2000 Jeep Cherokee
First one I received was defective. Screen would go black and the only way to get it to come back on was to factory reset it. The replacement is also defective. Android Auto continually crashes. I work 14 miles from home and it will crash 4-5 times. I've replaced the cord and factory reset this unit and it still won't stay connected. I would not recommend this brand or model.

Pretty good system for the price. I do wish that I had purchased a unit with a volume knob. The "buttons" (+ and -) icons are small and hard to adjust when driving (my truck does not have SWC). I would also rather have wireless AppleCarPlay instead of having to plug my phone in. But, overall a decent unit for the price.
Pros: Good sized screen. Bright. Adjustable brightness, equalizer. Low price. Good fit in 2011 f150xl
Cons: No volume knob. Volume icons are too small to adjust accurately while driving. No wireless AppleCarPlay.

This radio unit has everything you need for an entry level unit. The price is excellent if you do not mind a slow boot and wired CarPlay. The camera was nice but bulky, does not appear OEM. Overall the system was worth the price.

Installed nicely in a 2007 Lincoln Mark LT. Definitely need the adapter kit though. As always, read the directions (amazing how much easier it when you do that). Radio sounds good with stock speakers and stock subwoofer. I will note, you need a good USB cable to get the Android Auto to work. Cheapy cables will charge, but won't work for linking.

This was reasonably easy to install and most features work well and easy to figure out. The negatives are the camera is not great quality, but the main issue that makes me give it only 3 stars is the call quality. For the driver it sounds perfectly fine, but for the person on the other end of the call there is a constant echo of everything you say! Incredibly annoying when you are calling the person in the car. I've tried placing the mic in multiple locations and no difference. From what I have researched, this is basically a you get what you pay for scenario - they simply don't use a sophisticated(if any) noise cancelling/filter components/software in a radio this cheap.

Cons: Terrible echo for the person calling the driver(caller hears echo of themself, from the drivers point of view it sounds fine)

I purchased this for my daughter's 2012 GMC Sierra. I purchased the Boss system, the dash kit, and the wiring interface. Additionally, I paid the extra cost to have the wiring interface pre-wired. That alone was worth the cost. It saved me countless hours of time and having to try and figure out wires. It literally made this installation plug-and-play. Once installed, everything worked perfectly. The only issue I had, was the RCA wire for the license plate camera was short by about 2 feet, so I had to go get an RCA extension to finish the installation.

I've had this for almost a year now and 3 months ago the Bluetooth started working intermittently. Now Bluetooth is unusable. It will connect for about 5 minutes and then disconnect. Now android auto and Apple car play won't work because the Bluetooth won't connect. And the last straw for me was the backup camera stopped working a few weeks ago. When this thing worked I absolutly loved it the screen is nice sometimes a little laggy but not bad and it had all the features I wanted at a price I couldn't pass up. But I do wish I'd passed it up at this point as now I'm out that money.

Cons: stops working, no bluetooth, android auto will pop up and then go away enough that the whole unit freezes. Same issue with apple carplay.

I like everything about this unit BUT the sound. Very underwhelming to say the least...connected to 7 speakers and definitively not the volume I was expected. I checked with Crutchfiled customer service before confirming the order if an amplifier was needed and was told not and that unit would have plenty of volume :(

This unit is a great buy. The Apple Car Play connects to my phone within seconds, the screen is very clear and the touch response is great. The sound quality is better than the stock radio and the power is more than enough to drive the speakers. The back up camera is great too. I took advantage of the pre-wire and it is worth every penny. I only had to jump two wires (they provided detail instructions on where to find the wires and the color codes) and plug the two sockets they wired for me. I put in two USB sockets in the dash plugged into the back of the unit and was on my way. I used a face plate that emulated the golf ball dimple that was on the stock radio. It was easy to attach to the radio unit and snapped in place without any hassle.
Pros: Easy to install, set up and use while driving. Good sound quality and screen graphics.
Cons: Two things - It does not have controls for the ring tone volumes (although they do not seem to be too loud) and I wish it had a knob for volume control. I made this choice so it is my fault but having to touch the screen to adjust the volume is less than desirable.

For the price you cannot begin to compete with this. Installed in my 2014 Ram and it totally changed the whole feel of the truck. Fairly simple to install. About a half a day if you have minor experience like I do. And the back up camera works great

Good Sound Quality and Signal Strength

I'm new to Boss family so I was a little concerned if sound quality and signal strength. Now that I have installed it with the good help from Crutchfield team I am glad to say I am very please with the quality of sound and signal I am getting. Everything works as advertised with good fit and finish. Apple car play works and allows me to listen to my own music and use Waze. For those installing the rear camera, when you are in the truck hook up the camera power to your back up light and also connect the red positive wire that goes back to the radio. Connect red wire to the radio's Reverse wire so the Radio will know when to switch on the backup camera. I found menu navigation pretty easy to use and have set time, EQ settings to my liking and turned off the beeps that occur everytime you press a selection.
Pros: Sound Quality Signal Strength Features for the Money
Cons: Needs a little more detail on rear camera install.

I'll admit I was hesitant buying a brand I have never seen or heard off. Install was a breeze.Setting up sound preferences easy. The color on the screen is clear and looks high def. Apple Car Play sync right up. The added back up camera is a great bonus. Installed in 2004 Ford Expedition. Now I am in the process of replacing the. OEM speakers.
Pros: Great Bang for the buck. Screen color and resolution is the best I have seen so far. Just enough power for great sound even on OEM speakers. With back up camera installed the system will mute itself- great safety feature.
Cons: The install instructions on the camera had me stumped for an hour.

This radio is a fantastic upgrade to my 2005 Silverado. Crutchfield had all the appropriate accessories I needed for the installation. The price was reasonable for everything. The radio works great. There was one small hiccup with the installation. I contacted Crutchfield and they were able to straighten me out within two minutes. I will continue to buy from Crutchfield . Customer support is in the United States and not India. This is a huge factor. Thank you for your help Crutchfield you do have my future business!
Pros: This is a beautiful radio. That's easy to learn and understand. The back up camera is great.
Cons: Soldering the harness to the head unit was a little bit of work. Getting power from the rear reverse light was a little bit of work too. Installation instructions were a bit vague.

I purchased this radio to replace the factory radio in a 2010 Chrystler Town and country. My goal was to add a reverse camera and carplay without spending alot due to the lower value and age of car. This radio kit is definately punching above its price point. For most users, you would not be able to tell the quality difference between this boss and the Pioneer NEX series I have in my other car. Its purely interface preferences.
Pros: Great instructions compatable camera included price with radio and all components necessary is cheeper than the pioneer unit by itself.
Cons: No aux input on back. wiring for the camera needs to be extended when installing in truck or van or 3 row SUV. Great for large passenger cars though.

It held strong for a few months before it broke, but that was a user error. Crutchfield was able to get me a new unit to replace it which was a lifesaver. The car play, even though wired is still great. You can tuck away the USB for the car play. The backup camera isn't as crisp, but it gets the job done and is better than no camera.

Combined with the install kit, this radio fit exactly as advertised. Chose this head unit because needed to put a backup camera in a 1990 Mazda Miata for my daughter. Very pleased with the 4 volt preamp out for my sub and the 20 watt rms output per channel. Running wing no amp just the head unit and a hide away self powered sub and WOW. With Apple car play and high res music this thing sounds very clean. I find myself sitting in the car and just kicking back to the enjoy the concert. Individual source volume control allows you to match the various inputs. Hands free is a welcome upgrade for my daughter. All around a very well thought out design at a very reasonable price.

I bought one of these almost two years ago. for the first year it worked completely fine. no issues whatsoever. then it would automatically switch from carplay to radio with no way to switch it back or turn it off. you just have to listen to static until you turn the car off and it magically fixes itself. then the volume started changing itself- either to completely silent or the loudest it could go. again, no way to turn it off. and now it will freeze, so i'll reset it, and then the thing totally craps out. i tried everything to fix it- bought a new charger, literally took the thing out and reinstalled it, everything. this thing has almost gotten me into several wrecks from how loud it gets and the static suddenly coming on. i would say, for the price, and how long it worked and how often i used it, it was worth it. but just know that once it starts tweaking there's literally no way to fix it and it'll keep getting worse.

First unit was a flake from day 1. Wouldn't hold settings. Replaced under warranty. Second unit worked okay for a few weeks then started losing all settings when I shut off the vehicle for a few hours. Horrible user interface. Touch screen sucks. Radio sucks. Poor reception. Basically now I have to reprogram the unit every time I start the vehicle. Wish I never bought this unit.

Pros: Great versatility for playing off a device via BT, USB Ports, hands free telephone, rear view camera. Lots of features for the price and compact size. It has a built in EQ, you can wire the camera for on demand view, plays videos too. Good factory warranty.
Cons: The only thing that is a little disappointing is the rear view camera but Im not THAT disappointed. It is adequate. Im not watching the rearview while I'm driving, its just for trailer hookups.

So far so good. No issues on installation. I did realize a few days later that I must have not wired the illumination wire correctly as it doesn't move to it's "night mode" when the headlights are on. I also wish that you could turn down the brightness further as I find it a little bright at night on the lowest setting. Overall it appears to be a great value for the product you receive and available features.
Pros: Android auto works great, I like that it has dual camera inputs and power options for the cameras directly off the head unit.
Cons: Screen is brighter than I would prefer at night, and no way to turn off the display itself.

(4.5 stars) I couldn't imagine buying a car stereo system from any other company. The website is incredibly helpful and when you need anything else they respond quickly and professionally. I feel 100% confident that I will be successful with their support. Their documentation was perfect and everything went as smoothly as can be expected. While I have limited experience with the radio at this point it worked just fine out of the box and does what it says it does. The half star is for the camera as I feel like it is on the cheaper side. Yes it works but I'd prefer a better model. Having said that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Crutchfield or this radio setup - just make sure you get the PAC RP4-FD11 Wiring Interface.

Items ordered: Head unit, ELPC408 backup camera, wire harness (also paid to have Crutchfield connect the wire harnesses), Accele USBR2X and dash adapter kit for a Christmas present for my son. Installed in a 2008 Toyota Corolla. Watched a few videos on youtube a couple by crutchfield and one specific to the Corolla. For someone who has only installed one other car radio, the installation was pretty straightforward. There are two ways to wire up the backup camera, the simple way is to wire it up so it comes on when the car is put in reverse, the more complicated way is to have the camera come on when you put the vehicle in reverse or anytime by pushing the camera button on the head unit. Of course we had to do it the more difficult way. The items I had to buy to complete the installation were some connectors )I bought a package at Lowes that had terminal type connectors and butt type connectors). some 18 ga primary wire (I'd get this from Crutchfield for an auto store because a lot of home improvement stores don't carry primary wire) and some T-Tap wire connectors. So, all in all I spent about $30 in those items but that is only because many of those items had to be purchased in packages with way more than I needed. One the install was complete, we tested everything. Apply Car Play worked great, Blue tooth sync'd with the phone immediately. Camera is clear (a little grainy in low light at night) and the unit sounds great, I will buy from Crutchfield again

Cons: Not too many, wiring directions were online but it would be nice to have a printed item but that is really nitpicky stuff.

Just installed unit in 2011 Camry and everything went fine. I took me a few hours and YouTube videos to figure out some of the details and wiring. However, when I tested the phone function (IPhone 11) on Apple Carplay, the person I called said they heard their voice as an echo. I did not hear the echo in the car. Apparently this is an issue and I have not figured out how to fix this yet. Online research shows this is a common problem and no real guidance on how to fix it. Some of the fixes include changing the lighting cable and changing some of the settings on the phone. I'm still trying to fix this. No noticeable issues on any other features that I've seen.

95% of the time everything is totally fine. However, when its hot outside, or if my car sat in a parking lot for a couple hrs with the windows up, things get weird. It starts jumping inputs. Let's say I'm listening to the radio. Audio will play for a minute then it'll stop, and the screen shows like I selected a different input. It continues to jump from input to input without touching anything. There hasn't been any issue since the weather started cooling off in September. I installed everything correctly (soldering and electronics are a part of my day job.) Definitely seems like an issue with the unit. It's really not a huge deal and I forget about it, but when it happens it's pretty frustrating.

I purchased and installed the Boss today - the installation was relatively easy - with the help of the Crutchfield support team. My only issue and why I am only giving this 4 stars - was the cable to the backup camera was too short for my F150 Super Crew Cab - it was about 3 ft short of making the distance. I had to make an extension in order to get it connected. Other than that, the unit works great. It was a little buggy at first - with an intermittent connector from the wiring harness, but reseating it a few times and it seems to be fine.
Pros: Easy to Install; nice interface; touch screen works well.
Cons: Backup camera cable was too short. Had to make an extension in order to connect the camera.

Was very surprised by the price and the features this deck has to offer. All the inputs I needed at this price point is such a deal I couldn't pass on. The total package with camera was super easy to install into a 2004 Civic Coupe. With the Crutchfield pre wired harness was so worth it and made the install literally less than 30min. The longest part of the install was just running the camera wires from the truck to the deck and splicing in. Highly recommend!

I don't normally do reviews but I feel that I must to share my very positive experience not only on this product but also on the other products that I bought along with it and also on Crutchfield's excellent customer service. This package also came with the TOY-K958 Dash Kit and Metra 70-1761 Receiver Wiring Harness free of charge. The Dash Kit fits perfectly with the radio and to the car's dash panel. I didn't use the Wiring Harness because I opted to purchase Crutchfield's ReadyHarness Service. This is the wisest decision that you can make. It made the installation a lot easier and quicker as all the connections are done for you. As for the radio installation, the instructions were spot on. Instructions for the ReadyHarness could be better. I had to call tech support about a couple of leads to double check. They were very helpful. They walked me through each step and were very patient along the way. All in all, I had a great experience and I am sure, when it is time for you to buy a replacement radio, you would be too!
Pros: Excellent tech support and installation instructions for the radio unit.
Cons: ReadyHarness instructions could be better by identifying where certain leads go to which leads of the car.

This is an amazing package at a fantastic price. The Boss is loaded with features I had no idea of. I could not be any happier. Couple that with Crutchfield's installation packages to support the install and you cannot lose. I ordered the install kits they recommended and the wiring harness they made up for my vehicle. It went in like clockwork. Crutchfield is truely legendary service, and Boss is truly a "best bang for the buck". Great warranty as well!
Pros: Unbelievable features for the money. The Apple Car Play is awesome. Hands free is clear. Multiple Blue Tooth phones it can handle, and the list goes on. This unit will take many different video inputs and includes the backup camera. Could not be any happier.
Cons: Slight confusion on the iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module they send and where it is placed in the chain to the radio. Common sense rules and I quickly figured it out. Some others may feel overload and cannot figure it out. Cutchfield is a phone call away though to support you.

2007 Honda Accord VP
For my first time installing an aftermarket head unit, it went about as well as could be expected. Installed this unit with new speakers all around (Pioneer TS-G520 and Pioneer TS-G690) in my son's 2007 Honda Accord VP (which didn't have rear deck speakers to begin with). Besides the very lackluster audio, I've had a few issues in the very few times I've driven the car myself after installation. Twice on the same 20 minute drive the display rebooted on its own. On 20 minute drive today I had several Android auto issues: - Crashed twice, dumping me back to the unit's home screen. - After the first time, I disconnected/reconnected my Google Pixel 6 Pro to get Android Auto restarted. I was able to get back into Android Auto and see the map of my route, but it wasn't actually updating my position. Disconnected/reconnected my phone again, and started working normally. - A few minutes later, it crashed again. I disconnected/reconnected my Google Pixel 6 Pro to get Android Auto restarted. Worked normally. It's very concerning that, for how little I drive this car, I've had this many problems with this unit. I bought/installed this unit with the expectation that it will be very beneficial for my son when he goes away to college next year. Now I have little to no faith that it will be of any benefit at all given the issues I've had on two separate 20 minute drives.

Great radio, basically plug and play. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the Apple Car Play is USB and not Bluetooth, which I didn't realize until I had everything hooked up. Otherwise, the Bluetooth connects very easily, settings are easy to program, and all the hookups work great. Haven't attached the backup camera yet.

This Boss radio is awesome. Instillation was smooth and instructions spot on. It took a little time to connect up the wires for the specific wiring harness for my truck, but again the diagram and instructions were perfect and easy to follow. After a quick install and running additional RCA cable to the cab of my truck the radio came to life and works perfectly. I highly recommend the Boss radio and Crutchfield really has their support together.
Pros: This product is priced right, CarPlay is great, backup camera very clear, and the multiple preprogrammed equalizers gives a quick change to match your style of listening pleasure.

First, Crutchfield is an excellent company. Product shipped in a couple of hours, here the next day. Tech support will solved the one issue I had. Master sheet is invaluable. Do not buy anywhere else! The Boss unit is everything they say and more. Setup is very easy. I mocked it up on the workbench and soldered all connections making the installation plug and play. Initially it would not connect to Android Auto. I changed cables and that solved the problem. Fishing the camera cable on my MX5 took a little time. I used an old bicycle cable housing. I painted the tip red making it easier to locate . Resolution is very good.
Pros: Crutchfield will fo everything possible to make installation easier. Well done Car specific master sheet removes the guess work . Tech service available immediately

Nice Apple CarPlay radio. Installed it on my daughter's 2006 Honda CR-V. Crutchfield Tech Support is the best value-add feature when installing after-market radios in older cars! I would not go anywhere else. The radio has enough features to make it fun and very useful. Don't expect a super fancy interface or an actual high-resolution screen. However, the graphics are crisp and legible for the size, and the brightness is excellent. The bundled rear-view camera is excellent, especially if your vehicle is not equipped with one from the factory. It is a much better quality video than my factory 2010 Honda Pilot Touring cam. Delighted with the purchase.

Buggy, of all the functions of this radio worked as should. I could live with the sound quality being just okay. As of now, when I turn the truck off, all volumes drop (radio, seri, call, everything to zero). When I get off of a call, sometimes the radio doesn't automatically turn back on. I have to go select it again. Most recently, Apple care play has just been stopping while using the navigation and also turning the call off. The radio is o ly a year old. DO NOT BUY ONE! YOU E BEEN WARNED.

I replaced the stock head unit in my 11 wrx and what a difference, it gives some good bump for my stock speakers which is what I was after, I also got the pre done wire harness from crutchfield and I was so happy with it as well. Super easy quick connect and all my steering controls worked to didn't have to splice one wire to do this swap. Overall very happy with the purchase and extremely satisfied with crutchfield as a company.

It sounds good. It's pretty responsive and has a good equalizer. The downfall is, it'll have you wanting to pull your hair out. It is a glitchy piece of junk. It'll either blow your eardrum and speakers out when it get stuck on max volume until a hard reset or the volume gets stuck when the volume controls get stuck in adjusting "ring" volume after people call you. I literally have to shut my car off at red lights, open my door and wait 10 seconds to turn my car back on. Good luck if it happens to you on the highway. Looks like you'll be cruising without music for the trip unless you decide to stop. It happens so frequently I don't even bother half the time. Another issue is for iPhone users. If you have an android, calls will be great. But iPhones, people will hear an echo of their voice on their end of the line. Since I've gotten my iPhone I have to put it on speaker when people call and the radio will repeatedly try to grab the thing over and over again. As soon as I find it in my budget this thing is gone and given away to some other poor excited soul.

So far so good. Given the relative price of this unit vs others, it's doing everything we need it to do. I just needed bluetooth for phone calls and a backup camera. I was not in it for sound quality or fancy features. The quality of the backup cam is fine. It supports AppleCarPlay and Android Auto which is cool. Customer support from Crutchfield is absolutely amazing. If every company provided that level of support, the world would be a better place.
Pros: low cost. Does everything required.
Cons: You can tell it's not the most high quality unit. If you're into this for sound quality, I probably wouldn't go with this unit.

Terrible product. I use Android auto a lot and it works fine much of the time but there are numerous issues: 1) Doesn't remember last screen. When coming off backup camera from reverse to drive the screen goes back to the main dashboard. 2) Date is wrong after a couple of days. Time is right though. 3) Sometimes the system disconnects from phone during android auto maps. 4) horrible Youtube Music issues though Android Auto. 5) Cannot customize main dashboard. (Example: want to get rid of the Apple app. I don't use it so why does it need to take up space on the main screen???) 6) I emailed Boss customer service. No happy with that interaction. No software updates planned for this unit. 7) Numerous Bluetooth issues. I don't ever want to own another Boss product ever again.

Cons: Software is bad. User experience is horrible. Many bugs in the system.

I would not recommend this unto to anyone. I was skeptical but the salesperson said regardless of the low price it was a quality unit. It is not. 1. I hate not having a volume knob, but that is my fault for choosing a unit without it. I don't think the membrane style buttons will last long. 2. The biggest issue is that the unit's bluetooth constantly disconnects. This can happen as much as 3-4 times in a song. Sometimes it automatically reconnects after a few seconds, but not always. 3. Often times if the unit is set to radio when I turn the vehicle off, when I turn it back on, the volume will say '0' but it will actually be playing at about 5+ level. It will not allow you to turn it down, but sometimes, not always, if you hit the volume 'Up' button, it will "wake up" the volume control and you can turn it down. 4. Lastly and most-terrifyingly, sometimes if the unit is turned off while in Bluetooth Mode it will come back on at max volume. I am talking heart-attack "this one goes to 11" levels. You can't turn it off or down on the unit or Bluetooth connect device and need to turn the vehicle off, turn the bluetooth device off and try to start over when your pulse goes down. I have taken the vehicle back to the processional installer and all the connections are good. I had these issues with my Apple 11, Apple 13 and girlfriend's Android phone. We have 2 other vehicles and never have these issue or anything even close with them with those cars.

The product itself is very nice. As I continue to use it, I find things pros and cons. The head unit itself is nice the touchscreen is good; Sometimes I have to hit the button twice. when using the backup camera, the yellow banner that warns to watch surroundings is a little distracting. the steering wheel controls don't work. (I did call tech support and they told me that the PAC unit needs to be set to a certain setting, that might have been good to know when speaking with them several times throughout install about the PAC. Given the vehicle I installed the Backup camera i found the provided cable too short. PSA for Crutchfield - given the extensive vehicles you have reviewed you have probably found that out already. A suggestion you might want to add during product choice is the option or STRONG suggestion to get the extension cable. About the Install itself, Attaching the stereo wiring to the PAC unit is pretty straight forward, Match the color for color, (I started with the wires that match exactly then called Tech support for the wires that didn't match exactly. I ran the backup cable along the driver side and took of the trim as needed. I might recommend again that if Crutchfield has installed in a vehicle and have video, you suggest watching that, if that vehicle is the vehicle being worked on. I Give the whole package 4 stars as it is a big, BIG improvement from the previous factory stereo. thanks Crutchfield. You have my trust and Business.

Good features but unreliable

2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500
I was reluctant to try this brand and basically got what I expected. The backup camera works fine but the bracket arrived bent. I straightened it for proper left/ right view. The installation was no problem. I purchased the Crutchfield wiring harness which worked as expected. The features of the unit are fine. The Bluetooth phone connection only works about 50% of the time. I can hear them but they can't hear me. Also, if you want to use the contact list or call history, you have to download them every time you restart the vehicle. Pointless. I haven't called Crutchfield yet to sort this our but I will likely need to upgrade soon to have reliable phone operation.

Works amazing in my 2004 Tacoma. Buttons are easy to touch, are responsive, and are sleek looking. Super easy install. Screen with Apple CarPlay is not laggy or slow at all. Would most definitely buy this product again and definitely from crutchfield.

Don't bother if purchasing for Apple Car Play and Navigation

2009 Ford Escape
Apple Car Play crashes constantly, when it does manage to connect using my iPhone 11 on iOS 15.5, the audio needs to be rapidly increased while the navigation is speaking in an effort for you to hear the directions. Although this will ultimately work, when you turn off your car, or unplug your phone you will need to repeat these steps each time you decide to use Apple Car Play and Navigation. Bluetooth worked for the first month, and subsequently stopped working after pairing and unpairing. Under the belief that my phone may be the issue tried my wife's phone to no avail. I have no similar issues when using my Factory Ford Ranger's Apple Car Play. As far as a radio, this thing is decent. The audio quality even with OEM speakers sounds great. The interface is decent enough although sometimes sluggish, but I guess its the trade off for price of the unit. If you intend to purchase this unit for Apple Car Play or Bluetooth, I would strongly suggest you find something else or spend a bit more. Note: Crutchfield's support is impeccable! This was my first time tackling a project on my own, and their instructions and technical support were top tier, and in no way is my displeasure of this purchase/product a reflection on them.
Pros: Price is reasonable. Radio and sounds controls are decent enough.
Cons: Apple Car Play works sporadically at best. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps will need to be constantly tweaked in order to hear directions. Bluetooth stopped working after a month.

This is the worst radio I ever had, the sound goes in and out, I don't listen to the radio anymore! Apple car play not any better it's annoying that I need to adjust the volume every time I use waze or Maps or when I get a message. I'm So disappointed I can't wait to get rid of this garbage, not worth the money I pay for.

2005 Ford F-150
I bought this unit for a 2005 Ford F-150. We were looking for something with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and we were also looking for a backup camera. This checked all the boxes. Installation was pretty easy, and the Crutchfield guides were fantastic. It's a good unit, but I have the following items that cost two stars: *Radio interface is cumbersome, it's not easy to change between "favorites" aka presets. *No physical volume knob or any other knobs. I wish electronics designers would get away from an all-touch interface. *No compatibility with remote controls. I'd like to mount a remote to the steering wheel for volume control but the only option is a Metra unit that's complicated to install and costs over a hundred bucks. *About a year after installing, the unit stopped changing radio stations. Crutchfield service is fantastic, I'll have a replacement right away, but it's still a quality issue.
Pros: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, Bluetooth, good sound quality. Good backup camera. Head unit allows for fine tuning of "guide" lines on screen for backing up.

Great Dissapointment

Even though it is a very easy interface and loved the design, It glitches and freezes often. The unit itself overheats and shutdown. I installed it in March of '21 and would only get used 4-6 times a month. Now it lights up and nothing happens, waste of money get something else now I have to buy a new one a year later.

Worked great for about 8-9 months. No complaints. Then one day it just randomly did not start up when I turned in my car. Went through trouble shooting and tech support. Unplugged it, reset it, re-wired the entire wiring harness, etc. and still nothing. It boots up when I start my car 10% of the time but even when it does, it will freeze and eventually shut off within 15-20 minutes. Spend money and get a better brand.
Pros: Worked great for 8-9 months. Car play worked well. Sounds good. Good call quality. Looks nice in the dash.
Cons: Does not last. Slow response on buttons. Volume buttons aren't as nice as having a dial to turn

2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty
This does the basic things I need/want a car stereo to do, e.g., connect to my phone to play music and show navigation, etc. All of that is fine. Here are some of the annoying things that make it less user-friendly: - Volume controls: It is very slow to respond when I press the volume buttons. I usually have to press the + or - buttons 5 or 6 times before it registers, and then it changes the volume all at once. This makes the stereo feel cheap, for what I paid for it. - Phone: The phone volume is too low when I have it connected via USB. It is much louder via bluetooth, so I routinely have to unplug it and reconnect via bluetooth. Also, several times I have had people complain they couldn't hear me, and it turned out to be because they were only hearing me through the phone mic. The stereo didn't connect to the phone despite being plugged in. - EQ presets: These are not super helpful. It would be great if you could start from, say, the Rock preset and adjust it a bit and save that preset. Instead, if you start adjusting the preset it kicks you back to the Custom, which is exactly the way you left it -- not helpful if you want most of a certain preset with slight adjustments. You have to recreate the Rock preset and make your adjustments, which requires going back and forth, trying to remember where each individual EQ fader was.
