Features
Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a different basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.
Mounting: Infinity markets these speakers as having a 6½" woofer, and they will fit in standard 6½" speaker openings (approximately 5" diameter), but they do not use the standard 6½" speaker bolt pattern. The woofers are also easily installed in many standard 4-hole 6¾" applications with no modification. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.
Tweeter Mounting: The I-Mount tweeter mounting system and Starfish mounting brackets give you several different ways to mount the tweeters:
- I-Mount Mounting System: The tweeters can be surface or flush mounted:
- Surface Mount: Surface mounting the tweeters involves screwing the surface-mount cup to the mounting location, then inserting and locking the tweeter into the cup.
- Flush Mount: Flush mounting is made easy through the use of the threaded flush-mount housing and plastic locking nut. Once a cutout is made, the tweeter is installed in the flush-mount adapter, then into the flush mount housing and inserted into the hole. The large plastic locking nut is threaded onto the adapter (from behind the mounting surface) to hold the complete assembly securely in place. When flush mounted, the tweeters may be angled for optimum response and imaging.
- Starfish Mounting Brackets: The Starfish mounting brackets allow the tweeters to be installed in factory locations behind the grilles:
- Bottom Mount: Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is secured to the underside of the grille panel. The tweeter must be inserted into the bracket and locked into place before the bracket is mounted.
- Surface Mount: Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is screwed to the top of the mounting surface behind the grille panel. Then, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.
- Flush Mount: There are two sets of tabs to flush mount the tweeter in the Starfish bracket, yielding different mounting dimensions. The upper tabs mount the tweeter completely below the opening and are glued in place. The lower mounting tabs are screwed in place and result in a mounting height just over 1/3 inch. Once the bracket is mounted, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.

Tweeter Crossovers: The included 18" tweeter wires have in-line 12 dB/octave high pass crossovers with a crossover point of 5 kHz. The tweeter ends of the wires have quick-slide terminals that easily connect to the wires attached to the tweeters. The input end of each wire has tinned bare wire.

Impedance: The Primus Series speakers feature 3Ω voice coils to compensate for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extract every watt from the factory receiver, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4Ω speakers). The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add after-market amplifiers capable of powering a lower impedance load.

I have a 2021 Nissan Sentra. It doesnâ??t have the Bose system but do you know if it has a factory amp? Also, Would the tweeters fit in the front pillars?

I would be happy to help, Ryan. According to our information both the 7" and 8" radio options that are non-Bose do not feature an external factory amplifier. The Infinity Primus 603CF's tweeters physically fit into your vehicle's existing tweeter locations but do require some work to mount them. You'll need to use backstraps, hot glue, or silicone to secure them.

2004 Acura TSX - replacing the front door speakers and would like to use component speakers. Can I rely on the TSX factory amp to drive the new Infinity tweeters. Seems wrong to use the Infinity crossovers when only low frequencies are delivered to the door speakers? Dave C.

Greetings Dave. Thank you for your question. The factory tweeters have a direct output from the factory amp. The factory amp is also the crossover, or filter for the factory tweeters. What that is filtered at, who knows. You don't have to use the crossovers for the door woofers, but I recommend using them as the filter for the new tweeters.

According to the manual, I wired it according to setup option 1 and received a lot of distortion even with low gain. Is this wiring it "parallel" at 2ohms and overpowering my speakers causing the distortion?

Wiring according to the install instructions should not cause distortion in most setups, P.W. We provide lifetime Technical Support with every order, so if you have your order number handy, please contact our Technical Support team and we can help. Setup option 1 would show a 3-ohm load and is usually fine for use with most radios and amplifiers. Make sure to use the included in-line crossovers on the tweeters as pictured in setup option #1. I hope this helps!

I'm new to buying speakers and unfamiliar with this website. I've been searching around on this product specifically and haven't been able to see if it includes just front dash and front door speakers, or also includes rear speakers. Also, how do these sound? Are they better than the factory speakers? I'm sorry if these questions have obvious answers but I can't find them. Thanks!

Greetings Matt, and thank you for your question. This package would cover two woofers, and two tweeters. If your factory tweeters are in the dash, these would replace them, but they are not a factory fitting replacement. Sometimes you have to fabricate a mounting bracket, or use hot glue. The 6.5 inch woofers then would go in the front doors, and in most cases need an adapter bracket as well, but for most vehicles we have those and include them free with the speaker purchase. A definite improvement vs the factory component speakers from my 2000 Tahoe. A little more bass coming from the front now. Clear highs. The factory head unit is now probably the limiting factor.
