Black Aria Evo X Center speaker looks good, sounds good

I purchased Focal Kanta 1 fronts a few weeks ago and my existing center speaker didn't match well. I looked around for a better match. The Kanta 1 center is expensive and very large, but I wanted a speaker that didn't break the bank or the shelf. The Aria Evo X center speaker is brand new and tempting, and the drivers look similar to the Kanta 1 drivers, even though the Kanta should be better. The cost of the Aria Evo is much better, so I decided to try. I ordered the speaker on Tuesday afternoon and Crutchfield got it to me Thursday morning and I had it hooked up one hour later. It's been running a lot the past few days. At first the Evo sound was somewhat brittle, but it seems to be breaking in quickly. It's sounds smoother now and is getting nearer to the sound of the smooth Kanta 1 fronts, and will probably continue to get somewhat better during break in. No, it does not exactly match the Kanta 1s (and I think ONLY the Kanta center speaker will match those). But it's close enough and the overall sound of my system is excellent. I listened to two Blu-ray musicals today and couldn't stop watching either - the music was just great. Sound in movies is great too and the slight speaker mismatch is less noticeable in movies. I can sum up the Aria Evo Center speaker with three words - clarity, clarity and clarity. The tone of the speaker is good, and the clarity is excellent - the best I've heard from a center speaker, although I haven't heard them all.

Pros: Good tone and great clarity

Cons: Absolutely none
