Sounds good under the helm of a pontoon. Wired both coils to 2 Ohms with 350W amp.

Had 2 of these mounted to the console of my boat making waves on a calm day sitting still. Boat subs are exposed to salt and sun daily, 3 years and 4 amps later, they are still flexing the rod holders. Bought 2 more for my SUV. In a ported box. These got me 18 noise complaints upto 1/2 mile away within 1 hour. Highly recommend.
Pros: Clean look. Rugged, durable construction. Tight, quality connections.
Cons: Overheats, but they still slappp. Probly my fault for pushing their limits.

Not impressed with this sub, purchased to replace a P1 15 trying to save space. Paired with an alpine 500 w 2 ohm amp. Tried in large sealed box, small sealed box, ported box. Just can't get this sub dialed in. Would not recommend to anyone who is looking for car use. Got a $30 JBL 12 on sale that sounds better then this one.
Pros: Sounds ok at low volumes.
Cons: Plastic basket, poor sound, distorted at recommended rms power

Bass is really tight and accurate. Driving with 500 watts at 2 ohm. Perfect for me, can't stand distortion.
Pros: Shallow mount. Works in .75 cf box.
Cons: Needs plenty of power (400-500 watts)

Running 2 ohm in a sealed enclosure with about 500 W RMS pushing it and it sounds very tight and accurate on my boat. Much better than the 10" Bazooka that was installed prior. Excellent customer service from Crutchfield!

Speaker basket is plastic. Had to use panhead screws because the supplied screws spread the weak plastic and wouldn't hold.

Great Subwoofer!

First off, for me anything audio always starts at Crutchfield. There is nothing bad to say about the company, great service, great products, you can't go wrong with them. As for this sub, I installed one in my GMC Sierra extended cab. I couldn't ask for anything more, the sound this sub puts out is unbelievable. I'm actually planning on getting a couple for my boat to replace what's on it now, since all Polk audio speakers are marine grade.

Amazing sub

2008 GMC Sierra
I insltallled this sub in an MTX Thunder enclosure on a 2008 GMC Sierra. The bass was clean, crisp, and loud. It was a big improvement over my previous sub and enclosure. This sub performs a lot better than it's size. Would purchase again.

Great sub... I am powering it with the Sound Ordinance M-1500 in the box Crutchfield recommended. It sounds amazing. Hits hard. Fast response if you listen to music with fast double bass and ultra deep lows for other styles. Can't go wrong with this speaker.
Pros: Great sound, good fast response
Cons: Can overheat with overpowered amp running 2ohm mono. Amp overheats too... Cut back bass a bit to prevent or just wait for the amp to cool and come back on from protection mode.

Clean bass

This Polk definitely handles more power than previous model. The bass is fantastic, incredibly smooth and rich. The responsiveness of the woofer is great also. I couldn't be more happier, its an awesome sound quality sub.
