JBL Authentics Series: The JBL Authentics Series is inspired by JBL's classic heritage speaker designs for a look that complements any room and fills any space (big or small) with signature JBL sound. The Authentics 300 features a premium aluminum frame wrapped in a custom "leather-like" vinyl, with a Quadrex foam grille for a vintage retro look.

Active Two-Way Driver Design: The JBL Authentics 300 employs a two-way driver design that features dual 1" silk soft-dome tweeters and a 5.25" mid/bass woofer powered by a 100-watt Class D amplifier with DSP (digital signal processing), plus a 6.5" down-firing passive radiator for dynamic full-range sound that offers clear highs and deep bass. The JBL Authentics 300 speaker system automatically calibrates and optimizes audio performance for its location each time you power it up. You can also adjust Bass & Treble.

• Auto Tuning: To optimize your sound experience for your unique listening environment, the speaker system starts self-tuning automatically each time you connect the speaker to power and start music playback. The self-tuning takes about three minutes. If music playback stops before self-tuning is complete, the self-tuning will resume when you start music playback again.
• Bass & Treble: You can adjust the Authentics 300 speaker's Bass & Treble from its top-panel controls to tailor the sound to your preference. You can also use the JBL One app (for Apple iOS and Android OS) to access a 7-band EQ to further fine-tune the speaker's sound.
• Stereo Pair: Using the JBL One app (for Apple iOS and Android OS), you can wirelessly connect a pair of JBL Authentics 300 speakers together via WiFi for a true stereo soundstage.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The JBL Authentics 300 offers built-in Bluetooth 5.3 with support for wireless audio streaming (A2DP 1.3.2) and control (AVRCP 1.5). You can wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content on your Bluetooth source device (such as your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer) to the JBL Authentics 300. Bluetooth's standard SBC and Apple's AAC audio codecs are supported. You can also control basic playback function (such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track) from the top-panel controls. Advanced music control and song/artist/album information will still have to be done from your Bluetooth source device. Multiple devices can be paired with the speaker, but only one device can be used to stream music at a time. Once paired, the unit will automatically re-connect with paired devices when in wireless range (up to 33').

• Bluetooth audio streaming cannot be controlled via your voice using Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
• Even though the Authentics 300 has a built-in microphone, it does not support Bluetooth hands-free communication (HFP) for answering and making phone calls.

USB-C Port: The rear-panel USB-C port allows connection of a USB MSC (mass storage class) device for MP3 and WAV music playback. The speaker system supports MP3 music files with a sampling rate of 16-bit/48kHz and bit-rate of 80-320 kbps, as well as WAV music files up to 16-bit/48kHz. The USB-C port can also be used to charge your smartphone or table device, and is rated at 5V/1A.

3.5mm Aux Input: The rear-panel 3.5mm Aux input allows connection of an external audio device with a line-level output or headphone out jack. You may need a stereo minijack-to-RCA adapter cable (sold separately), since the Authentics 300 only has a 3.5mm Aux input. When an audio cable has been inserted into the speaker system's 3.5mm Aux input and music playback has started from the connected source device, the Authentics 300 will automatically switch over to the Aux input.

Mounting & Carry Options: The JBL Authentics 300 features an integrated non-slip rubber base so it can be safely placed on a counter, desk, nightstand, shelf, endtable, or other flat tabletop surface. It also includes an integrated handle that allows you to easily carry the speaker from room to room.

Network Audio

Wired or Wireless Network Connection: The JBL Authentics 300 offers a wired or wireless connection to your network router and ISP (internet service provider) for access to AirPlay 2, Alexa Built-in Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and JBL One App, A wired network connection can be made using the system's Ethernet (RJ45) LAN jack, while the speaker's built-in 2.4/5GHz dual-band WiFi (802.11ax) provides a wireless network connection. A WiFi network connection can be configured and setup using the JBL One app (for Apple iOS and Android OS) on your compatible smartphone or table device.

Alexa Built-In: Thanks to its built-in microphone array and support for Amazon Alexa, you can use your voice to stream music from Amazon Music HD (including Prime & Unlimited), plus other compatible online music services to the JBL Authentics 300 speaker system over a wired or wireless network connection. Through the Alexa app (for Apple iOS and Android OS), you can create multiroom music groups with other Alexa compatible speakers and devices throughout your home. Once you have created these multiroom music groups in the Alexa app, you can use your voice to ask Alexa to play your music on specific groups of speakers. In addition, you can use built-in Alexa to control compatible smartphone devices, get news & weather reports, plus check sports scores and more. The Authentics 300 can even be controlled from other Amazon Alexa enabled smart speakers (sold separately).

Google Cast: Use the Google Home App (for Apple iOS and Android OS) to enable Google Cast. Google Cast gives you access to hundreds of online music streaming services, internet radio, and podcasts. Google Cast streams audio directly from the cloud, so you get the 24-bit/96kHz sound quality and the ability to enjoy crystal clear sound exactly the way the artist intended. Simply tap the Cast button from a Google Cast compatible music app on your Apple iOS or Android OS device to start streaming to the JBL Authentics 300 speaker system. You can search, browse, play, skip, and turn up the volume directly from the music apps you know and love on your compatible smartphone or tablet. Google Cast supports FLAC, WAV, AAC, and MP3 music files. While you cast your music, you can still use your smartphone to answer a call, play a game, send a text, and even leave the room - all without interrupting what's playing on the Authentics 300 music system.

• Music, Radio, & Podcasts: Google Cast lets you play music from popular music services and search by artist, song, genre, album playlist, mood, or activity. You can also listen to your favorite internet radio stations and podcasts. Compatible music and internet radio apps include Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio, YouTube Music, Qobuz and more (subscriptions and fees will apply). You'll also be able to stream your favorite music, playlists, podcasts, and more that are stored on your Android (OS 4.4.2+) device to the Authentics 300 . You cannot stream stored content on an Apple iOS device using Google Cast. If you're on your laptop or computer, you can also cast any music streaming website through the Chrome web browser to the speaker.
• Multiroom Audio: Add more Google Cast speakers throughout your home (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) to create a whole house audio experience. You can play the same Google Cast compatible music app (like Tidal, Spotify, or Pandora) on all speakers or groups of speakers in different rooms of your home. You'll be able control the multiroom audio system from the Google Home app on your Apple iOS or Android device; or using the Authentics 300's built-in microphone, Google Assistant and your voice.
• Google Assistant Voice Control: Thanks to its built-in microphone and support for Google Assistant voice control, you'll be able to access Google Cast music apps and then select a specific station or song using only your voice. You'll also have voice control over Play, Pause, Skip, & Volume; as well as multiroom audio functions. In addition, you can use the built-in Google Assistant to control compatible smartphone devices, get news & weather reports, plus check sports scores and more. The Authentics 300 can even be controlled from other Google Assistant smart speakers (sold separately).

Spotify Connect: If you subscribe to Spotify and have the Spotify App on your Apple iOS or Android smartphone (or on your Windows PC or Mac computer), you can stream Spotify's vast music library to the JBL Authentics 300 speaker system using Spotify Connect. Spotify is a digital music service that gives you on-demand access to one of the largest music libraries in the world. Spotify makes it easier than ever to discover, manage, and share music with your friends. You can browse music by artist, album, track, or most popular; and create your own music library with customized playlists.

Apple AirPlay 2: Apple AirPlay 2 is an advanced and easy-to-use wireless multiroom audio platform for iTunes, Apple Music, and other compatible Apple iOS apps. With AirPlay 2 you can play any sound from your Apple iOS device (running iOS 11.4 or later) or Mac computer (running OS X 10.13.2) on the JBL Authentics 300 and other compatible AirPlay 2 speakers throughout your home. You can choose to play audio in one room, play the same audio in grouped rooms, or play the same audio in every room. If you are an Apple Music subscriber, you can even play different music in different rooms (you can control and group directly from Apple's Music App and Home app on your Apple iOS device). You will also be able to ask Siri-enabled devices (like your Apple iPhone, iPad, or Watch) to control playback of your Apple Music on the JBL Authentics 300 . You can even watch videos and movies from YouTube and Netflix on your compatible Apple iOS device or Mac computer with perfectly synced audio on the JBL speaker system.

Roon Ready: The JBL Authentics 300 speaker system is a Roon Ready device with Roon's own streaming technology built right in. Roon is a feature rich music library and playback application that compiles all your compatible music files, streaming services and devices available to your network and makes them easily available to play on the JBL Authentics 300 speaker system and any other Roon enabled audio devices. Listen in one room or group multiple Roon Ready devices for synchronized playback around your home, regardless of brand. Roon manages digital music files (including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and DSD) collected on hard drives and networked storage devices. It can also integrate your Apple Music library, and optionally merge with the Tidal and Qobuz music streaming services. In addition Roon works with hundreds of "Roon Tested" network players and connected devices via AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Sonos, Bluetooth, HDMI, & USB.

• Roon Server: To use Roon you will need a Roon Server running on the same network as the JBL Authentics 300 speaker system. The Roon Server is the brains of the system and manages all your compatible digital music files, streaming services, and audio devices. The Roon Server software can be installed on Mac, Windows, or Linux; or can be run from a dedicated component like Nucleus or mini-PC using ROCK (sold separately).
• Roon Remote: Use Roon Remote on smartphone tablet, laptop, and desktop computer to control the Roon Server software. When you access the Roon software from the remote app, it will display your complete audio library together with its metadata and artwork along with the available Authentics 300 and other Roon enabled devices. Simply select the music you wish to play and the JBL speaker system or Roon device in which you want to hear it on.

Control Options

Built-in Voice Control: The JBL Authentics 300 offers voice control via its built-in far-field microphone array and support for Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant. By saying "Hey Google" or "Alexa", the Authentics 300 can help perform tasks like playing a favorite song or controlling smart home devices, checking the latest weather, traffic, & finance reports, and finding out the latest sports scores. Not only is the Authentics 300 a great sounding speaker, it can assist you in a variety of ways with everyday tasks thanks to built-in Google Assistant & Alexa. You'll need to setup Alexa & Google Assistant voice control using the Alexa App (for Apple iOS & Android OS) or the Google Home App (for Apple iOS & Android OS), plus the JBL One app (for Apple iOS and Android OS) on your compatible smartphone or tablet device.

• Entertainment Control: Use your voice to select, play, and control music from compatible Chromecast & Alexa music services - like Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio, Qobuz, YouTube, and more. You'll have access to Play, Pause, Skip, & Volume control, as well as multiroom audio functions.
• Smart Home Automation: The JBL Music with Google Assistant lets you control smart devices around your home from Google Home & Alexa compatible smart home automation partners - like Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, Belkin Wemo, Nest, Honeywell, and more.
• News, Weather & Sports: With built-in Google Assistant & Alexa, you can ask about top headlines, get the latest on a certain category of news (like world, weather, business, tech, etc.), or ask about a specific news item. You can even stay up-to-date on your favorite sports, teams, and games using Google Assistant & Alexa.
  Alarms & Timers: You can set and manage alarms with just your voice. Set and manage a timer for cooking, game time, laundry and to track other activities using the timer with Google Assistant or Alexa.

JBL One App: The JBL One app (for Apple iOS and Android OS) lets you easily setup the speaker system, personalize EQ settings, browse compatible music services, and more using your compatible smartphone or tablet device.

•  The JBL One app offers step-by-step guidance to make setting the JBL Authentics 300 quick and easy. It provides WiFi setup, as well as EQ settings.
• The JBL One app offers access to Google Cast & Alexa apps; plus lets you personalize your music experience by saving favorite songs, playlists, stations, artists, and albums for quicker and easier access.
• The JBL One apps also offers setup of Google Assistant and Alexa voice control digital assistants.
• In addition, the JBL One app provides automatic software updates and online product support.

Top-Panel Controls: Top-panel controls include Power On/Off, Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, Bass & Treble, Bluetooth Pairing, & "Moment". The "Moment" button provides access to your favorite online music service playlist and audio EQ setting that was previously setup and personalized in the JBL One app on your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device.

AC or Battery Power: The JBL Authentics 300 features a rechargeable lithium battery (3.6V/4800mAH) that provides up to 8 hours of music playback (playback time will vary based on volume level & source content). The speaker system can also be powered using the included detachable 6.5' AC power cord. When connected to AC power, it takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

• Auto Standby: If the Authentics 300 speaker system is inactive with no audio signal and no operation for more than 10 minutes, it will switch to standby mode automatically.
• Auto Wakeup: The speaker system will wake up automatically when you press any button on the speaker, when you use the JBL One app, when you activate Google Assistant or Alexa voice control, when you stream a compatible online music service, or an audio cable has been inserted into the speaker and music playback has started from the external device connected through the audio cable.
• Power Saving: In battery mode, the Authentics 300 speaker automatically powers off completely after 1 hour of inactivity (including audio signal & operation) to save power. Press the top-panel power button to switch on.
