Works in almost any vehicle

Speaker-level inputs allow this amplifier to work with almost any system, which is handy if you're keeping your factory radio. Separate high- and low-pass filters help the amp do its job, whether it's driving speakers or a subwoofer. You can use the built-in bass boost to add more low-frequency fun.

Features

Power Output: The Infinity Primus 6004a 4-channel amplifier delivers 60 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms, and 70 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms. The power output at 4 ohms bridged is 140 watts RMS x 2. The amp's total peak power is 560 watts.

Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC voltage on the audio output, over- or under-voltage (<9V or >16V), and short circuits. The LED on the end of the amp glows red if the amp goes into protection mode.

Controls

Gain: The Primus 6004a's rotary gain control let you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. The input sensitivity range of the amplifier 0.2V - 5V for a line-level input, and 0.5V - 12V for speaker-level input. Separate gain controls are provided for the front (Ch1 + Ch2) and rear (Ch3 + Ch4) channels. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.

Crossover: The amp features a switchable crossover that can be set to Low Pass, High Pass, or Full Range. If set to Low Pass or High Pass, the cutoff frequency can be set between 32Hz and 320Hz. The crossover has a 12dB per octave slope. Separate crossover controls are provided for the front (Ch1 + Ch2) and rear (Ch3 + Ch4) channels. A small screwdriver is required to adjust the frequency.

Bass EQ: The amplifier's Bass EQ circuit lets you increase the bass output from 0dB to 12dB at 45Hz. Separate Bass EQ controls are provided for the front (Ch1 + Ch2) and rear (Ch3 + Ch4) channels.

Connections

Terminals: The Infinity Primus 6004a uses screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head or flat-head screwdriver (not provided).

Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept up to 4-gauge wire. It is recommended that you use a minimum of 8 AWG power wire to the battery, with an in-line 30A fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. An 8 AWG ground wire (minimum) is also recommended, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.

Remote Turn-On: The Remote screw terminal will accept up to 8 AWG wire. Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.

Speaker Outputs: The amp features screw terminals for connecting four speakers. The amplifier's minimum speaker impedance is 2 ohms in stereo or 4 ohms bridged.

Speaker-Level Input: The amp includes two speaker-level input harness for connecting the amp to a factory radio or aftermarket head unit. You should splice left and right speaker wires from the head unit to the harness and plug the harness into the amp. Separate speaker input harnesses are provided for the front (Ch1 + Ch2) and rear (Ch3 + Ch4) channels.

Line-Level Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with two pairs of RCA inputs for connecting stereo RCA patch cables from the head unit to the amp.

Q
Can I feed this 2 channel preamp RCA input and have it out put 4 channels, or would I need to get RCA splitter cables?

A
Thank you for your question, Mark. This is a 4-channel amp, so you'll be able to send out 4 channels-ch. 1 & 2 for the front and ch. 3 & 4 for the rear.

Q
Is this amp too much RMS wattage (at 2 of 4 ohm) for 4x Infinity Primus PR6512is? AMP: 60W RMS x4 (4ohm) or 70W RMS x4(2ohm) Speakers: Max RMS 55W

A
This amplifier and speaker combination are intended to work together. I wouldn't be concerned with overpowering the speakers as long as the amplifier is properly tuned.

Q
What's the deminsion of the bolt down holes ?

A
We do not have that information and Infinity support was not able to supply it either. I recommend planning on a mounting surface that is 7-3/16" wide x 5-3/4" deep. This will ensure there is enough room to use the mounting screw holes

Q
I want to replace my Bose amplifier on my 2008 G37 Coupe. The Bose system is a balance differential audio system. Will I need any additional equipment to our this balance signal into an unbalance one?

A
We don't have a way to use the signal before the amp, but we do carry signal summing line output converters that can be used to undo the factory amp's crossover, restore the signal to a full range audio and then output it to amps like this one. I recommend contacting an advisor using 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your goals to get a personal recommendation

I had my system professionally installed. You may need to confer with a professional nearby your location for the best results.
