Great sound, blue tooth connection a little shaky at times. It is heavy, but when you hear the sound you will understand why. Well built and sturdy construction.
Pros: Sound, easy blue tooth hook-up, battery life, easy controls.
Cons: Heavy, blue tooth is a little touchy.

Great sound! I had bought it for mainly outdoor use and am impressed with the low end volume. Fastest connecting device I've ever had. Heavier than I anticipated but understandable for the sound.

The JBL Boombox 3 exceeded all my expectations. I already own two of the original Boombox 1 model and the Boombox 3 has better frequency response, especially on the low end and the max volume is significantly louder. If you are a fan of heavy bass this speaker is definitely for you.
Pros: Excellent bass, long power cord, battery that doesn't quit, comfortable metal handle upgrade

Great Sound

I was using UE Boom speakers but they had no mid and lower ranges. The JBL Boombox 3 sounds so much richer! It has impressive bass (for its size) and overall sounds great! The. Battery life is also very good and it's construction is very sturdy. It is a bit heavy but it is exactly what I was expecting and hoping for! So far, I love this Bluetooth boombox!
Pros: Great overall sound, loudness, and bass. Sturdy build that is water and dust proof!

This thing get LOUD! Its a great speaker, sounds great, built great and looks great. Only draw backs are its big, much bigger than I thought it would be, and its heavy. Otherwise I love it.

Awesome speaker. Great sound for indoor applications. I enjoy the app you download to have access to the equalizer you can adjust to your taste. Can't wait to bring it outside in the spring to see how it sounds in the garage and on the deck.

Cons: It is a little big and heavy but that is to be expected based on the quality and type of speaker it was intended.

I was comparing between the JBL Boombox 3 and the JBL Partybox 310. In summary, the Boombox 3 has better high frequency sound sound while the Partybox 310 has better low end sound. I wanted the best overall sound so went with the Boombox 3.

I am upgrading from the original Boombox and this Boombox 3 is a nice upgrade. It has more power and a lot more bass. Also I got it when it was on sale and saved 150.00. This is the best sounding Bluetooth speaker you can buy.
Pros: More power and better bass than the original Boombox.
Cons: It will not pair with older JBL Bluetooth speakers.

As we are a retired couple in our sixties, we are not in the marketing demographic of a "boombox." Bought one anyway. This speaker does justice to the Classical, Jazz and Folk music that we love so much.
Pros: Built like a tank; reasonably accurate full-range sound; fun
Cons: A bit pricey... Not quite the sonic equal of our costlier, bulkier audiophile system... Addictive

Already had the original boombox since 2017. This is in a class of it's own. Sounds almost as loud as my Party box 310 but way more portable.
Pros: Don't think twice in buying it.

The Boombox 3 has an amazing sound at a surprisingly high volume for the size. I have not heard any distortion yet, even at max volume. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of difficulty with the Bluetooth connection. Our projector will connect, but not play sound. iPad and iPhone has very limited range before signal starts breaking up. Distances more than 10-12 feet causes loss of connection.

Awesome! I bring this down to the ice rink while we skate. No more worries if it starts snowing on us as it's completely waterproof. I also use it in the garage when I'm working on the Jeep. I love the sound it produces. When I have it in the garage I usually have to turn the bass down on the JBL app (which is great by the way) and switch my phone EQ to "vocal" so it doesn't bother my wife inside the house. I can definitely recommend this.

Not sure how JBL was able to get more bass and a better overall sound compared to the legacy model, and ditched the proprietary charging cable.

Awesome Sound

I heard the boombox 2 at a big box store but they were out of stock so I ended up with a Sony xg500, the GF didn't like the sound so I went searching for the boombox 2 or 3 and came across the 3 here at Crutchfield. I'm so glad I went for it even though it's quite expensive. The sound is truly amazing, not just for a portable BT speaker, but for some home audio systems as well. The bass isn't just present, you feel it through the volume range with no distortion. The highs and mids are why we returned the Sony XG500, but the boombox 3 , with it's new tweeter design, represents them very well. Considering this box is so full of bass you'd expect the highs and mids to be drowned out. Not so on the boombox 3, they are represented clearly. And, it gets LOUD, I haven't even maxed it out, we use this outside so it would definitely wake up some neighbors. We listen to mostly heavy music like Disturbed, Godsmack etc and it's great. I do like the design, while big and heavy, the handle is very sturdy and toting this around is pretty easy. I also like the charging cord, gone are the big block chargers like on a laptop, it's just a cord. The companion app could be better though, the eq really does very little and there is no battery percentage, just a bar. All in all, it's a great speaker and so worth the money in my mind. It's out of stock everywhere currently but when available, don't hesitate.
