This radio looks like a higher end model, and you only realize it isn't when you figure out some functions you might expect are missing. Like, you can't change the wallpaper and there is no dimmer wire to tie into the car illumination. I thought that at this point dimmer functionality would be standard even on cheaper units. That said, it's still a pretty good value for the money. The sound quality is good. Bluetooth works well, pairing a phone is fast and pretty seamless. The hands-free is excellent, the best feature on this unit. The microphone is great and the sound is crystal clear. The wired-only screen mirroring feature is pretty useless. No idea why they bothered with it. It is only available when the parking brake is engaged, so you can't use it for navigation, which is really the #1 reason you'd want to mirror your phone screen in a car. It also requires a special app that asks twice for confirmation every time you connect it, but has no controls otherwise. And by default the phone screen displays portrait, so it's tiny. I will not say lack of CarPlay is a negative at this price point, but this feature in no way compensates. I have not used the backup camera. The installation is about the same as for any other double DIN unit. It is a little odd that the brake and reverse wires are sticking out of the back instead of being in the harness, and that the reverse lead doesn't come with a connector. This unit is exactly what I was looking for - a simple way to connect my phone to a nice touchscreen receiver, and also be able to mirror my phone for video display. Works great and is affordable.
Pros: Nice touchscreen, phone mic, full hookups for extras like a backup camera, amp, etc. Best things of all was Crutchfield documentation and tech support!!
Cons: Needs a usb plug and a phone app to do screen mirroring, but it works well.

Intuitive controls with nice, large easy-to-see display. The shallow mounting depth of the unit also allows for plenty of room for the wiring and RCA cable connections. Sound quality is great- tremendous improvement over the stock head unit it replaced.

200 honda Element. Great deck for the money . Easy install with the Metra kit. Literally 15 minutes to put the deck in the dashboard. Little more involved if you will be mounting the microphone. Get the pre-made harness , was worth every penny. Neatly done and makes it truly plug and play. Good replacement for a factory radio going bad with spending tons of money.

At this price point, this JVC is a solid unit - good sound, good radio signal sensitivity, pretty easy to configure, lots of equalization options, quick boot-up and bluetooth reconnect, sensitive touchscreen, good wired microphone. Head-and-shoulders above the previous, low cost unit Boss Audio unit we had tried.

I found this head unit by searching for the cheapest radio that fit my truck that supported Bluetooth 5.1 and this was the one. I wasn't' sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The unit is VERY responsive to touch, decent EQ settings etc. I do find the head unit to be a little limited in power, in comparison to my old unit, but that's ok for my need. Also by default this unit uses radio stations to set the clock and it took me a few days to figure out why the clock kept resetting. But otherwise as a ultra simple Bluetooth head unit this fits the bill nicely.

did all the wiring in the house were it was nice and warm then went out took out the old radio and replaced it with this one. The old mirror backup display no longer worked so this replaced that as well. With the crux integration and well done installation instructions it went in plug and play and everything worked. Top notch radio and it sounds great.

This is the second time this year I've used Crutchfield to purchase a car radio. And no different from the first time the customer service was excellent. The JVC unit I purchased is a great product with excellent sound and great screen resolution.
Pros: The install on this job was seamless less with the purchase of the Crutchfield ready harness. The JVC head unit is easy to set up and overall a great radio for the money.
Cons: The only thing I can think of so far is I have figured out how to change the background.

Installed in a 2006 Mazda MX5. The unit works wonderfully. The hands free phone sounds great on both ends, even with the car top down. The new head unit has made the remaining terrible OEM Bose system sound good. Installation in an MX5 can be a challenge. Charles in tech support should be a psychologist with his patience as he helped me through some of the installation quirks. Crutchfield's wiring harness service is money well spent.
Pros: Clean look. Bright screen. Easy to operate interface. Clear owners manual. Good hands free phone.

I haven't used it enough to give a full review, but everything I have experienced with this head unit has surpassed all of my expectations. Sound is great through my factory amplified Bose sound system in my 2003 Silverado. Touch screen is very responsive. Like the fact that the unit is a compact design that allows ample space behind the unit to hide the wiring interface in the dash! Steering wheel controls are quick and responsive as well. If you're looking for a budget conscious head unit that won't break the bank consider picking this stereo up you won't regret it!

It's all I thought it would be. Very good entry level head unit! No navigation, but screen mirroring let's you use your phone's GPS as well as play videos.
Pros: Easy setup, simple to use, screen mirroring with alternate wiring, sounds decent with factory speakers in my 97 Ranger.
Cons: Can't change the background, so you're stuck with red and that has to be the dumbest choice for a background I've ever seen.

I was looking for something simple with without all the bells and whistles. My vehicle doesn't have any backup cameras or anything so I didn't need anything super special. The menus are easy to navigate and understand. I only gave it four stars because I'm not a huge fan of how the volume up button works. After you hit volume level 15 you can't just hold it down anymore to keep cranking the music up. You have to tap it to turn it up

I bought this, and it's great for the price. Compared to similar stereo's in the upper price range this does all I need it to, and with Crutchfield's help selecting the right Pac interface was easy install. This stereo unlike other's in the higher price range didn't need a datalink adapter's which can get pricey. I put this into my 2012 f150 xlt and was able to retain all the steering controls, and phone buttons on the wheel. It boots up quickly, looks very nice, still new to me so figuring out all the options that go with it, so only time will tell.

The receiver is actually a pretty good receiver. Has a lot a functionalities. There is one minor thing- the clock on it does not like the same time. Other than that it has the functionality to do what I need to do which I like.

This was one of the more cheaper models I saw to replace my factory stereo. I wasn't expecting too much from it considering the price but I was definitely wrong. I got it installed and the eq section on this unit is awesome not only the preset ones but once you start moving the sliders up and down you can really hear the difference. As far as the looks and functionality of the unit it's pretty good. The only con I can say is it would be nice to change the color of the background but that's not that big of a deal really. And it's pushing my factory speakers really good.

wiring harness was a mess, but once I sorted it all out and tied it together to make it user friendly it was fine.
Pros: Crutchfield was great, decent price and quick delivery
Cons: JVC needs to make harnesses look less like a rats nest and more user friendly

Great product, as an open return the quality of the radio was perfect had no blemishes or signs of previous use.
Pros: instructions made radio work as expected
Cons: can get to loud for a 17yr. old driver
