Great Speakers But Hard to Wire
Crutchfield customer from Lorton, VA on 11/20/2022
Bought the Focal Sib Evo Dolby Atmos speakers to upgrade my 5.2 HT (home theater) system to 5.2.2 (with the separate up firing driver in this speaker). I also bought the Focal Hip Evo stands for the speakers. This is a good looking setup, and the speakers sound great. The stands are a must, unless you have the facility to place the speakers left and right of your TV at the recommended minimum height of 30 inches. (The curved bottom of the speakers prevented attaching them to flat-topped stands.) Connecting speaker wires - 4 to each speaker - is a challenge. These speakers do not have conventional posts for connecting the wires from your AV receiver. Each speaker has four internal spring type receptacles, two for the front driver and two for the Atmos driver in each speaker. These spring type receptacles are very difficult to use. There are two major issues: 1) the holes into which each separate wire is inserted are very small and very close together and 2) there is a single spring activator for each pair of speaker wires. Inserting two wires simultaneously while pressing the activator is nearly impossible. The Focal manual claims that each wire receptacle can accommodate 20-15 gauge speaker wire. I was unable to insert a 16 gauge wire into either receptacle. Solution was to buy flex pin banana plugs with PVC sleeves to attach to the end of each speaker wire. Tried solid pins, but spring receptacle did not hold them adequately. I highly recommend these speakers and flex pins.

perfect for living room theater 10x18 room. Somewhat tricky when connecting to Denon 1300w to enable "front dolby" within Amp assignment. audyssey room calibration worked well once Amp assignment was set.
Pros: powerful sound in compact package Accurate tone from both ceiling and front facing cones
Cons: wire connections little tricky to seat wires

Dolby Atmos Enabled Speaker Upgrade
Crutchfield customer from Dearborn, MI on 6/12/2019
Great sounding speakers. Performs on par with much larger surround speakers. I would have given these a higher rating if the speakers were designed to utilize standard banana plugs. I found the use of a single button to be a pain to get both wires locked in place. I ended up buying banana pin plugs to help. Happy overall with purchase.
Pros: Perfect size, Sleek Design, & excellent performance.
Cons: Single Button Spring load speaker wire connections. It should use a split button design. One for each channel.

Crutchfield was great to deal with, not only in easy of sale but support too! Love the speakers!
Pros: Great product exceeds my first set of ten years! Great product from Focal!
Cons: Only one is the wall mounts are very underrated for the weight of the speaker! The angel holding screw is very weak!
