Features

Enclosure & Driver: The JBL BassPro SL2 features a single 8" woofer in a compact sealed enclosure. The woofer driver features a polypropylene cone with a butyl rubber surround, mounted in a durable ABS enclosure that's compact enough for mounting under seats and in tight spaces.

Amplifier: The subwoofer enclosure is powered by a built-in 125 watt RMS Class-D amplifier. Class-D operation means the amp runs cooler and draws less current from the vehicle's electrical system.

High/Low Inputs: The BassPro SL2 includes a pair of RCA low-level signal inputs, accepting signals from 0.05V - 2.0V. If connecting to a factory headunit or radio without pre-amp outputs, a 2-channel speaker-level input harness is included, accepting signals from 0.5V - 20V.

Audio Sense: The Audio Sense switch, when set to On, allows the BassPro SL2 to power on when it senses voltage on the speaker-level inputs, eliminating the need for connecting a remote turn-on wire.

Crossover: The amplifier's low pass crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 120 Hz; the crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit provides a variable (0-9 dB) signal boost centered at 70Hz.

Remote Level Control: A remote level control is provided, that can be mounted under a dash or console for easy adjustment of the bass level from the driver's location. The remote level control includes a 16.5' remote cable terminated in RJ-25 connectors on both ends.

Other Controls&Indicators:

  • Phase: A two position switch (0° or 180°) allows the subwoofer's phase to easily be inverted .
  • Level: A rotary knob adjusts the input signal level.
  • Input Load: Used in conjunction with the speaker-level inputs, this 2-postition switch (High/Low) can be set to provide the lowest amount of noise with a high-level input signal. Generally, this will be set to the High position for most factory radios.
  • Power LED: Lights to indicate unit is powered on.
  • Protect LED: Lights to indicate a fault or short-circuit.

Connections:

  • Remote Bass: RJ-25 jack for use with included remote bass level control.
  • Fuse: A single 15 amp ATC fuse protects the amplifier.
  • High Level Input: Accommodates the included 4-pin Molex high-level input harness.
  • Power/Ground: Three set-screw terminals provide connections for Power, Ground, and Remote In, each accepting up to 8AWG wire.

Greetings Miguel. Thank you for your question. If you are planning to keep the factory Honda radio in, you will need a few feet of speaker wire, and some wire taps to get the signal into the JBL powered subwoofer.

2017 Tacoma factory radio (Not JBL), how does this connect to this amp? I do not believe this radio has either RCA or remote wire connections.

Sure so when you are trying to incorporate a powered sub into your factory system, there are a couple of ways we can do this. The easiest way is to buy a T-harness for your vehicle that installs behind the factory radio that will tee off and give you the speaker wire connections you can run into a line output converter or straight to the powered sub in this case. You would just need some speaker wire to run from the harness to the powered sub. If you did want to take that extra step and clean up the signal a bit more then we can also incorporate a line output converter from the harness and run RCAs to the JBL. confused which one to choose ( JBL basspro sl2 or jbl basspro nano? Iam not a technical guy to compare number just need a high quality subwoofer compact and punchy bass for everyday use. The Nano is going to be about 6 inches smaller in width, the same length, and a touch thicker but about the same. The Nano draws slightly less power and has a slightly higher range for frequency response but it's going to be hardly noticeable. Really, they are so similar in specifications that the only real question you should have is size. Where do you plan on putting it? I measured the very specific spot I had to place it in my truck a few times and had trouble meeting that size constraint before finding the Nano, which is the perfect fit.

After installing each of these in very similar extended cab trucks, I recommend the SL2. My son purchased an SL2 for another truck after we discovered the improved performance of the SL2. Not that the Nano is bad, but the SL2 is better at all volume levels. Both take a little time to adjust after some days of listening at different volumes and different music. Don't forget to check ALL settings in the head unit for something that will mess with your results.

You should be able to. Just need a sub out from your head unit and a reference line so the amp will automatically turn on.

This powered subwoofer can be installed into 2021 4Runners and depending on the stock system, we may have parts that plug into the stock wiring to get the audio for it. If you are looking to put it under a seat, it should fit. I would look up the sub dimensions and measure the spots your are looking to install it. Also remember when picking a spot to install it to account for the cable lengths.

Is it possible to use one remote to control both of these subs? it looks like they just use a standard ethernet (RJ45) connector for the remote, so could you just use a splitter to split the signal from one remote to have control of both?

The remote level controller cable has RJ-25 connections on each end. We have not tested a splitter to know if one controller will operate two of these subwoofers. I recommend contacting JBL's support using 800-336-4525 to check with them if it will work

Both Harman Audio. Probably.... I'd bet they both have a bit of a house sound. Infinity tends to be a bit brighter, JBL tends to have a thicker mid-bass, though they frequently use the same components, with different crossovers after Harman/Samsung bought them. I own the JBL in an old pickup that I wanted to keep looking relatively stock, and not put much money into improving a 40-yo stereo. It's a great little sub for "fill" in the low end. Don't expect your friends to hear you a half mile away.

It will be easier to install two of these using a dual amp wiring kit for the power. The signal is be a different story and is dependent on the system in the vehicle, and your preferences for the sound clarity and control.
