JBL Club 1224

Works great! The sound is clear and the bass output is loud, deep, and punchy (is in a ported box at 500w). You do need to make sure its lpf is set to its maximum higher frequency response or below because I did get a smell from it when it was set to 200 hz. Otherwise, this is a great sub and more bang than buck! Wish JBL made a new spl sub to replace the discontinued W12gti
Pros: loud
Cons: none

Clean east install. Although not marine rated, installed on a 22' wake boat. Sounds great in 0.75 cu.ft. box.

JBL sub upgrade

I'm a bit biased because I'm a JBL fanboy. Regardless, I listen to rock & heavy metal loud & I've never blown a JBL speaker. My Charger has 4 JBL 6x9's that I just bought here on Crutchfield last year & this sub purchase was an upgrade of an older JBL 12 using the same amp & the improvement is SUBSTANTIAL. My car shakes a lot more now. I even dialed back the gains on my amps for a little cleaner sound. Since I installed this sub I actually have a use for the bass volume adjustment knob I installed to turn the bass down which I really like. I never used that volume knob before but now I do every day & it's ready to go when I'm ready to crank it up. As far as I'm concerned I'd give it 6 stars but 5 is the most we have here. The only way I could be happier is if this sub had been free.

Separated

Great sounding sub, but after a short time and not pushed hard the glue separated. Crutchfield immediately sent out a new one. Just hope this one holds together.
Pros: Price,features, and sound
Cons: Quality

I just installed 2 of these in my 1983 Datsun 280zx and it's a fairly small hatchback car. These things SMACK I love loud bass but I actually can't listen to a full song with these things turned all the way up. My door panels on the outside look like water ripples when these things are going, my mirror bends down when they hit. I've been in cars with triple the wattage that aren't as loud as these. It doesn't make sense at all. If your stuck on these wondering if they will be loud enough for you. trust me you will be happy.
Pros: Loud as hell
Cons: No screws or hardware

JBL Club Subwoofer!!!
jose from MAYAGUEZ, PR on 7/6/2020
Have been a fan of Harman Kardon products for a long time. Have infinity kappas( for more than 7 years still sounding good) two way speaker in the front doors and cargo area and smaller jbl club in the dash, was using an old Kenwood 12 inch sub and was time for a new one. I searched for the Infinity Reference and found this JBL that had the same specs (same speaker) but was on sale. "What a difference in sound" Currently using a 300watts Rockford fosgate mono amp in 2ohm load and Sound Ordenance sealed box. Hard hitting loud precise bass. Very happy with this purchase rediscovering my old rock albums!
Pros: Nice clean and hard hitting bass sound in a small box 2 or 4 ohm load switch
Cons: None so far
