Poor Wireless Carplay and Android Auto

I've had the KW-M875BW installed for almost a year now. The touch screen is responsive enough and the OS is pretty snappy. But, the wireless connection for both Carplay and Android Auto is horrible. Do not buy this is you intend to use wireless Carplay or AA. I have to use it wired or it'll drop out constantly.

Have had continued problems with touch screen, already had it replaced once by warranty, second unit doing the exact same thing about a month and a half later. Of course second unit fails after 1 year warranty expired. Still trying to figure out what do, unit was not cheap.

Great value to modernize my audio system

Bought this unit to replace the factory cassette receiver in my 1998 Boxster. I've always appreciated JVC for their quality at a reasonable price, and this unit had all the features I wanted - touch screen, car play, android auto, satellite radio and an integrated mic. The sound quality was an immediate improvement over the factory unit, the car play interface syncs and works seamlessly both wired and wireless. And as always, Crutchfield comes through with detailed instructions for factory unit removal and installation, making it an easy DIY job. Very pleased with the purchase. Only downside is the glare of the sun can make the screen difficult to see in the convertible.

Best Bang for you Buck

Awesome bang for your buck. It has all the features of the high end units for half the price. The foot print of this unit is shallow allowing for plenty room to mount all kinds of accessories behind it. Forgot to mention, purchasing from Crutchfield means free shipping, all hardware needed is recommended at the time of purchase, and all documentation is available online. what more can you ask for.

Installation was a breeze in my '05 Chevy Silverado. One nice feature of this head unit is that it's shallower than other double din units so I didn't have to take a hacksaw to the inside of my dash to fit it. Overall the features are great, Android Auto is so nice to have in my truck now, the sound output from the stereo is fantastic and the camera interface is nice (I added a separate rear view camera). Coming from an early 2000's Pioneer double din head unit, this is a fantastic upgrade and I'd easily suggest it for anyone looking to update their vehicle's stereo!

Quality

This unit is a huge upgrade from.our old single deck. Works great, sounds great. Paired easily with my ohone. The screen clarity is crisp & the touchscreen responds quickly. We don't have cameras so can't review on that, but the features we do access work flawlessly.

Works great!

I installed this unit myself and it works great! The touch screen display is very intuitive and my stock toyota speakers sound great compared to the OEM setup. The only downside, and this is nitpicky, is that no matter where I program my display for angle of view there is a bit of glare on sunny days. The plug in cable for the antenna could also use a few more inches to make the install easier.

Better than Factory Sync3

Install was pretty easy and relatively quick in my '16 F150. Factory radio did not have CarPlay, so this was definitely with it in that respect. Screen is too dim on bright, sunny days, both overall everything functions quickly and smoothly. Installed with the Maestro RR and the factory backup camera does not work. Also not able to use the vehicle gauges feature as I get an OBD2 error. All in all, it's an upgrade from the factory radio but at the cost of losing my backup camera and a dim screen on bright days.

Great unit.

Installed in a 2015 Nissan Titan. I bought this for the use with my Android phone. I'm impressed with the wireless Android auto. I also have a 2021 Explorer with Android auto, the only feature I miss is being able to push a button on the steering wheel to activate Google. I used the Maestro adapter. It works great. I did have to mount a new external microphone since it did not use the factory mic, and had to mount and external GPS thingy. Screen is responsive and quick, boots up quick despite the annoying 10 second warning. Factory back-up camera integrate great. All steering wheel controls work. I had to get creative with the USB port and routed the cable through an used switch spot.

Huge upgrade over stock RAM head unit

Really nice head unit. Car Play works well both wirelessly and wired. Install was easy and flawless with the recommended installation items from Crutchfield. Installed in a 2020 RAM 2500 Promaster Van.

Excellent system

Installed in my 2004 Nissan 350Z. Overall, very simple installation with the instructions provided by Crutchfield. Sound is fantastic and having all of the modern, hands free features makes my little convertible that much sweeter.

Great head unit the does everything

Great head unit. Very responsive really enjoy the EQ and the ease of making changes. Great update to a tired factory head unit.

Good stereo

Pretty good stereo. There are a lot of nice features on it. The EQ is great. Only thing I would mention is the space to connect the type c and micro HDMI cables on the back of the receiver is not very big so while I was able to attach the type c extension cable it came with I was not able to fit any of the micro hdmi cables I had in the slot. I might try to find another cable that will fit the hdmi slot in the future. Also when using the type c cable that came with the unit on my android phone the charging is either hit or miss. Sometimes it charges good and sometimes it does not. Overall it is a nice unit with a lot of good features and I would recommend it to other people.

Great Unit

Have been super happy with this unit in my '14 Focus ST1. The wireless Android auto works great. Was using a LOC prior to installing this unit with an old Boston Acoustics amp and Infinity Kappa components and sound quality has vastly improved over the stock head unit. Some might complain about the screen bring resistive touch but living in Minnesota where we wear gloves 6 months out of the year, I actually prefer it.

I've lived with this head unit for a week now and have nothing but good things to say. Installation was straightforward and uneventful. The unit and screen are fast to come on and respond quickly to inputs. There is a little lag between using steering wheel control forward/back buttons, but steering wheel volume control is instant. The interface is mostly intuitive. My only complaint is a side menu on the radio page uses TI, SSM, and PTY like everyone should know those initialisms. There was room to be more descriptive. No regrets and no real complaints with this purchase.
