Best sounding subs I've ever owned for precise musical replication. Been running these now for about 6 months. My build. Kenwood excelon DMM-X705 Phoenix Gold RX21000.1 1000w rms in 1 ohm Running 2 dvc's in parallel each sub is getting 500w rms Phoenix Gold RX2400.4 ab amp 75w rms x 4 2 Polk MM692 6x9's 75w rms each 2 Polk MM652 2 way 6.5's at 75w rms each I was in the game more back in the 90's when Phoenix gold and Polk were in their prime. I'm not disappointed with what I got, but not blown away either. Instead of the mid-grade line I had before, this time I went top end with double the watts! About 10 years back I had my rig stolen, so I'm trying to compare via memory. My memory tells me my old stuff was perhaps not better sq, but LOUDER! It could be I've gone def. It could be my sedan. Before I had smaller hatchbacks. I didn't like the lack of provided info. Suggested sealed box volume is 1.25 to 3.5 cf. WHAT? Those aren't even close. Until recently, and only here can you find the Thiele/Small parameters, probably not provided by Polk. I didn't know how to build my boxes. When I called, it took a while to get an engineer, finally he suggested .8 to 1 cf, not even in the range listed! I went with 1cf, not including bracing. When I listen to these right in front of them at low volume, they are so beautiful sounding. They disgrace other subs in sq. But I want more power, and these are maxed out. What can I say, I'm a bass head.
Pros: Exceptional Music Quality. Well engineered. Weatherproof. Nice looking. Handle more watts then listed.
Cons: No grilles available from Polk or anyone else. Lack of needed technical information from Polk. The subs are so light, I had to anchor them down to prevent distortion. Keep in mind I did not carpet them. They would jitterbug around, and the cone wasn't getting supported enough. I pushed down on one with my body weight and the distortion went away! I wish Polk made more powerful momo's with more db.

Bought 2 mm1242 dvc they are crazy loud in my ported box. I am driving them with almost 600 watts continuously. They take that wattage no problem. I am very happy with them.
Pros: Hit clean and very hard
Cons: None

A big surprise in a fairly small package.

This is a great subwoofer! Definitely underrated. For it to be such a shallow and lightweight sub it's surprising that it can handle so much power and put out some pretty deep lows. I'm pushing about 600 watts RMS to it and it takes it with no problem. I bought it replace my old Boston Acoustics G5-1244 that weighs almost 30 pounds. A much needed weight reduction as this only weighs 14 pounds. Crutchfield comes through again!!
Pros: Power handling, bass output, shallow mounting depth, lightweight
Cons: None so far.

Got this on a great deal. Had a polk sb4 sub 10-12 years ago and knew going up to the mm1 I wouldnt be dissappointed. Matched with polk db 4x6 and 6x9 with a 5 channel amp sounds amazing.
Pros: Can handle a lot. Living in Wisconsin where it gets to -25 regularly in winter and no issues
Cons: Have yet to find any!
