Edge-driven silk dome tweeters

Infinity employs an edge-driven design in their silk dome tweeters for a smoother, more open response and minimal distortion at high volume. The UniPivot angled tweeter design means you can rotate each tweeter up to 270° to aim them toward your ears, so you'll enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter also features a level control button so you can adjust the brightness to your taste.

Plus One+ woofer technology

Kappa's glass fiber woofer will hold its shape when the power's cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer either. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you lots of surface area — and a bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

Awesome power handling, no matter the system

These 3-ohm speakers boast ultra-high sensitivity so that you can power them with a factory radio or aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp. Either way, these speakers' low impedance safely takes advantage of every watt of power available for exceptional performance. Enjoy Kappa sound quality at any volume.

Features

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Edge Driven Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has an edge-driven silk dome tweeter. Edge-driven tweeters have better dispersion characteristics and allow for a lower crossover frequency than typical tweeters of the same size, which improves imaging. The result is improved vocals and musical clarity. The tweeter also has an output level switch; choose +0 dB (flat) or -3 dB.

UniPivot Tweeter: The tweeter is angled and can be rotated about 315° after installation. This allows you to direct the tweeters toward the listeners, very useful for speakers mounted low in a door.

High-Output Design: The high output 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extracts every watt from factory receivers, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4Ω speakers). The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers, designed to power a 3Ω load.

Terminals: The input terminals are set screws that will accept up to 12 gauge bare wire.

Hi, i've been looking at Infinity Speakers for my 2000 Ford Ranger Extended Cab. The other speakers say these will fit in the rear and front door, i've been looking at the infinity kappa 683XF and the infinity primus 683F, i want the infinity kappa speakers but its not saying it will fit in the front door, but the primus speakers will, however the top mount depth on both of these speakers match and the measurments are the same. Will the Infinity Kappa fit in the front door since the measurements are the same?

The Infinity Kappa 683XF's are not a fit in the front door location in your 2000 Ford Ranger, John. The magnet diameter is too large, and the tweeter sticks out too far to fit with the door panel reinstalled. To go with Infinity Primus speakers, using the 683XF in the rear and the 683F in the front is the best move.

Greetings Frank, thank you for your question. These Kappas cannot. The tweeters are wired and filtered thru the woofer, like most 2 way coaxial speakers are.

I have a 2012 F150 King Ranch with Sony factory System. The factory speakers are 4 OHM will this work with my Factory Sony system since the Infinity are 2 OHM? Or will it damage my Sony Factory Head unit?

The Infinity Kappa 683XF are 3-ohm impedance. Despite their high efficiency, I would recommend using Kappa series speakers with an aftermarket amplifier for the best performance. I wouldn't expect any issues with these damaging the factory Sony amplifier.

What amp do you recommend with these speakers?that I won't need to replace car alternator for a bigger one. I only have door speakers and aftermarket radio.

How would they match up with jl audio xd1000/5v2. Even tho the speakers are 3 ohm. With a Sony radio 5500?

Check the specs on the sony, if you can find them, and look for a minimum speaker impedence. Most likely they will work fine as long as you are not pushing the radio to the max. Then you just overheat the radio and get distortion. These are very good sounding speakers and efficient enough that you don't have to push a lot of power at them. Additionally speaker impedences are typically measured with DC. The actual impedence is lower up in the audio spectrum.

I'm gonna run a jail audio RD 905 two amp I have four of these infinity kappa's going in my Toyota Tacoma so far they sound beautiful just with the stock stereo I'm gonna run Sony ax 7000 Radio to match with this set up should sound beautiful you're on the right track make sure you run good quality oxygen free copper speaker wire and good power wires really makes a difference
