiently hit all frequency's amazingly. Which in turn actually sounds better than some 400 rms subs. Since they have a relatively low rms, they wont pound super hard, but they give such a clean bass sound. And, they can get pretty loud too. Im enjoying these better than the rockford p1, alpine type s, and the kicker comp that I had in the past.

Pros:

Very good bass response but not overwhelming. The sub looks great. Very nice quality. My only wish is that I went with two instead of one.

Pros: Looks great cosmetically Sounds good with all music

Cons: Struggles just a hair with very low tones

Before anything, I'd like to disclose I like listening to music in moderate to moderately high volumes. I have one Focal 25A4 in a custom fit sealed enclosure (.71 cft) in the trunk of my 2015 Outlander Sport. I have a Rockford Fosgate R600x5 powering up my sub, JL Audio TR650-CXi on rear, and JL Audio TR650-CSi on the front. I like my system well-rounded -- nothing overpowering the other components. I tuned my sub by using an oscilloscope. Crossover point on the front and rear is at 100hz and 110hz for the bass. I kept my factory stereo, so I used the speaker level inputs. This sub sounds great along with the rest of the setup! Before the sub shipped, I received the speakers first. I installed the speakers and loved the improvement over the stocks. I thought that was good enough until I installed the bass. Wow! The sound stage expanded and sounded amazing. The sub adds a tight bass that I look for. I listen to rock, metal, electronica, hard dance and D&B. My car is an open cab to the trunk -- it helps the bass pass to the front more. Not sure if it lessens for sedans. This sub can handle louder volumes, as long as you tune it right. The recommended max RMS is only at 200W. It will not turn heads on the road, if that's what you're into. It will also not produce sounds 35hz and below. This sub is meant for those who wants to expand the sound stage of their car audio system. If you're going to use a sealed enclosure on this, check for major air leaks.

Pros: Adds a low soundstage. Inexpensive. Low power consumption.

Cons: Does not hit below 36hz. May not be loud enough for some.

Amazing sub, tight and accurate blends in nicely with the front comps (focal 165vb). It's installed in a sealed 0.70 enclosure hooked to a Zed Draconia III. I wanted great sq and that's exactly what I got. If you want a loud sub look somewhere else. If you want great sq and listen to your music at normal volume levels this sub is hard to beat; don't get me wrong it can get loud but you won't wake up the neighbours.

Pros: Great sq, very musical sub

I have the Focal Access 10" subwoofer in a sealed enclosure that's about .55ft^3. The enclosure is on the small side so it's stuffed with polyfill. The subwoofer is powered by 250 watts via an Alpine PDR amp. The how small the enclosure is, the sub performs very well. There is a slight lack of very low end sounds (below 50hz), but I'm sure in a ported box tuned correctly, I wouldn't be able to notice. The bass itself is sharp, accurate, and clean. The subwoofers excursion is more than I expected from such a small driver. If you're looking for a sub that can perform in a small enclosure with around 200w RMS, then I highly recommend the Focal Access 10". It may not be the loudest sub, but it certainly is of very clean quality and provides the extra punch to match up with other good speakers in the vehicle.

Pros: Small enclosure compatible, low power handling, very tight and accurate bass, good price for an SQ sub

Cons: Smaller sealed enclosure seems to lack a bit of low end extension,

Good Sub No Low End Bass

Clean sound, higher end on the mid bass is lacking and low end is missing completely. With that being said it is in a sealed box with .80 cubic feet. Might perform better in a ported box. All in all a good sub for the money.

Pros: Clean natural sound

Cons: no low end bass

Outstanding

I have not even had the chance to tune the 2 subs I just purchased and I am blown away so far. These are hooked up to 500 w Alpine mono, 3/4 up and very satisfied with the subltle frequency response they provide. You get what you pay for and these provide a high end product at a very tolerable price range. I highly recommend if you listen to a variety of music and have an appreciation for the details in the mix of your favorite records / artists. I only gave 4 stars on build quaility because I just installed and have not broken them in.

Pros: Frequency response, clean, basic power needed.

Cons: Nothing as of yet.
