The BassLink brings together a 10" subwoofer, a 10" passive radiator (to increase efficiency and limit distortion), and an extremely efficient, specially designed 200-watt Class D amplifier that work as an integrated system. Special circuitry monitors voice coil position to maintain linearity at high power levels, so you hear loud, clear bass.

An array of controls will enable you to tweak your bass until it has just the thump you want. For optimum system blending, the low-pass filter is variable between 50-120 Hz (12 dB per octave), and a phase switch (0- or 180-degrees) is included. Adjust low bass impact with the bass EQ feature (-6 dB to +3 dB at 40 Hz). And you'll be able to put BassLink in a variety of in-vehicle locations, thanks to brackets that enable the rigid polymer box to be mounted vertically or horizontally. A wired remote with 16-foot cable allows you to adjust your BassLink's volume from your dash.

Features

Design: The BassLink brings together a 10" subwoofer (treated paper cone, foam surround), a 10" passive radiator (to increase efficiency and limit distortion), and an extremely efficient, specially designed 200-watt Class D amplifier that work as an integrated system. Special circuitry monitors voice coil position to maintain linearity at high power levels, so you hear loud, clear bass.

Enclosure Type and Materials: The enclosure is made of an acoustically inert polymer which is rigid enough to resist flexing and dampens any resonance.

Servo-Control: The servo-control system continually monitors the performance of the speaker and ensures that the amplifier delivers exactly the right amount of power.

Class D Amplifier: This unit has a built-in 200 watt Class D amplifier which is highly efficient and designed specifically for use with the subwoofer and passive radiator combination.

Auto Turn-On Feature: When the speaker level inputs are used, the system will automatically turn on and off with the radio. Note: The auto turn-on feature does not operate when the preamp level inputs are used, unless the remote turn-on lead is connected.

Low-Pass Crossover: The low-pass crossover frequency can be varied from 50Hz to 120Hz for a seamless transition between the output of this unit and that of the other speakers in the vehicle. The crossover has a slope of 12dB per octave.

Bass Boost: The amplifier includes a continuously adjustable bass boost from -6 to +3dB centered at 40Hz.

Phase Switch: Allows you to select normal or reverse for best bass.

Mounting: You will be able to put BassLink in a variety of in-vehicle locations, thanks to its compact size and mounting feet that enable the rigid polymer box to be mounted vertically or horizontally.

BassLink LC Remote Level Control

Overview: The BassLink LC allows you to adjust the volume of BassLink powered subwoofer.

Installation: The BassLink LC may be mounted under the dash or may be dismantled and mounted inside the dash for a factory appearance.

Under-dash Mounting: Select a mounting location that allows easy, safe access to the control while driving. The BassLink LC has mounting "ears" to use as a template for drilling pilot holes. Attach screws through the "ears" to secure the BassLink LC to the mounting surface.
In-dash Mounting: Disassemble the BassLink LC by removing the Phillips-head screws on the front, rear, and top panels. Remove the bottom and side panels and disengage the RJ11 connector from the back panel. Choose a mounting location that allows easy, safe access to the control, and provides 1-3/4" clearance behind the mounting surface. Drill a 9/32" hole in the mounting surface. Feed the BassLink LC's potentiometer (with the knob removed) through the hole and use the nut provided to hold the control in place.
Connecting to BassLink: Route the cable behind the dash or other interior panels and under the carpet. Do not route the cable outside the vehicle. Connect the cable on both ends.

Controls:

Gain Control: Rotary control that sets gain (variable from 250mV to 4V)
Crossover Control: Rotary control that sets the low-pass crossover point (variable from 50 to 120Hz)
Bass Boost Control: Rotary control that sets bass boost level (variable from -6 to +3dB, centered at 40Hz)
Phase Switch: Selects normal or reverse phase (0 or 180 degrees)
Power LED: The power LED glows red when the BassLink is on
Servo LED: The Servo LED glows green when the servo circuit has determined that the woofer has reached maximum excursion and power to the woofer has been modified to provide maximum performance. The LED should light momentarily during high-level bass transients. Note: Avoid adjustments that cause the LED to remain lit for an extended period of time

I tried tapping into my rear speakers with the green and violet wires. I spliced them and twisted, wire nutted, and taped. The rear speakers produce sound, the BL has power but produces no sound. Fuses are good, at first the Serv light would go on to the beat while it still had no sound. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Anyone out there try to make this unit easily removable? I have a Prius and the cargo space is at a premium. I'd like to be able to quickly remove the sub. I see no problem with the wiring, but am wondering specifically about the bolts to the floor.

Very simple to remove and leave the mounting bracket. 5 minutes tops.

I never put the bolts in the floor and it is just fine without them. It's pretty easy to remove but you just have to hook it up and connect, etc. Overall I am pretty happy with my bass link

4 screws should do. I think I used #10's to hold it down with sheet metal type screws. As for wiring.. my unit did not perform well using speaker level inputs. It probably depends on the head unit, but the preamp inputs work great for mine. I'm happy and it has actually delayed my purchase of a new F-150 truck since quality sound systems appear to be limited so far.

I have mine mounted to a rectangular piece of plywood, painted black. So easy a cave man could do it! But seriously, the weight keeps the sub stable, never moves or tips over.

Being a farmer, I can always dream up ideas. I would build a quick detachable bracket that could release from the bracket Bolted to the floor. Use a flat piece of metal with a couple of taps that stick out that you could use a small bolt with a wing nut that would allow you to leave a bracket installed in the trunk, and one that's always attached to the speaker and simply unscrew the wing nuts, unhook some quick connect wire jacks, and away you you go! I love the one by itself. But was offered another and upgraded door speakers to keep up with them. I've heard I would need a small amp in between them in order to not burn up head unit.

I would not recoment it , but yes. You will need to feed each, with one RCA connector from your sub out on your head unit. There are power issues and load issues that will also be of concern.

Crutchfield gave an amp wiring kit with my purchase. It came with all the wires plus a fuse. Yes there was a battery, ground and ignition (remote turn on). You also need to run the gain control wire from the basslink to a location on the dash or center console. This wire and control is included with the basslink. Then run an RCA wire from your radio to the basslink. The install was simple and it sounded good but the basslink quit working about a year after I bought it.

Jordan, Have a car stereo specialist install it for you. I originally bought the Bass Link 1 and had problems with it and I exchanged it for the Bass link 2 and also had it installed by a professional. They both suck. I am not kidding. Crutchfield customer service is great but this is a rare Infinity faulty product. I highly recommend you send it back and buy the JBL powered bass from Crutchfield. The price is about the same and it is a little bit larger but the sound is incredible. Jim

Also, a ground wire is needed. If I remember correctly, everything was included with the speaker, including a wired remote to control the output level (which I installed, but never really found a need to use it, after initially setting the subwoofer up according to the included directions). Btw, this sub sounds great! My kids keep asking me to turn the volume up so they 'can get a back massage', since it is in the trunk, right behind their seats.

Yes Jordan you would need Power cable with fuse, ground wire usually the same Gauge as power, I used ten on mine and auto turn on wire usually 16 so that it powers on with stereo. Remember your ground wire should not be too long (3 feet or lless) if not you may get engine Humm.

I listen to mostly rock. When I first got the BassLink it sounded great. About a year after I bought it it went out for no reason. I would not recommend the BassLink because it is not reliable. It is still installed in my truck and makes a loud pop on occasion but still won't work.

I works very well in our car. Normally it is turned down, while listening to talk radio. When it is time for music we turn it back up, and it Rocks! Great sound, very clear and accurate. I do not play music on "10" anymore, but this unit works great on "8-9"! Good luck!

This would be a great addition for extra bass. I had one that went out during warranty period and would not function. Crutchfield was great with the exchange. The second one they sent just went out after warranty was up. It sounded great while it worked but they do not work long. Get a different brand.

This sub has been an excellent addition to my car audio system. The sound is clean and surprisingly strong for a 200 watt sub. Installation is simple with an additional wiring kit (power cable, RCA cable, etc.) If you're looking for some added backbone for your existing system, this sub will do the job!

I had the same truck & the bass link will not fit under the rear seat. but it does sound great. when I had my dodge I had the bazooka bass tube 8 inch & it fit perfectly sideways under the backseat.

Probably not. I say this because it's thick, check the dimensions. And second, I had terrible results using the speaker level inputs using two different sources. Very distorted and very limited frequency range. On the plus side, I bought and installed a new head unit (radio) in my truck that has preamp outputs and the basslink performs great using the preamp inputs. With that said I love mine. Rock on!

I just purchased this unit. My aftermarket jvc which i also purchased from crutchfield, has a subwoofer out, a single rca plug. The back of this sub has a left and a right rca input, do i need to purchase a y adapter or am i ok with just a single plug?
