Upgraded from reference series by infinity to the Kappa speakers
Eric from Phoenix, AZ on 2/2/2025
1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty
My first experience with the Kappa line from Infinity. Been running the reference series in my 1999 F250 superduty super cab and loving them up till now. They served me very well, but these Kappas are even better! Great mid-bass and super clean crisp highs. Powering 2 sets of these Kappas with a Rockford Fosgate P400 x 4. This 4 channel Amp makes these speakers sound amazing! Better than the reference series and they sounded very good. I'll buy Kappas again. Rounding out the system are 2 - 12" shallow mount infinity reference subs powered by a RF 750x1 mono amp. Carson my Crutchfield tech rep was amazing and very helpful as they always are. Buy from Crutchfield and give the Kappa line some serious consideration.
Pros: Great fitment in the factory 6 x 8 space. Some of the best sounding speakers I've ever owned. They love a little power going to them. 3 year warranty.
Cons: None so far.

These speakers can rock! Great all around, but don't expect subs. Install was a bit custom as speakers are screw terminal while the shipped connectors for my vehicle were spade. No problem for me, but could have left someone else stranded.
Pros: Very loud speakers! Great audio as well! Feels great in the hand with a heavy magnet and good materials.
Cons: Screw terminal seems weird for a vehicle in motion. Would rather see blade or literally any locking type connector. Nit picking here, as these speakers are excellent!

Worth the price even if they were not on sale.

I have always wanted to get a set of kappas, as I've heard and seen good reviews. I was not disappointed, these speakers have made listening to music in my 2014 f150 crew cab fun again. The bass while not going deep sounds very nice. The mid range and highs are where these speakers shine. I will be adding an amp and sub soon.
Pros: Perfect fit and s.ound incredible
Cons: None

Good until they are not
John from Courtenay, BC on 2/17/2024
After about 22 months, one speaker would start to crackle, but turning the volume up would fix the crackle for a short period. Finally it stopped working after about 26 months. I took the door panel off today and looked at it. The tweeter was loose and it looked like it got hot around the center of the woofer. The warranty on the speakers is for 3 years, but I am from Canada. When I tried to call the number for infinity, the call did not go through. The message said something along the lines of me being outside of the area they covered. Stock speakers lasted about 6 years, these didn't last 2 years. Given the price, I was expecting a lot more. Based on my experience so far, I would choose a different speaker.
Pros: Look good and sound great for the first 2 years.
Cons: Tweeter rattled loose and woofer locked up.

Would have been a 5 star review if the instructions were better. Diskettes soils great, but no explanation was given for the range button for 0db or-3db selector. What different does it make in the sound? I can't tell!

High quality speakers that I would expect from infinity. The screw style speaker wire port is a massive improvement over slip on style posts.

Fit in the rear deck of my 2005 Mustang perfectly! They sound amazing! I wish they would have fit in the door too, but they are a little too tall. I have always been an Infinity fan since the 90's and these do not disappoint.

The Best
Crutchfield customer from ROCKINGHAM, NC on 1/5/2023
Let me start by saying Crutchfield customer service is the best of ANY business, of any kind, anywhere in the world. If you are not sure of the components to use, or where to start, then you have found yourself at the correct place. I ordered two sets of Infiniti research 6x8 speakers. I was not happy with those. Sent them back no questions asked and reordered Infiniti Kappa 6x8. These speakers sound awesome. One of the speakers was not working on arrival. Called Crutchfield and they sent another box of two speakers that were here in two days. While in transit the other speaker blew. Changed the one and replaced the other. Have not had a problem since. They are breaking in nicely and would recommend.
Pros: Great service
Cons: Durability?

Very impressed with these Infinity Kappa speakers! They fit my 2012 F150 doors perfectly. Way better full range sound than the Pioneer Speakers and Factory Speakers. Even without my subwoofer these speakers generate impressive low end response.
Pros: Fit F150 door perfectly. Screw terminal connections easy to work with. Tilted Tweeter aims highs up for better sound.
Cons: Can't think of any cons...

Good overall sound. The tweeter has nice, blending highs that are not too harsh. No listener fatigue that I have noticed so far. Good mid-bass. Not much on the lowest end, but I was able to adjust my bass eq settings to get good overall full range sound from these with no subwoofer. I would buy again.
Pros: Great overall sound.

I've wanted to do a simple upgrade of the "premium" speakers in my 2013 F150 since I bought it new. Just one of those things easy to put off. Finally pulled the trigger last weekend when I saw the sale on these Kappas. Needless to say, it's a night and day difference. The crisp clarity and detail is astounding, when compared to the crap installed at the factory under the Sony System name.

Sticking With The Infinity Brand
Crutchfield customer from Ashburn, VA on 10/2/2021
2006 Ford Mustang
I bought these Infinity speakers to replace some Alpine R-Series 2-way 6.50 inch speakers for the rear deck of my 2006 Mustang GT. I have these new speakers paired to my Pioneer AVIC-5201NEX Navigation receiver that is only capable of 50 watts peak X 4 channels. The Alpine's were about the same price with very similar specs, but they only lasted a year before one started rattling badly somehow even though my receiver was not capable of blowing them and absolutely zero sun exposure due to my rear window louvers and dark UV protected tinting. When I received these Infinity speakers, I could clearly see the superior design compared to the garbage Alpine's. I also have 4 Infinity Kappa speakers installed in my pristine 2001 Ford Escape which sound amazing with a sub woofer and still going strong after 5+ years - lesson learned. They're relatively pricey, but you get what you pay for in this case. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Superior Design; Excellent Sound; Infinity Reputation; Proven Longevity
Cons: None
