Why won't this work for a 2001 Tundra?

I don't know. Not the sort of question a customer can answer. I'd wager it is a size or depth issue Crutchfield would be better able to advise you in this instance.

I installed these on the rear deck of my 2019 Honda Accord sport. We had issues with fit due to diameter of the factory hole and the the rear metal support of the speaker. This caused issues the top cover of the rear deck being secured correctly. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you correct this issue?

These speakers should fit with the mounting bracket we sent once you remove the inner tabs on it like Kenneth mentioned. If you have done that and are still encountering issues completing the install, I recommend contacting our technical support for troubleshooting help. Are you using a mount/adapter with your install? If so, are you making sure to mount it on top instead of below the mount? I don't have an accord, but in my install I had to modify the speaker mount/adapter so that the speaker mounted on top of it (had to remove the inner tabs). That gave me the extra depth I needed.

I'm pretty certain the Focal will not fit a 5.5" cutout. They are for 6.5" opening, which is what my install called for. MB

What's the reason why these don't fit an '85 e30 rear deck? There are other similar size speakers that mention minimum modification needed but the description for this set says "do not fit"

Those speakers are just slightly too large in the diameter they require. A 6x9 version of that speaker does fit however : https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091RCX690/Focal-RCX-690.html

Do these speakers need an amp or will they get enough power from an aftermarket head unit?

I installed these speakers for my daughter's 2007 Honda CRV with the OEM head unit. They work fine with the OEM receiver.

I really like mine. I just added to a factory head unit. It made a huge difference right out of the box. I did change all 4 though.

In my 2016 Tacoma they get enough power and sound great. The amp will only improve that. I plan on adding an amp to mine soon in addition.

No amp needed. They're rated at only 60 watts anyway. You should be good with aftermarket radio. I'm using a 45 watt amp with factory head unit and I'm happy.

I'm using them with a Pioneer head unit that outputs 14 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels and they sound great.

I went with a deck that is basically an amp the Sony mex100bt I believe. They run 50rms. They're alright, but are overshadowed by the componets in front and one sub in trunk. Overall, I'm not impressed. I would definently run an amp if you can.

They do not require an amp. They sound pretty good without one, but if you are looking for a ton of sound out of them, you're likely going to need an amp. That said, I don't have an amp and I have four of these; I'm happy with their performance.
