Really nice speaker and huge improvement to the stock speakers. Also for anyone that says the sub in the 8 speaker Sony system can't just be swapped using the factory amp..you can. 2015 F150 Platinum and used a kicker 8" comp rt and it's light years better.

Pros: Beutiful sound. Huge improvement over factory

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I installed 4 of these Infiniti Reference 6532EX in our 2021 RAV4 XSE hybrid and they are amazing! Some people said the EX have less bass than the IX because of the shallow basket design. But since I already have an amplified subwoofer with 800W max and 200WRMS, I do not need anymore bass. These have great clarity, really good tweeter, pronounced midrange and outstanding overall music quality details, and what exactly I am looking for. It just made our non premium sound system way better and enjoyable to listen.

Pros: Outstanding quality and performance!

Cons: A bit pricey!

Great sound for a coaxial speaker. I think a component Infinity or JBL in the same size would have been a better choice. But still nice for "filler" sounds in the rear doors of a truck.

Pros: Good fillers at a reasonable cost. Easy install.

Cons: Not as good as component counterparts but are half the cost.

Great match for Mitz factory stereo

David from BARBERTON, OH on 9/5/2023

2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

2021 Mitz Outlander Sport. Near perfect match for the stock stereo. Factory speakers had muddy midbass and a nasal sound quality. These are perfectly clear and very bright and accurate highs. Bass is clean and even, perfect for vocals, jazz, etc. If you want thump you need a subwoofer anyway and upgraded stereo. Strongly recommend using Dynamat in the door, around the speaker, and additional foam soundproofing on the inside of the plastic door panel to clean up the vibration coloration to the sound. Replace all 4 door speakers with these and you will not be disappointed with the huge increase in sound clarity.

Pros: Great match in sound level and clarity for factory stereo when installed well.

Cons: Sound is almost too good, brings out the imperfections in the door, so sound proofing of the door panels will be needed.

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I have mix feelings about these speakers in my Honda Accord Sport Hybrid. I installed these in the rear deck of the car and I have the Infinity Reference REF-6530cx in the fronts. The REF-6530csx in the fronts sound amazing and clear; however, the REF-6532ex in the rear deck just sound louder than stock and has more bass, but the clarity isn't the same as the REF-6530cs I have in the fronts. I'm not using an amp in my setup, but that may be my next upgrade.

Pros: Simple drop in with the included mounting hardware; more bass and louder than stock;

Cons: Wished it had more clarity in the mids and highs; the install was a pain to do in my Accord because you have remove all rear quarter panels and rear seats to access the rear deck in order to access the speaker location;

Bought to sets for my truck. For the last couple months the passenger front has been rattling. Today I took the door apart thinking the weather plastic was making the noise. Nope. New Speakers for Old Car

Ron from Fairfax, VA on 7/28/2023

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

I bought two pair of these speakers to replace the OEM ones in a 2011 Toyota RAV4. The original ones were paper and were limited in terms of volume. The new ones allow for greater volume and clearer sound. Time will tell on durability, of course. My family is very happy with the upgraded sound quality. The particular models I bought were "scratch and dent," but they were less expensive, and they are behind a door so no one sees them anyway. Crutchfield sent all the needed equipment for installation. Instructions were very clear. The only advice I would give is that hole in the speaker mounting bracket is not quite big enough for the Metra speaker adapter. I used a drill to make the hole slightly bigger to accommodate the adapter.

Pros: Greatly improved sound quality for a reasonable price.

Cons: Sound is a bit more treble.

Wonderful drop in replacement speaker for Promaster van. Much better mid and low tones than the lightweight and lower power 20w OE speakers. Infinity speaker on left, OE speaker on right. With the included mounting adapters and wire adapters there was no drilling, cutting, or splicing required. Installation of both speakers in less than 30 minutes. The 3 long tabs on the adapter line up perfect with the OE door holes. Mount speaker to the adapter with supplied 4 screws each, slip on the wiring adapter, then connect and bolt right into the door reusing the 3 OE speaker screws.

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I replaced the front door factory speakers in my 2014 Ram 1500 with these. My truck has the factory Alpine system, so the front door speakers are crossed over to only receive mid-bass signal. These speakers absolutely shine in this application! The sound from these speakers are loud, with no distortion. I have replaced all four doors and three dash speakers with the Infinity Reference line of speakers, and highly recommend that you do the same! They have made a very under performing "premium" factory system sound incredibly better! As a bonus, Crutchfield includes the correct wiring harness to literally plug & play your new speakers.for free! For my front set, they also included the mounting adapter set.also for free! The adapter plates are a universal type fit, so you do have to drill a few holes to mount a 6.5" speaker to the plate. But, the holes to mount the adapter plate to the door were a perfect match for my truck! For all of the people complaining about drilling a few holes to mount the speakers to the adapters.if that is too intimidating for you, you probably shouldn't be replacing your own speakers!!!

Pros: - They sound exactly as good as you expect them too! - The free mounting accessories are much appreciated! - They integrate seamlessly with the rest of the Reference line of speakers

Cons: - I live in Florida and it was REALLY hot when I installed these, so I got real sweaty! ????

Do NOT buy these for a factory head unit!

Mike from Hoover, AL on 6/24/2023

2020 Subaru WRX

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

Do not buy these speakers to connect to a factory head unit! Even if Crutchfield recommends it. These were RECOMMENDED by Crutchfield.com for my factory head unit (2020 Subaru WRX). I removed all four factory door speakers and replaced them with these Infinity Reference speakers. The treble is great. The mid-range and the bass are absolute TRASH. The sound system is now virtually useless and has ruined driving my car. The only acceptable audio experience with my car audio - now that I have installed these speakers - is listening to an audiobook. NO MUSIC sounds remotely acceptable with these speakers. Every time there is the slightest bass, the speakers distort from the bass up through the mid-range. The factory speakers had better mid-range and bass - at least they were clear enough to listen to music. I have no idea why these were recommended for a factory system upgrade. With the power coming from the factory head unit, these Infinity Reference speakers sound dramatically WORSE than the factory speakers - except for treble. If you are keeping your factory head unit, DO NOT BUT THESE SPEAKERS. I would also recommend you not go by the Crutchfield recommendations. ANOTHER ISSUE: Crutchfield sent free quick connects that DID NOT FIT my car's factory connections. I had to cut off the connections and hand wire them anyway. Come on Crutchfield...

Pros: Treble

Cons: Recommended for a factory head unit, but don't work. Requires an amplifier.

Great sound and quality. Fit awareness for 350z owners

Steven from Duluth, GA on 6/20/2023

2005 Nissan 350Z

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

The craftsmanship and sound quality merit five stars as you would expect from Infinity audio products. The speaker tones, range, and clarity produced is excellent while paired with my Clarion CX501 stereo. The installation process was straightforward and uncomplicated. However, 2005 Nissan 350z owners should be aware of a speaker fit issue. These speakers have a little larger magnet than those from the factory. The depth of the speaker causes it to press up against the rubber guard and door glass when the window is in the down position, even when using the Crutchfield installation kit. It is a TIGHT fit! I managed to increase the speaker's lift out of the installation slot by roughly a quarter inch. To reduce the chance of underestimating the glass clearence when in the down position, I advise installing the speakers with the door window in the down position. You will have to accept a slight visual issue as a result, but I don't mind because of the excellent speaker quality. I highly recommend the Infinity REF-6532ex speakers. I neglected to take photos since I was so focused with fixing the installation problem...sorry.

Pros: Clear and full overall sound Craftsmanship Clean bass

Cons: Installation fit (350z lower door)

I selected the Infinity Ref 6532ex to replace my existing MB Quartz that had blown during an extended Sunday drive through Saint Lucie and Martin counties and excessive amounts of Jamaican Reggae bass.. these are located in the rear of my 94 Nissan 300ZX and fit perfectly without any modifications. Initial impressions of the new replacements were as expected, clear highs, strong mids, and more than adequate bass. I still have to re-install the interior trim to get the full audio effect of the Ref 6532ex, but I expect it to get better when completely buttoned up, in high gear and in full boulevardier mode.

Pros: Quality speaker, priced right, fit w/o any mods.

Cons: None yet.. the MBs lasted many years ..

I had a different speaker in each of my suburban doors so to say these provided an upgrade is an understatement! I was immediately impressed on how much sound quality I was hearing from this set without cranking up the volume super high. I currently have a 4-channel amp that kicks out 35W per channel and these speakers perform great. They have a surprising amount of bass, just enough for the average listener that doesn't want to add a subwoofer. Infinity came highly recommended by Crutchfield and I'm glad I read all the reviews before I made this purchase. Plus, they come with a great looking grill that I didn't want to cover up with the factory gray speaker covers. If you want a high-quality coaxial speaker at a reasonable price, then theses are for you!

Pros: Fit and finish are high quality. Grills add some flair and look great installed. Good sound quality at lower input.

Cons: None

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I typically don't review speakers. There are too many variables from audio system composition to the subjective listener. But these speakers deserve something. I have these in a tin can of a 2008 Toyota Matrix that I use as a commuter car. I merely wired them into a Sony XAV-AX5500 headunit and let them rip. According to Crutchfield's specs it's 20wx4. So not the most powerful. There's a 10-band equalizer built-in and crossover settings. Those are both adjusted to my preferences (pretty standard). The speakers amaze me daily. I have never listened to speakers this efficient. And responsive. I typically listen to Bluetooth streamed music that's stored on my phone (320kbps) or SiriusXM. I've had speakers that cost much more than these that didn't sound as good. I've turned them fairly loud and they don't distort. And I really don't see the need for a small amplifier for these if you're just looking for improvement and possibly adding a low-powered subwoofer. If you're a "highs" guy, you may want to bypass them. They're not super bright, but they do just fine if you want a balanced sound. I would wager that you CANNOT beat them for the price. As long as they're available, I'll keep buying them.

Pros: Efficient Great sounding

Cons: I really cannot think of any

Replaced stock speakers from a 98 civic, using stock radio. They sound great! Even though the Crutchfield speaker chooser told me I didn't need to make modifications, I did need to modify the plastic adapter that lets you connect the 4 screw holes in the speaker to a door with three speaker holes. I had to saw off all the extra parts that jutted out from the adapter ring so it would fit under the original grill that came with the car door. Once I figured that out it was an easy first audio upgrade for the car.

Pros: Sound great.

Cons: Had to modify 3->4 hole adapter to fit under built in door grill (even through speaker chooser told me no mods were needed)

2022 Honda Accord Sport

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

These coax speakers sound great! They provide great clarify for mids and highs compared to the stock Accord Sport woofers. The stock woofers produced more low end frequencies (with ANC disconnected), but lacked the clarify and sound quality of the Infinity speakers. The stock woofer is cheap with a tiny driver compared to the Infinity speakers. I kept the stock tweeters installed since I prefer listening to the highs up top in the sound stage compared to disconnecting them and relying solely on the Infinity speakers for both mids and highs. I turned down the high frequencies in the EQ to bring down the overall brightness as it was a bit much for my ears when the EQ was neutral. Running two tweeters isn't ideal, but I didn't have the time currently to figure out the mounting for a component tweeter in the door sail. After the EQ adjustment, I am very happy with the improvement. The installation was simple and the brackets and harness did the job. I used the supplied foam from the speakers to seal the mounting bracket to the metal speaker door and a silicone baffle to seal the speaker against the plastic door. If you're looking for bass, a subwoofer is a must.

Pros: Great sound quality Easy installation Solid build quality

Cons: Not much bass

2018 Honda Ridgeline

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

These are fine and good replacements for the OEM speakers in my 2018-RTLE Honda Ridgeline. Easy enough to install with 1 caveat... Wife bought these for me, for my birthday, and asked Crutchfield about necessities. These included brackets (place the speakers in the brackets and place that in the original slots for the speaker) and the plastic tools to pull off the door. The plastic tools are unnecessary and don't work for it anyway. Small flathead screwdriver is all that is needed plus a philips head screwdriver for the screws holding the door. For the brackets, and this is the caveat, the holes DO NOT line up with the screw holes on the speaker. So, you either install with 1 screw (at the top) that goes through the holes into the door hole, but then the speaker isn't totally secure...there is some movement/play on the bottom. Or, you drill holes in the plastic brackets to use for the screws to securely attach the bracket. Since I had 4 speakers, and had already installed the front 2 before I confirmed with Crutchfield,I tried drilling the rear brackets before installing. It was a PITA. Not hard but time consuming. Then, I figured I would drill the bracket holes on my front setup while leaving them installed. DO NOT DO THIS if you have shakey hands or afraid of slipping. You can damage your speaker. However, I did find this a LOT quicker and easier to do the pilot holes while the speakers were installed. Then I screwed them tight. Sa

Huge upgrade from the stock speakers. These get pretty loud just using the factory sound system. Very clear sound in the highs and mids, plenty of bass response without having a sub. If you are looking for 6 1/2 inch speakers that are going to give you booming bass then you need to keep looking. No 6 1/2 inch speaker will give you booming bass sound. You will need to buy a subwoofer for that. But if you are using the factory sound system and want a great sounding speaker upgrade then these are the speakers for you. I like them so much that I have ordered a second pair for the back doors of my 2013 Ford Fusion. Installation was very easy using the provided installation rings and connectors.

Pros: Great sound Easy install Great customer service

Cons: If installing in a 2013 or newer Ford Fusion, be aware that you will need to drill a hole in the side of the mounting bracket to run the wires from the speaker connector to the plug from the stereo. Not a major issue but something that you should be aware of.

Honestly I am disappointed, I installed these on my sister's 2014 Rav4 LE. I bought the dash 3.5 speakers from Infinity and you can tell the difference right away. Now to the doors and these 6.5, no bass reminds me of the cheaper speakers from high school days. On certain songs the tweeters shine with the vocals and others with bass.... Let's say the factory speakers that are almost a decade old sound better. Stock head unit volume above 40 maxes out at 60, above 40 sound like crap. Crutchfield is amazing I will always buy from them and Rennee was a amazing representative. But I am truly disappointed with Infinity. Buying the Kicker CS series I have them on my 2021 Corolla and I am very pleased.

Pros: Tweeters

Cons: Bass and cheap thump noise low volume

Purchasing and installing these speakers is one of those life "things" about which is said: "I should have done this years ago." These speakers transformed my old '91 (last century!) Nissan pick-up cab with its issued 4" speakers from a virtually toneless and "bass-less" sound system into a full symphony hall (elevator music will test the best speaker systems--lots of sounds!)! The Kenwood radio I purchased from Crutchfield several years back had the capability to make the transformation, but those six-inch speakers brought out those capabilities in spades. Installation required some drilling and fitting, as expected. Before starting on the installation, I checked in with a Crutchfield tech rep who confirmed that I had a good plan; and it all worked out. Crutchfield folks, from the sales fellow, Rhett, to the tech rep whose name I don't recall, were knowledgeable and professional--and good listeners, too: not in any hurry and not "forceful" or evasive, just helpful; one customer at a time until I made the decision to purchase the speakers or got my installation plan "approved." The speakers arrived the next day. In short, I had a very good experience dealing with Crutchfield and am totally satisfied!

Pros: Included in above.

Cons: Over the years, after retiring from the military and now as a farmer, I've done lots of modifications to old equipment and expect to have to improvise; but though this speaker installation was pretty much a no-brainer, a little larger instruction diagram on the large multi-language instruction sheet which came in the speaker box would have been helpful.

I bought these to replace the factory 6x9 speakers in a 2017 2nd generation Jeep Compass. These look nice, and sound excellent with highs in the audio. Low frequencies, however, seem to be a bit much for these. I have to say even the factory speakers had better lows at higher volumes than these do which is unfortunate. I was hoping these would work out as a better basic all around. I am using these with a factory U-Connect 7" head unit which doesn't have any extra amplification. I think the entire system puts out maybe 180W to six channels, so these should split 120W in the four doors. The bass setting on the equalizer is set just over midway to prevent distortion at higher volumes. Installation was very easy with the provided 6x9 adapters and wiring adapters. No issues with fitment in a Jeep Compass.

Pros: Great Highs / Treble Decent build quality

Cons: Poor Lows / Bass

Nice upgrade from the factory speaker. They allow the music to be experienced throughout the. Vehicle instead of the muddy sound you get from the originals.

Pros: Adding the two way speaker brings the highs to the rest of the vehicle. The lows are better experienced with these. The factory equalizer does an ok job helping to balance the sound throughout the vehicle. Easy to install.

Cons: None so far.

I bought these for upgrading a Honda Civic stock 5 inch display stereo, with plans of adding a small amp and powered sub at a later date. These speakers are clear, but have less bass than the factory speakers to my untrained ears. They sound good, but I have some Kickers in a Tacoma that pack way more punch. I'm hoping a small amp will bring these to life..eventually. Not saying they are bad. just not the upgrade I was hoping for.

Pros: Well made, good clarity

Cons: Little bass response when using stock receiver

God awful sounding in a Subaru

Ryan from SYLVA, NC on 2/20/2023

2014 Subaru Outback

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

I bought these on the recommendation from the Crutchfield rep to replace the speakers in a 2014 Subaru Outback with the Harmon Kardon system. It's a 2ohm system, so my options were limited. The only reason I'm giving these 2 stars is because the quality and build of the speaker seems to be really good. However, they sound absolutely AWFUL in the Outback. I mean, it's hard to listen to. It causes significant fatigue after just a couple of minutes. I have tried and tried to EQ it out, but have had no luck. It likely has to do with the factory dash-mounted tweeters being mismatched and unbalanced with these (the dash speakers are 2ohm, and these are aren't), but the guy on the phone assured me that it wouldn't be a problem, and that Crutchfield doesn't sell a replacement for the factory tweeters anyway... I hate that I spent what I did on these, as I'm seriously considering yanking them out and putting the old, ones back in. Missing one blown speaker in the system still sounded way, way better than these do.

Pros: Good build quality.

Cons: Sounds terrible in the car I installed them in.

I installed these in a 2023 Camry (front and rear doors) and they sound great. Excellent mids and highs. Easy to install after watching some videos. You need wire adapters and the right mounting brackets, but with a screwdriver and a plastic trim tool, you can have these installed in less than an hour.

These were recommended for my 2017 Tahoe as a replacement for the factory Bose Speakers that finally gave up. Connected to my factory amp they produce great volume and range with clarity that exceeds OEM. I was a little worried they wouldn't be loud enough with the high 4ohm impedance but they shine bright. Highly recommend for factory replacements. The tech advisor loaded a cart with the needed brackets and plugs to make install painless.

Pros: Price point. Easy Install Exceptional Clarity Works great with lower power factory amplifier. Tech Support

So much better than the stock speakers, and the music has come to life in my Rav4. I had turn up the bass and turn down the treble because it can handle much more bass without getting muddy, and the highs are very crips and clear. Replaced the torn & worn factory front lower door speakers out of my 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. Right out of the box, the speakers carry a nice full sound. Its crisp, and perfectly loud for my uses. Now I'm anxious to get the rears and tweeters done. Word to the wise, the harness kit works great, the mounts, at least for my specific truck, are off by like 1/16ths of an inch. I had to bore out a little into the top mounting hole for the anchors to line up in the door. Everything before and past that, went smooth as glass. I'm new to the car audio, but for somebody who doesnt bump hard, and just likes a little volume and clarity, these Infinity's are perfect.

Pros: Great crisp sound, good bass, good volume.

Cons: Speakers are phenomenal. The hardware was the only hiccup.
