A tweeter and mid built in one! Huge sound!

I could no believe the sound coming from these speakers, I had to double check my high pass filter. At 5000hz 12db with a Butterworth they still responded down to the low thousand herts. I used these off access I could tell they weren't precise as the Utopia or the Kevlar K2 but the stage was wider with more frequency's attenuated. I call them speakers not tweeters they have noticeable suspension throw and make the sound both a 3" and a tweeter. I had to turn them down on my Mosconi amp, these come with a lot of headroom. These tweeters are game changers!
Pros: Strong speaker terminals, looks like a mini subwoofer.
Cons: Don't not look as pretty as the Kevlar tweeter.

Focal FRAK
Crutchfield customer from Gresham, OR on 5/2/2024
Reviewing these tweeters is difficult. On one hand I'm completely satisfied with them but on the other hand I'm completely disappointed. First the good. The sound quality is amazing. Right now I'm running them in pods crossed at 1500 and they are wonderful. Sadly the pods limit me and I can't cross them any lower. That's not the speaker's fault though it's the pods. Moving on to what I view as disappointing. These tweeters are on-axis speakers only. If you can't get these on-axis, buy something else. That, however, isn't the most disappointing thing about these speakers. The most disappointing thing is the build quality. Specifically, the terminals. They are so fragile that even removing them out of the foam in the box snapped the positive terminals right off on both tweeters. The wire connecting the terminals to the speakers also disconnected so soldering skills and super glue are pretty much required for this $1000 pair of tweeters. Overall, I can't recommend these tweeters. I love their sound quality, but the build quality and on-axis requirement is a much bigger disappointment then the great sq.

Focal FRAK and Focal 3KM

WOW! These Focal FRAK Tweeters are the best I ever had and heard in a car audio system. I also purchased from Crutchfield the Focal 3KM midranges. Before I installed these jewels, I had the Focal PS165F3 also from Crutchfield. These were phenomenal speakers. These new Focal FRAK and 3KM together after the breaking period they sound exquisite. I have a JL Audio VX800/8i. Using 6 channels (tweeters, midrange and midbass) as active and 2 channels passive (Focal K2 coaxial). I used the JL Audio TUN software on a notebook to calibrate (RTA) with a USB microphone each one of the channels(speakers) as a 4-way system. I enjoyed Hi-Res music either on a USB flash drive(FLAC files) or Tidal app(with hot spot on my cell phone) on my Alpine ilx-F509 which it has a DAC. I'm looking on buying the Focal 6.5KM to improve the midbass and take down the High Pass Filter from 80Hz on my current Focal midbass to 50Hz as soon as I buy and install the Focal 6.5KM. Soundstage will sound amazing! By the way. I was able to install the speaker pods with the instructions that Crutchfield provided on how to remove the a-pillar on my car. These speakers required more juice from the amp than the previous Focal speakers. Thank you, Crutchfield!
Pros: Amazing details in Highs and Mids(voice and guitars) on Car Soundstage.
Cons: These Focal speakers are not cheap. But the quality that they provide, it is a different and better level than regular speakers can't achieve.
