Features
Overview: The Focal ISUB ACTIVE 2.1 amplified subwoofer can provide dynamic bass from the built-in 8" subwoofer as well as power an additional pair of speakers (not included). The ISUB ACTIVE 2.1 features a low-profile, compact design that allows it to fit under or behind most seats and in tight spaces. An integrated 130W RMS (260W peak) amplifier powers the flat 8" subwoofer while two additional amplified channels can provide 2 x 55W RMS (110W peak) for powering a pair of full-range speakers (sold separately). The 2.1 subwoofer system can accept either high- or low-level input signals, and includes a T-harness for connecting directly into select vehicle wiring.
Controls & Indicators:
- Auto Turn-On: 2-way switch determines the activation method for the amp; On lets you use a high-level input signal to activate the amp; Off requires a 12V trigger on the Remote terminal for activation.
- Front Controls:
- Gain: A rotary dial sets the amplifier input level for the subwoofer section.
- High-Pass Filter: A rotary dial selects the cutoff frequency for the high-pass filter; range 50-150 Hz.
- Subwoofer Controls:
- Gain: A rotary dial sets the amplifier input level for the subwoofer section.
- Bass Boost: A rotary knob for boosting the bass level between 0 to 18 dB
- Phase: A push-button sets the subwoofer phase; 0° or 180°
- Low-Pass Filter: A rotary dial selects the low pass crossover frequency; range 50 to 180 Hz
- Subsonic: A rotary dial selects the cutoff frequency for the subsonic filter; range 20 to 50 Hz
- Power Indicator: A power LED will light Green when the amplified subwoofer is powered on and operating nominally.
- Protect Indicator: A protect LED will light Red if the amp detects a fault.
Connections:
- Power: Power, ground, and remote inputs are provided on set-screw terminals (each 0.23" wide) letting you connect the included 16.5' power wire (12-gauge), with in-line 35A ATO fuse, and the 39" ground wire. A remote turn-on lead is included in the T-harness.
- Line Input: Stereo RCA jacks provide the low-level signal inputs.
- Speaker Inputs & Outputs: Two 4-pin Molex sockets let you connect the provided speaker-level input and speaker output harnesses on the provided T-harness. If not using the attached ISO and Molex connectors on the T-harness, the connectors can be cut off and the wires spliced directly to your headunit's output and your vehicle speaker wiring.
- Remote Control: 6-pin RJ-12 jack for use with the included remote bass level control.
Wiring: The Focal ISUB ACTIVE 2.1 amplified subwoofer system includes a pre-configured 9' T-harness that provides power, ground and remote activation for the subwoofer, as well as the high-level inputs and two speaker outputs. The T-harness features a speaker-level input and output harnesses that connect to sockets on the sub chassis. Two sets of ISO harnesses on the radio/factory wiring end of the harness are designed to integrate directly into select European vehicles that use ISO connectors for the factory radio.
Note: If installing the ISUB ACTIVE 2.1 in a vehicle that doesn't use ISO connectors, the T-harness ISO connectors must be cut off and the wires connected directly to your vehicle and headunit wiring.
Wired Remote Control: The included wired remote bass level control lets you independently control the level of subwoofer from the driver's seat, without it affecting the volume of any connected full-range speakers.

Mounting: The subwoofer, with its height just over 2.5", can be mounted flat under or behind the seat of a wide range of vehicles. Four mounting feet are included to secure the subwoofer to a flat surface along with mounting hardware.
