Kappa quality and outstanding performance

Big speakers mean bold sound

Boats can be loud, but Infinity marine speakers are made to cut through the wind and roar. Infinity's unique Plus One™ cones provide maximum speaker-cone area, so you'll enjoy high sensitivity, impressive low-frequency output, and outstanding sound. Weather-resistant, grille-mounted Mylar tweeters deliver smooth, distinctive highs.

Versatile installation options

Boats can present some challenging acoustic and installation decisions. These Infinity 8" speakers make it all just a bit easier with their convertible design that allows you to mount them in a traditional coaxial style or install them as separate components. If you're facing some placement option issues, these speakers can solve them and give you great sound.

Pick a color, any color

When you buy Infinity Kappa speakers, great sound is a given. But these speakers also give you attractive RGB LED lighting that'll add style to your boat. Seven cool colors are available out of the box, but with an external lighting controller (sold separately), you can create unique colors that suit your boat and your style.

Ready for the outdoors

Compared to car speakers, marine speakers live a pretty harsh life with sun, spray, salt, and extreme temperatures, plus the occasional fish that gets loose on the deck. These big Infinity speakers are ready for all of it, with one-piece polymer baskets, marine-ready componentry, and sealed, UV-resistant grilles that will stand up to spray and punishing sunlight for years to come.

These marine speakers are available in Titanium or White.

Features

LED Illumination: Integrated into each grille, around the outside of the woofer and the perimeter of the tweeter/midrange frame, are red/green/blue LED assemblies, to create a glow on the woofer cone. (The LEDs around the tweeter/midrange structure are on the woofer grille, they are not part of the removable tweeter/midrange.) A 12 volt power supply is needed to turn the LEDs on; depending on what combination of LED wires is connected, they light red, green, blue, yellow, purple, aquamarine, or white. A 4-wire pigtail (14" long) is provided for supplying power to the built-in LEDs.

Convertible Tweeter/Midrange: The tweeter/midrange structures can be removed from the woofer grilles and mounted separately. Flush-mount housings are included, as well as trim rings. Once the tweeter/midrange housing is in the opening, four screws turn rotating cams as they're tightened, securing the housing to the wall. The Rotating Cams protrude 0.335" from the cutout opening. An 80" extension wire plugs into the separated tweeter/midrange structure, and into a rubber covered port on the woofer. When mounted separately, the dimensions are:

  • Depth: 2.227"
  • Height: 0.602"
  • Cutout Diameter: 4.54"
  • Frame Diameter: 5.323"

Customer Q&A

Q
Can the M704A power 2 of these speakers in bridge mode? Based on the manuals these speakers run at 3ohms. The amp says it only supports 4 ohms in 2 channel bridge configuration.

I may not have the exact answer for your setup but I am currently running 2pr of these Kappa 8" on a Memphis MXA2.140 (2 channel) in my boat. I series wired each pair to bring it up to a 6ohm load, so with both pairs wired to the amp, I have no clipping or overheating issues. I originally ran these parallel and the amp would blip at higher volumes. These speakers sound tremendously better than the Memphis ones I replaced and I would even put them up against some of my buddies running the JL marine 8". Hope this helps.

Q

Greetings Christian, and thank you for your question. Some call it infinite baffle, others call it free air. Infinite baffle is free air. This is a free air speaker.

Q
For these 8 inch infinity speakers, Can you recommend for a mountable "marine can" for use on a boat tower?

A
Yes they should work with most cans. Make sure cut out holes are the same diameter..
jeffrey  Aug 13, 2021
A
I think to Rockville makes a swivel can 8" I think you have to drill your Owen hikes to mount speaker in the can as it's universal
steven  Aug 13, 2021
A
I mounted ours in the seat pedestal. I did read one review that the purchaser could not find any cans/pods that fit. If you can't find any - find a larger set and build a spacer for mounting the smaller circumference. Be sure to pad each surface union.

Q
For the Kappa8135MAM, what is the correct RMS and peak wattage? The description and picture of the back of the speaker show 2 different things 200 RMS vs 50 RMS and 500 peak vs 150 peak.

A
The watt rating in the Product Highlights section is correct. It can work with up to 200 watts RMS and is 500 watts peak power
