Features

Dynamic Balance Drivers: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion. Using just the right materials enables Polk to eliminate issues that reduce speaker performance and tune out performance-robbing resonances before they occur. Dynamic Balance ensures a rich, clean, full-range sound no matter what you're listening to. The Polk Signature Elite ES60 floor-standing loudspeaker incorporates a Dynamic Balance two-way driver array with one 1" tweeter and three 6.5" woofers.

  • Hi-Res 1" Terylene Tweeter: The Signature Elite ES60 floor-standing loudspeaker utilizes Polk's newly designed 1" Terylene tweeter to deliver clear and detailed high-end response for realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments. It will support high frequencies up to 40kHz to perfectly reproduce the latest high-resolution audio files with improved audio extension, earning Hi-Res Audio Certification.
  • Triple 6.5" Mica-Reinforced Polypropylene Woofers: The Signature Elite ES60 floor-standing speaker employs three 6.5" Dynamic Balance low distortion mica-reinforced polypropylene cone woofers for clean, clear bass, better linearity, and increased dynamic midrange and midbass. This mica-reinforced polypropylene woofers feature butyl rubber surrounds, massive ceramic motor structures, and high-temperature Conex fiber spiders that combine to create drivers of exceptionally high efficiency, for clean, clear bass, better linearity, lower distortion, and greater durability.

Phase-Optimized Precision Crossover: The Signature Elite Series floorstanding speaker employs a high-performance two-way, phase-optimized precision crossover (2.0kHz) for seamless blending and optimum time alignment of the tweeter & woofers, creating a lifelike soundstage.

Power Port Technology: The Signature Elite ES60 floor-standing incorporates Polk's Power Port technology with a specially designed down-firing port. Power Port technology smoothly transition air flow from inside the speaker into your listening area for deep, extended bass impact while minimizing turbulence and distortion. Polk's patented Power Port technology delivers 3dB more bass response than a traditional ported speaker. Because the port is located on the bottom of the floor-standing speaker, its not necessary to position to the loudspeaker a certain amount of feet from wall - giving you greater placement flexibility.

Non-Resonant Enclosure: The floor-standing speaker's strong, rigid and acoustically inert enclosure reduces unwanted internal standing waves for less audible coloration. And non-resonant Meddite MDF construction, extra bracing, and a thick front baffle ensure a more lifelike sound. The enclosure's curved edges not only look cool, they reduce standing waves inside the cabinet for less audible coloration. The enclosure comes in a beautiful black, white, or walnut wood-grain vinyl finish.

Anti-Diffraction Magnetic Grille: The Signature Elite ES60 includes an anti-diffraction magnetic grille for unaltered sound. The integrated magnets make it easy to attach and remove the grille from the floor-standing speaker.

Dual 5-Way Binding Posts: The floor-standing loudspeaker has two sets of 5-way binding posts connected by jumpers. Using the dual 5-way binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers. The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and banana plugs (single or dual). The speaker terminals are color coded for easy identification between positive (red) and negative (black).

  • Bi-Wiring: Bi-wiring can provide noticeable improvements in the overall transparency of your loudspeakers. Run separate speaker wires to the low & high frequency drivers from a single amplifier (the upper set of binding posts are for the high frequency drivers; the lower set of binding posts are for the low frequency drivers).
  • Bi-Amping: Bi-amping allows you to use separate amplifiers for the high & low frequency sections of your loudspeaker for greater dynamic range & lower distortion. We recommend that your separate amplifiers have identical gain to preserve the speaker's voicing balance.
Note: If you decide to bi-wire or bi-amp, you must remove the jumpers between the terminal posts (failure to do this could result in damage to your amplifier and loudspeakers).

Dual-Floor Compatible Feet: Customized for improved stability and bass coupling to the floor, the floor-standing loudspeaker's feet are designed for both carpet and hard surface floors. The feet come pre-installed and should not be removed.

Application & Placement: The Signature Elite ES60 floor-standing speakers can be used as front and/or surround speakers in a home theater setup. They can also be used in a simple stereo application. If your AV receiver offers built-in bass management, the ES60 should be set to "Large" for an unfiltered, full-range audio signal.

  • Placement for Front Speakers: As a pair of front speakers in a home theater or stereo setup, create an equilateral triangle between the speakers and the listening position - with the speakers placed as far apart from one another as the listeners are sitting from them. You may also choose to angle the speakers toward the middle to support a more solid center image.
  • Placement for Surround Speakers: As surround speakers, the ES60 should be placed on a side wall slightly behind the listening position. If you cannot place the speakers on the side walls, position them on the rear wall just behind the listening area.

Signature Elite Series: Polk designed its Signature Elite Series of loudspeakers to bring a big surround sound and a live music experience into the comfort of your living room at an affordable price. Featuring Hi-Res certification with a new high-resolution Terylene tweeter, redesigned Dynamic Balance drivers, precision crossovers, an anti-diffraction magnetic grille, modern cabinet styling and exclusive Power Port bass enhancing technology, Polk's Signature Elite series loudspeakers deliver crystal clear highs, detailed midrange, and deep bass; plus they look great in almost any decor. The Signature Elite Series by Polk consists of three floorstanding speakers, three bookshelf loudspeakers, one center-channel speaker, one LCR speaker, and a height-module speaker.

Note: You may also want to add one of Polk Audio's powered subwoofers (sold separately) for even more bass response.

Customer Q&A

Q
will the polk audio signature elite es60 speakers work well with my cambridge audio axr 100 receiver ?
michael  Jan 20, 2025
1 answer
A
Greetings Mike. Thank you for your question. In general, most all speakers will be rated for more power than most consumers will have. Cambridge Audio has a very under rated and clean amplifier in the AXR100. These speakers will sound fantastic with it.

Q
1) Running a Denon s760h (Costco special) will these work well? 2)Switching from a pair of JBL S38II, will these provide a sonic upgrade for Hi-Fi and Cinema?
darby  Nov 23, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Darby. Thank you for your question. I have no reason to believe the Polk Audio ES60's would not pair well with your Denon. As far as a sonic upgrade, we would be unable to compare a current speaker with an older discontinued speaker, but new technology in speakers, I would lean towards they would be.

Q
Hello, will the Sony STR-DH790 AV Receiver drive these speakers? Thanks!
steven  Nov 17, 2024
1 answer
A
The Sony STR-DH790 can power the efficient (90dB) Polk Audio Signature Elite ES60 speakers well, Steven. The Sony will also allow you to pair a matching Polk Signature center channel, surrounds, and Atmos speakers for 7-total speakers in your home theater system!

Q
Will these work with a NAD C 326 BEE?
timothy  Mar 01, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Tim. Thank you for your question. The C326BEE has good clean power, and under rated as well. I think it will run these fine.

Q
Hello I own infinity ovation 3 speakers with a power subs can you tell me how Polk ES60's compares with them? I have Yamaha Rx-1080 theater receiver. I been happy with my infinity speakers for years but I have been thinking of upgrading for something that would give me better performance.
al  Dec 15, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Al. Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, I cant think of anyone here that might have heard your Infinity's. Speakers do evolve over years, and sound better and better with new generations that come out. I think if you give these ES60s some good clean power you will hear great bass reproduction.

Q
I own the RTiA7 & am happy with them. How do the Signature Elite ES60 compare?
joe  Oct 28, 2022
2 answers
A
I know this is an older post/question but we used to have the RTIA7's and never could get the sound right from them. Had them about 2-3 yrs before selling for the Polk Signature S60's and the difference is night and day. We ended up buying the rest of the Signature line to go with them including 2 of the 10" Polk Subs HTS. We have an open living room with a vaulted ceiling and about 16' x 22' and the Signature line is excellent. The Elite's are probably the same if not better.

I am not familiar with RTIA7 and there fore can't compare the two.But I can tell you that they are great speakers and I am very happy with them

These are voice matched to the original Polk Audio Signature series speakers.

Q
can i power these with the onkyo tx rz50?
runako  Sep 14, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Runako, thanks for the question. So the RZ50 has plenty of power to drive these speakers and the high output amperage on board makes it a rather easy push as well. Great matching!

Q
I have a vintage Pioneer SX-850 receiver. Output is 65 watts per channel. Is my receiver powerful enough for these speakers and how well will the pair up sound wise? Thank you!
michael  Aug 19, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Mike, and thank you for your question. Speakers are rated for much more power than most people can give them. Efficiency of a speaker determines if a lower powered receiver has enough for them. These speakers are average on efficiency. Your Pioneer will run them fine, but you would get more from a higher efficiency speaker.

Q
How would these compare to Polk Monitor 70s? I currently have an old pair of the 70s (original series). I'm not unhappy with the 70s, but am wondering if these would be a significant upgrade?
victor  May 29, 2023
1 answer
A
If you love your Polk Monitor 70's these would be a nice upgrade, Victor. You can expect the same smooth tone and playback quality you would expect from Polk, but the upgraded 1" Terylene high-res dome tweeter is going to make a huge difference to provide additional sparkling hi-hats, cymbals, and the higher vocal range on your music of choice! The Signature Elite ES60's play all the way up to 40k HZ, Hi-res rated for any streaming services you may be using that has a greater quality source file. If you are using traditional resolution sources (Vinyl, CD, MP3 streaming) you can expect greater detail and clarity than you have with your current Monitor 70's. We have the exact same sensitivity, so your current amp or receiver will perform well with the new models, no sweat!

Q
Can these speakers be driven with the BlueSound power node @ 80 watts per channel ?
john  Jan 17, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings JohnB, and thank you for your question. The Powernode has about the same power as a lot of integrated amplifiers. I know the speakers are rated for 300 watts, but 99% of the population will not have nearly that kind of power. 80 watts will run these Polk speakers nicely.

Q
I have a Sansui 7070 with 65w per channel. Will it be enough to push the Polk ES60 speakers? I like my music on the louder side. Thanks.
rob  Apr 03, 2025
1 answer
A
These speakers have a decently high sensitivity which means as long as the Sansui has given you the volume levels you seek with a few other brand speakers, then it should with these speakers too. Also, we do have product advisors that can discuss all this to give a personal recommendation if the setup will work for your preferences.
jason  Apr 03, 2025 (Staff)
Q
Will the Sony DH 590 have enough power to push these ES60s? Does will the 6ohm receiver be an issue with these 8ohm speakers?
tom  Feb 27, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Tom, yes, that receiver is stable down to 6-ohm but will be able to push 8-ohm speakers with ease. The power output on that Sony is pretty solid and can drive those Polks to some good volumes for both music and movies. The Polks can technically be driven harder with a bigger amp but the Sony will be perfectly adequate for most uses.
red  Feb 27, 2025 (Staff)
Q
Are these towers in need of separate bass cubes? And if so, with the right amp, I should be able to power two bass cubes?
corey  Dec 14, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Corey, thanks for the question. So these Polk towers have a respectable bass freq extension so depending on the room, and how much power we have available to drive these speakers, you may not find yourself in need of a separate powered sub. That being said, some folks really want more extension into that bassy range so a sub can never hurt but this comes down to preference and needs. We have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help recommend the best receiver and sub for your goals.

Q
Will these speakers pair well with the Yamaha R-N800A?
keith  Feb 19, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Keith. The RN 800A has good clean power. Polk speakers are pretty efficient. Theyb can take up to 300 watts, but getting that kind of power from an amp, costs a good bit. I think they would pair well, personally.
thomas  Feb 19, 2024 (Staff)
Q
I have a Yamaha A-S801 amplifier with A, B, and A+B outputs. Can I drive this speaker with A connected to the upper posts and B connected to the lower posts and the jumpers removed? I am currently running a 2.1 system with Polk ES20's but would like to open up the soundstage and also ditch the subwoofer.
david  Aug 27, 2023
1 answer
A
Thank you for your question, Andrew. You can bi-wire these speakers to your Yamaha S801, since it's 4-ohm stable and these Polk speakers are 8-ohms. If you decide to bi-wire, you must remove the jumpers between the terminal posts (failure to do this could result in damage to your amplifier and loudspeakers).

Q
How do I find out if I could do payments ?
dannyjones  Jan 04, 2023
1 answer
A
We do offer a 3-way installment plan split with a credit check required, Danny. It costs a $10 dollar installment plan fee and we do collect the total tax amount for the order on the first payment. The best way to check is to call us at 1-800-324-9695 and an Advisor can set up your order and information! The installment plan is a great way to spread out large purchases, like a pair of fantastic Polk ES60's.
bo  Jan 05, 2023 (Staff)
Q
I'm looking at using these for a 2.1 system and bi-amp them with an emotiva basX A4 4 channel amp that puts out 100 watts at 8 ohms per channel. Is that a good plan for these speakers? Or would the 2 channel amp putting out 160 watts per channel at 8 ohms be better?
jonathan  Dec 28, 2022
1 answer
A
Both amplifiers would be perfectly fine to run those Polk speakers but getting the extra boost from the Emotiva amp might better help drive your speakers even if you are just listening to them at a moderate level. You can get clarity and accuracy without having to crank your volume up high.
