Infinity designed the Reference Series 103W 10" subwoofer to fit into your audio system as it grows. You can select either 2- or 4-ohm impedance, so you're always covered if you add more Infinity subs in the future. And, with frequency response down to 35 Hz, you'll definitely hear the low frequencies you've been missing.

Standout design

The 103W features a polypropylene cone with a unique radial pattern cone that keeps its shape at high output levels, plus a high-roll rubber surround that allows maximum excursion while keeping the cone stable. The vented basket optimizes airflow to keep the 2" voice coil cool. A gloss black trim ring press-fits into place and conceals the mounting hardware for a clean, professional look. This sub will work in ported, bandpass, or sealed boxes, and can be used in free-air applications.

Features

Selectable Smart Impedance (SSI): A switch on the input terminal allows you to easily change the woofer's impedance between 2Ω and 4Ω settings. (The connected amplifier should be off when changing the impedance.) The power handling is the same for either setting; 350 watts RMS/1050 watts peak.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Infinity recommends a sealed enclosure of 1.02 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from a given amount of power. Infinity recommends a ported enclosure of 1.02 ft³ with one 2.76" diameter x 7.09" long port, yielding a tuning frequency of 40 Hz.

Free-Air: The woofer can also be mounted in free air to a baffle board (infinite baffle, no enclosure). When mounted in free air, the power handling is reduced by half (to 175 watts RMS).

Band-Pass: Infinity also recommends a prefabricated band-pass enclosure, but no volume specifications are listed in the manual. Band-pass enclosures often provide the most output available from any amplifier and subwoofer combination, but at the expense of sonic accuracy.

Is the Infinity Reference 103W 10" subwoofer a dual voice coil subwoofer? The Shallow Mount 103WSL is labelled as dual voice coil but the 103W is not labelled.

Greetings Julian. Thats a great question. It is a single 2 inch voice coil impedance switchable subwoofer.
