About the Infinity Primus 160
The Primus 160 bookshelf speaker, sold individually, produces clean, accurate sound with extremely low distortion, thanks to Infinity's Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.) driver material. You'll be impressed by the performance the 3/4" tweeter gives you room-filling highs and the 6-1/2" woofer teams with a ported cabinet to bring the low-frequency response down to 49 Hz not too shabby for a bookshelf speaker.
The Primus 160 does a terrific job with your stereo music (they're available as a pair). It's a great choice for folks who want full-bodied sound without giving up space in their living room to larger tower speakers. And you can team them up with an Infinity powered subwoofer for extra bass.
If you're into multichannel surround sound, you can use them as fronts and surrounds in a home theater setup for small-to-medium-sized rooms, or pair them up with the Primus 360 towers for larger rooms. For 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound, you can add an extra Primus 160 (or two) and enjoy truly enveloping home theater action. Recommended center: Primus C25.

Features
Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): All of the speakers in the Primus Series feature Infinity's proprietary Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.) drivers. Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Prelude drivers, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core, anodized on both sides for increased strength and rigidity. M.M.D. transducers deliver crystal-clear, distortion-free sound from dynamic digital sources, even at high listening levels.
Woofers: The 6-1/2" M.M.D. cone woofer conducts sound faster than paper, polypropylene and Kevlar found in many similarly-priced speakers, pushing unwanted resonances beyond the operating range of the transducer. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.
Tweeters: The speaker utilizes a 3/4" M.M.D. dome tweeter and waveguide to deliver a wider, more even, high-frequency response.
Bass Reflex: There is a single port tube opening on the front of each speaker for increased and extended bass response.
5-Way Binding Posts: The gold-plated 5-way binding posts will accept pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, dual banana plugs and bare wire. Note: Plastic inserts must first be removed from the speaker terminals before connecting banana plugs or dual banana plugs.

I have had this pair of speakers for about 1 year now and love them. They serve as my main front speakers for both home theater and listening to cd music (primus 150's for the rear.) They easily fill a 14x20 room with great clarity, sound and response. Well worth the money!
