Great sound at a reasonable price point.

Great sound, especially for music. Love the adjustable center speaker that enable clear television dialogue that I could never achieve with a much more expensive Yamaha receiver. Easy setup - took me less than 10 minutes. And the price point seems very reasonable for the sound quality.

Exceeds expectations!

This is one of the best all around sound bar systems. The clarity of vocals and full bass make this system ideal for almost anything. I would recommend this for sound and ease of use/install to everyone.

For the most part very nice at that price point.

I'm giving it four stars primarily for two reasons. Number one the display is very small on the bar and very difficult to read from your seat meaning that every time you want to change something you have to stand up and walk over to the bar. Secondly when you enhance the voice you can definitely hear a difference the only problem it only has four settings for voice enhancement, which sounds like a lot but it really isn't. It would be nice if it had at least six to eight to be a real game changer for people that have dialogue issues. Listening to TV and TV mode is just like any other bar in my opinion. It can bring some nice immersion into the room when you're playing music or watching a movie, even though you have to use quite a bit of volume to get it out. Polk Audio does not give their power output numbers or their frequency response numbers. That's interesting.

Polk Audio MagniFi MAX AX SR

I explained to Chase what I had and what I wanted to do with my LG65OLED tvto replace an older Yahama receiver and a 25 yearold set o5 speakers and the sub that was 25 years old. Chase had me look at this soundbar with rear saffellites and a sub. And WOW!!!!! I am excited to put this system together and immediately have some of the best sound that I never expected. I have removed my Yamaha receiver, one sub, one front center abd front Left and right as well as two rear Polk speakers that are 25 years old. The change in the audio of my systems has inproved tenfold.

Better than TV speakers

Setup was a breeze! Sound wise it beats the heck out of flat screen internal speakers but for me it lacks in surround sound effect. Subwoofer lacks the punch i was hoping for and I knew it as soon as I picked it up out of the box. The weight just was not there. My wife doesnt want a real life surround sound system in our den so this was the compromise. Bottom line, i can live with its but I do have a degree of disappointment.

Exceptional bass, great sound

Love this setup. Very easy to connect. Great sound with wireless connections. Connected easily with my Samsung tv. Compatible with the Samsung tv remote. Would recommend this to anyone who doesn't like wires everywhere, and Crutchfield pricing no one else could match. Highly recommended.

A challenge to wall mount

I have to have a wall mounting below my TV. This soundbar would be fine on a flat surface but is not a good option for a wall mount. No hardware is supplied. It is too big and heavy for readily available brackets. Crutchfield tried to help but had no options. Polk could not help. Had I known when I ordered it what I know now I would have bought something else. That is on me. Don't make the same mistake if you need a wall mount

An Exceptional Soundbar For The Price Point

The Polk Audio MagniFI replaced a JBL 3.1 soundbar that I used for a number of years. I cannot find fault with the JBL soundbar during the time I used it but the Polk offered more capabilities (wireless surround sound, height speakers, and a bigger subwoofer). I would still recommend JBL products but the Polk offered all the soundbar points I looked for at an excellent price point. The Polk Soundbar arrived well packaged from Crutchfield and Polk. I recommend that you carefully review the Polk's, outside the box, equipment removal instructions, in the event you have to return the product. I also recommend printing the equipment instruction manual, located on the Crutchfield website, prior to setting up the soundbar. I found equipment setup very straightforward and with no issues. With a little bit of experimentation, I easily found the surround, bass, treble, height, and voice settings we wanted for our living room. So far, I have no qualms about the overall sound quality and I enjoy the enhanced, surround sound experience, via the wireless surround sound and height speakers. I must commend the excellent advice and information the Crutchfield advisor provided me before I decided to purchase this product.

Nice upgrade that doesn't break the bank.

While just a week into listening to my new soundbar, I am very pleased. I replaced my LG due to a blown subwoofer and across all frequencies the sound is a great improvement. Deep base even at low volume and voice is clear and rich. I am still exploring all the features, but overall I am extremely please with this product. Also, a big thank you to Rex for all his patient help during the buying process.

Very good soundbar for the price point

Overall sound is impressive. Good performance for the price point. There are other soundbars available with better sound but at a much higher price. Good spatial surround for a system with rather small rear speakers. Bass can be overwhelming but you can tune this via the remote. Dolby height effects could be improved but that is probably room dependent and maybe adding top firing speakers to the rears might enhance the experience realizing this will add some additional cost if that happens. Tried a competitors bar but didn't work well so the Polk fits well. Would recommend this to all for a sub $1000 system

Good value, easy set-up, sound so-so

Switching out an existing receiver-based 7.1 surround system (equipment broke down) and decided it would be good to reduce the system footprint by moving to a soundbar setup. Had some decent experience with Polk in the past and this seemed like a great value so gave it a try. Pros: Purchased via Crutchfield, so of course ordering was simple and it beat the delivery date. Incredibly easy set up. After the hookups, I didn't have to do anything. It simply recognized my 6 year old Samsung TV and automatically set up and worked and TV remote worked without learning thru the eARC. Good job with voice isolation (adjustable). Decent output on the sub in a medium space. Low profile is barely noticeable. Remote is clear and easy to use. Decent highs. Cons: Didn't realize the presets are not adjustable (i.e., TV, stereo, music, movie, night), all of which could use fine tuning for my taste. Also, no manual tuning or equalizer so have to stay with presets. I suppose the point is to make it as easy as possible to use. So a con to me, maybe not others. I like to control the sub separately from the rest of the system but not possible. Sound quality does not even come close to a receiver powered system. Not sure if that's a con but the comparison to the old system is disappointing. Amazing sound quality rivaling much more expensive systems!

What a difference from our old Samsung soundbar! We were looking for better audio quality from our TV soundbar and what better brand to go with, but Polk Audio! Not only do we get amazing sound quality for our movies and TV shows, but we also have our old turntable and CD player set up on the soundbar and the audio quality reminds me of my old component sound system! My only complaint is with the small remote speakers. They do not provide the same audio quality as the soundbar speakers and sub-woofer.

I had an older Klipsch sound bar and sub. This Polk beats it! Very immersive surround sound. Settings are customizable and the presets do a great job. Sub woofer and back speakers enhance music and make movies like your in them.

Easy to setup, spectacular sound

Setup was a breeze (once I identified and replaced a defective an HDMI 2.1 cable). Sounds spectacular, and the surrounds and bass are well balanced. The surround sound works both in movies and games. I would suggest passing signals as such: Source->Polk MagniFi MAX->TV. This gave it 100% compatibility with all its listed codecs. But if you try to pass it like Source->TV->Polk MagniFi MAX, it will lead to an audio delay, as well as some incompatibilities in video/audio codecs. This soundbar is everything I wish my last soundbar was. The only odd thing about this soundbar is my XBSX detects it as being incompatible with HDR video and games, and all surround sound codecs... but they all seem to work. I got an HDR10+ with EAC3 5.1 to direct play via the XBSX Plex app, and BG3 also works in HDR w/ surround sound. So I think its just something about the way the Xbox detects your home theater setup, but it doesn't actually negatively impact performance at all.

I should make clear at the outset that this setup was not purchased for music. There's a high-end audio setup 15' away in another room through a 6' open doorway, so it's not reasonable to expect the Polk setup to compete with that. The Polk was purchased to provide a more immersive experience when watching movies and concerts, and it does that well for its price point. Bass response is what can be reasonably expected for that subwoofer, and overall I consider it to be a credible effort by Polk to provide good value in this price bracket. Clarence was of great help with his depth of technical knowledge.

Small wonder

In our small home the system beautifully replaces traditional surround sound equipment of good quality (Denon, Polk). We've been very surprised. We had a little trouble at startup, and then the system just worked and blew away our concerns. Simplicity with great sound. And customer service was at the same exceptional level throughout.

Exceptional Surround Sound Speaker system

Looking for a very good wireless Home Theater system. This is the one. Nicely priced and sounds outragous. Each speaker needs an outlet to power these speakers. The equipment needs the power to truly enhance the system. Other wireless speakers, are often to weak and get "old" after a few years..

Awesome sound bar system for the price

Amazing set up for a relatively narrow room. Sound quality is outstanding and the bass from the subwoofer is awesome. Super easy to setup. If you are going to wall mount it, make sure to buy a good mounting hardware set up. The screws that are included really aren't a great option to hang the soundbar on.

Good kit

Great kit that is let down by the sub. Or the sub is just overshadowed by the rest of the system. TV is great, movies are great and music is even better. Easy to set up, easy to use. Quality seems top notch. Maybe too many of the reviews I read spoke about great, thundering bass and I had unrealistic expectations going in but the bass is just so so.

Oh Ya...Polk all the way

I love my Polk set up. This system rocks and i mean i am old school 70s rocker and this thing is unreal. Turn it up to 10 and it will make your ears bleed. What quality: and it never loses any as the dial goes up. Am i glad i got this Polk system...absolutely.

An Easy One-Box Sound Solution to Go with New TV

This system was extremely easy to set up and sounded fantastic right out of the box. Customizing sound settings is easy, and I couldn't be happier with the rich sound quality. The sub delivers tight and loud bass, and the wireless surrounds are a great addition to the room. Highly recommend this system!

Super clear vocals

I have really enjoyed this system! Although our living room isn't huge, it is an open concept into the kitchen. This system worked really nice for the space and was both loud enough and clear enough that I had no problem watching TV while in the kitchen. It was easy to move and recalibrate the surround speakers when necessary.

Top-Shelf sound bar!

Huge upgrade from LG SH5B. The surround speakers make all the difference! Nice subwoofer too. Hooked up easily, linked immediately. Toughest part was taking a few minutes to route the power wires into speaker stands for the surrounds.

Great, economical sound bar system!

A great system! I had actually returned another sound bar system because I couldn't hear the dialogue as well. This system has a great dialogue focusing program that allows me to hear dialogue and turns down the action sequences. The rear speakers also allow for All-Channel stereo for news and other programs. I was concerned about the lack of calibration feature until I set the system up and realized that it was already calibrated! Easy set up and priced appropriately.

Dont Settle for Just a Soundbar

The surround speakers and sub make all the difference. Don't settle for just a soundbar. I returned a stand alone soundbar because it didn't add enough of what I wanted. For its cost this system delivers a sound that totally immerses you in your favorite movies with effects coming from all around you. Set up and enjoy.

Polk rocks!

This has got to be the sleeper soundbar of the year. This soundbar performs very well. Has everything you need. Plays Dolby Atmos , DTS;X and just about every other sound codec you can play. Has a great sounding 10 inch subwoofer and rear speakers. Bluetooth for music. Has 3 HDMI inputs so you can plug your SACD 4K blueray player directly to it and it actually plays true PCM5.1 with a SACD! Full adjustments on the remote and i mean complete adjustments. bass,treble, heights, surrounds, voice,sound modes, info button to check incoming codecs, has 5 or 6 sound modes you can use and all do make a difference. I have recently owned the JBL bar1000, Bose smart soundbar 900 with bass module 700, Sony HT-Z9F with rear speakers, Samsung HW-Q900A, Klipsch Cinama 600 with rears and a few others and this Polk MagniFi Max AX SR does everything these other can't do and sounds better then any of these others. I sent them all back for one reason or another. Not this one. All content source from 4K Bluray player, streaming from TV apps, TV thru youtube TV all sound full and immersive. Was going to try the Sennheiser Ambeo plus with subwoofer next but after taking a chance and hearing what this Polk MagniFi can do and it cost less the half what the Ambeo cost there is no reason to. No one talks about Polk when it comes to soundbars "but" they should! Like i said i just tried the new JBL bar1000 2 weeks ago and it can't hold a candle to this Polk soundbar!!

Sounds great. I really like that each channel pair can be adjusted as needed to match the main left and right channels. The different sound modes work well even though I mostly leave it in movie mode. It does have an "all channel stereo" mode as well which is a nice feature to have. The display is hidden behind the fabric and goes off after about 10 seconds so it's not a distraction when watching tv. Another nice feature is the info button. It lets you know if the signal it's receiving is true Dolby or PCM. I'm very happy with this unit. No issues at all with the surround speakers or sub. Super easy setup. No app. Everything can be done with the remote. Crutchfield is great as well.

A PLUS PLUS

For all you thinking of purchasing a bar over a thousand bucks, save your $$$. You really need to check out this one. Polk Audio has certainly raised the bar, & I mean surround BAR! Hook up very easy, even I got this synced to my Google Nest. Just wake up & say Hey Google play music on my speaker to Spotify. Done deal! Must say the voice control for movies is a game changer for a 60+ year old. I must say however music is extremely well done, but movies are very much enhanced with the atmos effect. One might need to use the remote more it hit your soft spot but for the money I saved, the unit is a tremendous update to my LG oled with earc/arc ports. Enjoy!

Polk is better

System works very well. Easy to set up. One cable Earc to your tv and plug your cable box into the soundbar, plug your 4K HD DVD into sound bar, easy. Why other companies do not have more inputs on their soundbars is crazy. System is half the cost of Bose or Sonos and sounds as good. To boot it comes with rear wireless surrounds. Really works well.

I've tried several other lower priced soundbars and could not find one that didn't have serious flaws. None of them sounded good with music. This one sounds great. I've owned many Polk speakers in the past and this bar sounds like a set of Polk speakers. It has a balanced and uncolored sound. The subwoofer is large because it is an actual subwoofer. It extends down to about 35hz and has enough power to make you feel the bass. With the surround speakers it produces a true home theater sound field. Setup is easy and quick. Controls are a little simplistic, but the basics are all there and they're easy to use. This soundbar is the closest thing I've found to a separate surround system. Highly recommended.

Replacing the older magnify max. I have more than pushed it and it's exceptional. Fuller sound. Love the voice volume control. The sub hasn't shown any of the issues the previous one did when not actively in use. It is very strong. Getting used to the different remote control features is the only challenge so far.
