JVC's DRVN Series has given us some impressive subwoofers for the car, but the CW-DR1040ML is their first foray into marine subs. This 10" outdoor-ready banger uses some of the same great tech as its landlocked counterparts, with some added features to make it ideal for your boat or other all-weather vehicle (such as a side-by-side, golf cart, or ATV). It handles up to 300 watts RMS (1,300 peak) and offers a 4-ohm load.

With JVC DRVN Series speakers, impressive sound is a given. But this powerful sub also give you attractive RGB LED lighting that'll add style to your boat or vehicle. JVC includes a handy remote control for adjusting the speed, color, pattern and brightness of the light.

Ready for the outdoors

Marine audio gear lives a pretty harsh life with sun, spray, salt, and extreme temperatures, plus the occasional fish that gets loose on the deck. The CW-DR1040ML is ready for all of it, with a tough polypropylene cone to pump out the bass and a rubber surround to keep things on track. The sub's designed for free-air use, allowing you to get creative with your installation on unusual vehicles, but it's also at home in sealed enclosures The included grille gives your sub a stylish look and helps protect it against random hazards on land or on the water.

IPX6 Rated: The JVC CW-DR10140ML offers a tough design that conforms to the IPX6 standard, so you can enjoy high-quality bass even under the harsh environment of marine and motorsports use. The IPX6 rating guarantees water and dust ingress protection, so the woofer can withstand marine and outdoor environments.

Note: The IPX6 rating is only for the woofer. The included remote control is not IPX6 rated.

10" Polypropylene Woofer: The CW-DR10140ML features a 10" polypropylene cone with rubber surround and resin molded frame basket. Its large magnet produces high braking force, while the 4-layer voice coil can handle a large amount of power input. In addition, the Magnetic Circuit, whose volume has been increased by 35% compared to the conventional design, has greatly increased the driving force to move the diaphragm. Plus, the durability of the vibration system has been greatly enhanced to handle the high input power of 300W RMS. This all results om clear and powerful bass sound reproduction.

LED Illumination: In addition to great bass sound, the CW-DR1040ML is also equipped with LED Illumination so you can choose your favorite color that suits your mood or music. Using the included remote control, you can from 21 different colors patterns with varying speeds and brightness. The LED illumination feature will require a separate hardwired power and ground connection.

Remote Control: The included RF remote can be used in sunlight and does not require direct line of sight to the subwoofer. It has a wireless range of approximately 98' (30m). The battery is powered by a single CR2025 3V battery that comes pre-installed.

Note: A 10' harness (4-pin) is included to link up to twelve CW-DR1040ML subwoofers, so you can control them all with a single remote. When linked the subwoofers will display the same color pattern. You cannot control subwoofers individually.

Mounting Options: The JVC CW-DR10140ML is designed for free-air application, but can also be installed in a sealed enclosure that measures 17.0" (w) x 17.0" (h) x 16.0" (d) with a 2.02 cu.ft internal volume and 9.1875" (diameter) mounting hole. The box should be made of 3/4" thick MDF (medium density fiberboard) or high density particle board. The grille is fixed and is not removable. The woofer is held in place by six screws.
