Used in an 07' Element to replace the blown out front kick speakers. Installed without the crossovers and tweeters (for now) because some Elements have an airbag installed in pillar with the tweeters. The guide to cut and install the speakers was clear and accurate. Overall sound is a huge improvement.
Pros: Quick to install Sound great Only minor modification to install

They sound great. Original door speakers in my 2002 GMC Sierra were still working but didn't have any foam left around the speaker. Was surprised they still omitted sound. The JBL's sound great. I updated the factory stereo to a single din radio. It sound great with my Infinity sun that I installed way back. So far I am happy with them and would recommend.

2006 BMW 3 Series with HK Audio... Absolute garbage. Crackling, popping, distortion anytime I started to turn up the volume. I believe that these speakers just can't work with the OEM radio/amp. OEM speakers, while not as responsive, get A LOT louder with better bass. Note, Crutchfield's techs don't seem to know about this either.

Solid speaker set. I replaced the factory speakers up front in my 2012 Tacoma and it made a huge difference even with the bottom tier factory head unit. I would definitely get some sort of sound deadening mats for the install as these speakers put out a good amount of bass for their size. Good value.

Blown away in a good way!
Correy from ST THOMAS, VI on 6/19/2023
Replacing my 20 year old stock speaker was uneventful with the supplied accessories that crutchfield.com provide free of charge. I paired the speakers and adapters some silicone rubber baffles to direct all the forward sound through the OEM grilles. I also paired this set of components with a set of 6×9 coaxials in the rear. I am pleasantly surprised with my purchase. I have another identical vehicle with the same head unit but different brand speakers. This gave me the best opportunity to compare the performance of these entry level JBLs. Listening to the same thumb drive between both cars the JBLs play louder at a lower volume setting. The silicone rubber baffles as well as the lower frequency range ability produce lower notes than my setup in the other car. I could be satisfied with the sound I am getting from the deck power.... it is more than loud enough without an amp. Now I am curious to see the improvement in sound with some added power
Pros: Relatively easy fitment like advertised.
Cons: I consider this to be intermediate skill for installation. You need to plan put what you are doing and get all the supplies ready to have a clean install.

Crutchfield customer from Benton, AR on 4/15/2023
Good speakers for the money. However, the installation was not nearly as "plug and play" as I was lead to believe by Chase. None of the wiring connections were correct. For example , the wire leads from the tweeters would not connect to the crossovers right out of the box. Consequently, I had to borrow a car, drive to a store to purchase an electrical connector kit and speaker wire and then proceed to replace almost every wire end since I had already removed both door panels and the old speakers on the driveway.
Pros: Good speakers for the money
Cons: Every aspect of the installation including the expert.

Hard Install
Crutchfield customer from Jonestown, PA on 1/2/2023
2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Installed in 2013 Ford Fusion, which stated would fit. This was not an easy install, I would caution against buying a component system unless you have done this before. Additional items needed for install which Crutchfield did not include were extra terminal ends and speaker wire. The door speakers require Metra mounting rings which were sent to me, however, my box was missing mounting screws. Tweeters did not fit at all and I was told by Crutchfield technical service that blackstraps or glue is used to get them to stay in the door. Instructions from JBL on how to wire the door speakers, crossover and tweeters were absolutely horrible. Crutchfield master sheet was great in speaker removal. JBL needs to improve instructions drastically. Metra speaker harness from Crutchfield had to be cut to work, which was directed by adviser. I had to figure out where to mount crossover where the door panel would still go back on and clear it. I will say that Crutchfield customer service is the best, however this install was not a great product for my car. So far speakers do sound much better than factory speakers.
Pros: Sound
Cons: Hard Install

Awesome bass improvement
Spencer from Sellersville, PA on 12/24/2022
These are awesome! The woofers kick great in my 2017 rav4 that had the factory jbl system. I didn't use the tweeters as I had 3 1/2 inch speakers in the dash. I mostly got these because the coaxial speakers I had gotten up front were being heated by the factory amp trying to only play bass notes through them since it was originally designed that way. Best thing that happened though as I'm super happy with the way it turned out!!
Pros: Great bass Easy to install Jbl quality

The level of improvement these made of the basic stock is incredible. They are so well suited to use the available power of the factory head unit they made a significant change in the sound output. Excellent at this price point.

2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
I ordered these JBL speakers as factory replacements that were blown and buzzing driving me absolutely nuts! After receiving the shop installation instructions and these speakers I proceeded to begin the swap. Super easy installation, the Metra harnesses made the job a breeze. The sound from these far exceed the factory speakers, deep rich bass and crisp highs. I will be purchasing replacements for the rear doors after the first of 2023, Highly recommended for anyone who has a Ford Fusion (2013 and on) without the Sony sound system. Another item, get a 5.5mm socket, Ford uses these for the door handle anchor point.
Pros: Easy installation with the shop notes provided by Crutchfield, comes with adapter rings, hardware and harness
Cons: Not Crutchfields issue, but get the 5.5mm socket to remove the door handle bolts or you will be struggling

A Swing and a Miss
Crutchfield customer from Gretna, LA on 10/11/2022
2012 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger
Well built but came with no speaker wire nor grills. Not sure why I did not see this important deficiency when I ordered. Grills are a must. Normally I don't care for the small gauge speaker wire that is usually included. However, the speakers utilize the (-) terminal that is half the size. A regular female spade terminal won't work for that, necessitating a solder connection. The tweeter wires are too short and their wire terminals won't work on the crossover lugsmaking most mounting setups requiring that the wiring is extended. If just connecting a coaxial speaker, the OEM wiring already has those connectors. The woofer will fit in the OEM NCV3 Mercedes-Benz mid and rear panel cutouts with some slight modification. Mounting holes for woofer different diameter/alignment. However, the speaker is surface mount and cannot be recessed mount (from behind panel), as the OEM woofers are. The sliding door gives little clearance when it opens. Not much more headroom to put a thick grill on. Furthermore, the rear speaker is in the pathway to the rear bench seat on passengers. Sticking out can cause it to be damaged by people and bags. The tweeters require the most work. You have to use the OEM plastic grill. Remove OEM tweeter, put JBL tweet in its surface mount holder. Then lay it the backside of the grill to mark what needs to be removed with Dremel tool. Glue in place with construction adhesive and it will attach to the wall panel just like before.
Pros: - Quality materials - Good for doors - Have not tested, but sounds crisp and clean so far.
Cons: - No grills - No speaker wire - Tweeter wire too short and wrong terminals for crossover

I had installed these as part of an entirely new system (amp, receiver, sub) and they all blew within a year. I had triple checked my install, and later had a respected audio installer confirm that it was simply the speakers that blew. I don't listen to music crazy loud, I just wanted great sound at a fair price, and honestly these were never as good as some cheaper speakers I've used in the past. Crutchfield had great service, but were unable to replace them as they were outside my warranty window, and JBL has the absolute worst customer service I've experienced. I'd spend my money on a different product.

A good factory upgrade for anyone who doesn't want to deal with an amp
Mike from Sartell, MN on 10/10/2021
2018 Hyundai Elantra
Installed in 2018 Hyundai Elantra with the factory 7" radio and no amplifier. Rear doors have 2 way Concert Series installed and the front doors only had the woofers from this set installed. After reading several reviews I decided not to install the tweeters due to a number of complaints about their harshness and durability. The original tweeters are still in place. Foam speaker rings and speaker gasket tape were used to improve the quality of mids/lows. Overall this was definitely an improvement over the factory paper speakers. This is not a life-altering sound experience but it is now at the level where I can tell when a lower quality file is playing vs a higher quality file. There is also a pretty significant difference between FM and HD radio which went largely unnoticed on the factory system. Highs are pretty much unchanged but are (slightly) improved given that the rear door speakers were changed from paper woofers to 2 way speakers. Mids/lows are significantly more clear. The sound is sharper and they do a better job of delivering an actual thump; not enough to satisfy a bass enthusiast but the mirrors definitely vibrate more than they used to. Even with the extra lows you will still need a subwoofer to handle lower bass. The Concert Series perform well and are fairly priced for what they deliver. If you don't want to mess around with an amp and just want a simple upgrade from the factory speakers this is the way to go.
Pros: Improved clarity, works perfect with the factory radio, no amp required for good sound.
Cons: Lots of negative reviews for the tweeters in this set. No personal experience, I didn't even bother to install them after reading all of the complaints.

Pros: Very loud and great bass for price! Work amazing and easy to set up
Cons: The tweeters blew fast

NOT FOR CHRYSLER/JEEP
Crutchfield customer from Olathe, KS on 1/18/2021
I purchased these on a recommendation from a Crutchfield rep. I have always had really good luck with Crutchfield reps and their equipment but this was awful!! After a full day of installation, because the tweeter needed custom brackets made...the sound absolutely sucked. All mid/low range and no high range. After a week of emails and phone calls working with Crutchfield techs. It was determined that nothing could be done and due to the stock receiver/radio (Chrysler/Jeep), these would never work. So, I had to uninstall, and still working the re-install of the factory speakers, because the plastic connectors were damaged when I took them out. Had to find them locally and buy used ones. This whole experience has been a nightmare. These are on their way back to Crutchfield and awaiting my full refund. Note to Crutchfield - DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE SPEAKERS TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH CHRYSLER/JEEP RECEIVERS!!

Cons: Not for Chrysler/Jeep Wish they would not have recommended these

Bought these to perk up the sound in my 2017 Honda Civic. These are much better than the factory speakers by far. I had to glue in the tweeters to the stock location, but it worked well. Overall, the sound and clarity improved dramatically. Great speakers, reasonable price and nice improvement in clarity. Highly recommend these JBLs!

C5 audio upgrade
Crutchfield customer from Northfield, OH on 10/5/2020
2002 Chevrolet Corvette
Upgraded the door speakers in a C5 Corvette convertible. Was hard to hear good music with the top down at high speeds. Not anymore. These 601CFs did the job. They sound amazing and crystal clear. I paired them with an amp and couldn't be happier. I will be adding a crossover soon to bring more out of them.
Pros: Sound 100 times better than the factory speakers. The highs are great and the mid-bass is deeper than I was expecting. Easy to install with the right adaptor and instructions from Crutchfield.
Cons: The wires on the tweeter could have been longer and the connection at the end of the wire does not fit the crossover terminals.

The tweeters are tinny sounding so used the Polks. The midrange are not sound as good as the the sound from the blown Polk, but they are in a diesel truck so they sound OK. Now that they have been in the truck for a month I don't remember the difference in the sound.
Pros: Price
Cons: Not top quality sound

Lots of Speaker for the Money
NIKOLAOS from St John, IN on 9/16/2020
2002 GMC Sonoma
These are an excellent buy for their intended use, which I take to be replacement (if you have a stock component system) or upgrade (if you have stock coaxial speakers or worse). They are not extreme performance speakers, but then they don't pretend to be, nor do they carry the hefty price tag of the really high-end components. In my case, I had factory-installed component speakers in my 2002 Sonoma and I would rate these as comparable to them in sound quality but higher in build quality. The stock (Delco) amplifier, no powerhouse, is able to drive them adequately. Installation of the woofers was simple; the tweeters were more difficult and Crutchfield gave me fair warning they wouldn't fit in my vehicle "as is". Actually, they will fit with a bit of work which is what I was banking on. I made simple (flat) adapters from sheet metal that allowed the tweeters to be installed in the same location the factory units were using the supplied housing and hardware, and with the stock grilles. (Note: some vehicles like mine have 4 x 6 speakers in the dash instead of tweeters, and fitting the tweeters there would be more difficult but certainly possible). I fit the crossovers inside the dashboard using velcro strips, but they could also be located in the door. Bottom line: these are excellent entry-level component speakers offered at a very attractive price that should work with your stock amplifier.

Pretty good quality, but not a perfect fit for a 2004 Land Cruiser
Crutchfield customer from Seabrook, TX on 9/2/2020
2004 Toyota Land Cruiser
The sound quality is similar to the stock speakers. After reading reviews that the tweeters sound a bit harsh, I decided not to install both the tweeters and crossovers. I'll save them in case the original tweeters blow out. As for installation of the woofers, the biggest issue is that the four holes in the new woofer don't line up with the holes in the plastic factory mounting bracket. I made it work by using the original screws with some washers. The washers are essentially clamping down the woofer. We will see how this holds up over time. I couldn't filigree our a feasible way to use the clips and screws that were provided by Crutchfield.

The tweeters on this set of speakers are incredibly hot. Too hot in fact, even with the crossover adjustment switch set at it's lowest level. Granted, I'm using a factory receiver on a 2001 GMC Yukon (non-Bose). But I literally have to turn the treble gain level all the way down in order to get relief and even make them bearable to listen to.

The JBL 601cf is a fantastic budget friendly option. They sound good even being powered from a factory radio, my only gripe with the kit is the crossovers, the tweeters are really bright and not being able to tone it down just a bit is a real bummer. Other then that the set is perfect for my needs.

Great Speakers
Crutchfield customer from Littleton, CO on 7/23/2020
2006 Toyota Highlander
These JBL's are reasonably priced and sound excellent. I installed them in a 2006 Toyota Highlander Limited with a factory JBL sound system. They were very easy to install. They fit right onto the existing brackets and so I did not need to use the free brackets or wire harnesses that came with the speakers. It's a good thing because the brackets wouldn't have lined up correctly and the harnesses were not compatible. It would have needed a lot of modifications. I kept the existing tweeters and did not have to install the crossover. That too would have been a challenge if I tried to install the tweeters. Everything sounds as good as the original setup.
Pros: Great sound and easy to install in my vehicle.
Cons: Could be a challenge to install in some vehicles.

Very Impressed

2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I was going to purchase 2 way speakers for my doors but I decided to try these component speakers out. I wanted sound quality even if it would be more difficult to achieve. I ran new speaker wire from the head unit to the door instead of trying to splice into the wiring for the factory speaker and tweeter. I used the template on the box to mark new screw holes for the speakers. My stock speakers were mounted with a plastic bracket that clips in (no screws). The stock tweeters are mounted next 1 inch above the door speakers. I didn't like this location, so I mounted the tweeters on the A-pillars using the included hardware. I did have to run new wire to the crossovers but that wasn't a big deal. I put everything back together and turned the head unit on. I didn't expect the sound quality to be as good as it was. Loud and crisp with no distortion. I had to order another set of JBL Concerts for the rear doors after I heard the front speakers.

Well..... if theses were $50.00 or under I would of given 4 or 5 star. Was not overly impressed with cheesy 1st order crossover Granted better than none. I installed in front door of 2012 Silverado crew cab and made my own 2nd order crossover and decided not to use tweeters. The woofers in a left door JBL and right door o.e. comparison Won the clarity test but lost low frequency test fortunately I'm going to install a sub. Perhaps JBLs do better in smaller doors?? I had to add foam tape to front and rear of adapter bracket for sealing and vibration of which I highly recommend and the screws included made it difficult to install so I swapped out with shorter ones. I included pics of the rear door speaker install ,I had some old Kenwood's I altered o.e. speaker/bracket combo to install and made my own 2nd order crossover for both speakers in the Kenwood's and snuck behind bracket ,these hands down did a better job than the JBLs overall ....just saying, and thought it help someone else seeing it done. So..... I don't recommend these if your not running a sub for lower frequency's and again perhaps they hit harder/lower in smaller doors??? I'm gonna use them hopefully they last , ....and as always I appreciate free install gear and great customer service from CRUTCHFIELD. Wayne
Pros: Included install gear and clear sound.
Cons: Pricy for what they are

Sound great for lower powered amps
George from Dallas, PA on 2/22/2020
2020 Hyundai Kona
I bought these speakers because of the high sensitivity and low impedance- 3 ohms. I wasn't sure if I was going to install a better amp to my 2020 Hyundai Kona, so I wanted speakers that would give me maximum bang for the buck with my low wattage standard head unit. These speakers were a definite improvement over the standard speakers but I later decided I still wanted more power/volume so I installed a Kicker PXA 300.4 4 channel amp that is rated at appr. 62 watts per channel @3 ohms. The speakers (along with the JBL Concert Series 621F I installed in the rear door panels) sounded loud and great with the new amp. However, when I cranked the amp up too high, it would cut out for 5 seconds, going into protect mode. After confirming the amp was getting enough power and grounded properly, I attributed the cutting out to the amp overpowering these speakers, which are only rated at 50 watts RMS and the rear speakers which are only rated at 45 watts. When playing loud for prolonged periods I could smell the odor of burned electronics which was coming from the rear speakers. I think the amp sensed this and that is what puts it into protect mode. Although these (the front speakers) didn't emit the burnt smell, the amp still cut out when the fader was set to only the front. I am probably going to upgrade these speakers in the near future to speakers that can handle more power, but these do sound really powerful and loud. 5 stars if you don't use an amp that overpowers them.
Pros: Sound great and are loud.
Cons: Not power rated high enough for my amp.

Honda Accord Touring Hybrid speaker swap
Brian from DICKINSON, TX on 12/8/2019
2019 Honda Accord Hybrid
I installed these in the front doors of a Honda Accord Touring Hybrid with the 10-speaker "premium" audio. The Malibu Premier with the 8-speaker Bose was set up full Treble 3/4 mids and 5/8ths bass in the settings. The stock speakers in the Honda was set up almost full on all four settings Treble, mids, bass and subwoofer and it still didn't sound like the Malibu's Bose. I changed out the center channel too, but I think I got the most improvement out of these speakers. The highs are much better and doesn't sound as shrill. Mid bass was vastly improved, but I think that was also contributed to using the NVX silicone speaker baffle with included foam pad stuck to the inner door behind the speaker. I didn't install the included crossover as all 10 channels are powered and didn't need to link the components via a crossover unless I amplify it later. So far I like it exactly the way it is and intend to keep it stock amplified. And there's the whole challenge of working audio in a hybrid and keeping the whole setup 30 amps or less combining all components. The speaker swap doesn't draw any more power than the older speakers, so I could add a decent sub if I intend to go that way.
Pros: Night and day difference, most bang for the buck
Cons: None so far.

Perfect replacement fit for OEM speakers. Recommended installation accessories were spot on. Great sound, easy install. Factory speakers went bad after only a few years. Unfortunate design flaw on Suburbans are that the left front speaker manages ALL interior sounds- door/seatbelt chimes, low fuel indicator, etc. We put up without those chimes for nearly a decade because shifty car stereo shops kept trying to push a complete set of speakers totaling over $400.
