JBL Flip 6

Decent sound but advertised as 12 hour battery life.. I understand that's probably an estimate and dependent on playing time but seems like the one I received might have issues. I'm charging it more often than the speaker I had before. I should have done more research but I thought with the reviews that were posted on this jbl it would be a good purchase. What was good is doing business with Crutchfield hassle free ordering and carry a good variety of items.

TOP HEAVY????????

- 1 Star for being a Rolly Polly! The thing wants to ROLL frontwards or Backwards when I set it Down??? Is this me? Or What? The sound is ok, it sounds good, I have 2 Small Bose Bluetooth speakers and this hang with them alright. Has an App that gives you a "Little" adjustment It can be stood up on end but not the correct way to listen to it because you block a Speaker's Sound. Absolutely NO HELPFUL INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL?? Mine Has an Orange Bar with an Arrow pointing one way that I can't figure out what it's for or what it means??? Again, No help with the Quick Start Sheet. Leaves you with a Figure it out on your own Fella kind of feeling.

Great sound, don't expect to get 12 hours of battery life

The good: Ordering from Crutchfield is always a great experience. The speaker itself sounds fantastic, has great freq. range, solid bass, and good clarity for such a small package. The disappointing: The battery life is no where near 12 hours! Maybe if you are listening on super low volume indoors - but if you are using it outdoors, at the beach, etc and have it turned up, you'll be lucky if you get 4-6 hours from it before the battery dies. I charged it upon receiving it when new a few weeks ago and now have been using it multiple days each week over the past few week when I am working outside in my yard. I am outdoors so I do have the volume turned up - past 1/2 - but no where near max. My wireless play time has been between 4 and 6 hours TOTAL each time, before the battery dies. USB charging is done overnight on a Panamax power conditioner and the speaker displays a full charge in the morning before use. Seeing that this product is specifically advertised as a portable/wireless speaker for the outdoors - as noted frequently in the product description - I don't feel that I'm using the product outside its normal, expected, and advertised use. I find the "up to 12 hours" of battery life statement pretty disingenuous and also misleading to customers - as most people are probably going to get no where near 12 hours of battery life from this if they are using outdoors with the volume up.

Compact, good battery life

Satisfied. Expected a little more dynamic sound, but it is pleasing, easy to connect, excellent battery life. Mono sound unless you get two.

The JBL Flip 6 is excellent. It pairs easily, and the app allows equalization and adjustment of the levels. The bass is powerful. Overall, I'm very pleased with the speaker. Hope my neighbors like my taste in music!

OUTSTANDING!

Better than Anticipated

Small footprint BIg Sound

Small print Big Sound. Bought to take on my bass boat rather than install a stereo to drain batteries. It is ez to store and sounds. great cell phone a sirius app and I can enjoy music all day.

Great for the price

I was very surprised of the sound this little speaker puts out. It doesn't have the bass to be bumping things around but it does FILL the room without it being just treble. It's a solid, little, portable speaker.

The Sound Quality Will Surprise You

I was comparing the Sonos Roam, Bose Soundlink Flex, and JBL Flip 6. I chose the JBL because of its reputation, ruggedness, sound quality, and simplicity. JBL has a great reputation, so that was an easy reason. I really like the ruggedness of the speaker. The ends are rubber, which is probably where it will hit 90% of the time I drop it, and the fabric covering makes scuffs less noticeable. Once I received it and let it charge for a bit, I turned it on to listen to the sound quality. I wasn't disappointed at all! It sounds great in a moderate size room and outside, the sound travels nicely. The highs and lows are well balanced. There is a sweet spot for the sound and once you get 75%, it starts to lose its great sound. The passive radiators are going crazy which causes some distortion. I definitely recommend downloading the JBL Portable app because it will help with adjusting the sound quality as well as the volume, from your phone. It's very portable. The cylindrical shape fits comfortably in your hand and there is a lanyard too. It pairs very quickly with my phone and, even at high volumes, the battery seems to be pretty close to the 10+hr mark. The range was a surprise. I can move it around my house and outside and still maintain a clear connection.

JBL BT speakers rock

I bought The Boombox 2 from Crutchfield 2 years ago and was blown away but I needed something smaller for a small camper. This Flip 6 packs a punch for the size. If you don't have restrictions on size I highly recommend the Boombox 3. It's worth the price difference.

Not Impressed

While it is loud for its size, sound quality gets flat when you start increasing the volume and the JBL Portable App does not offer enough equalizer function to adjust this. Also, I have not been lucky enough to get 12 hours of battery life. So far, the longest playing time I've had is 7 hours.

Small device, big sound.

I bought the Flip 6 to bring with us for music listening while enjoying outdoor summer activities. I have been listening to music at home for years via various "high-end" audio systems and was really impressed with the sound quality of this little device. Christmas Present

I bought this as a Christmas present for my nephew, so it's too soon for a review. I have one myself. The sound is awesome from something so small. The tweeters sing and the bass is driving. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a Bluetooth portable speaker.

Good Upgarde from Flip 3

I bought the JBL Flip 6 to replace my Flip 3. I'm glad I did so. The Flip 6 has greater range and volume. It seems to connect far quicker and easier than the Flip 3. I'm glad I made the purchase. (I did not compare the Flip 6 to similar products on the market.)

JBL Flip 6 impressions

I replaced my JBL Flip 4 with the newer Flip 6 because reviews I had read indicated a richer, better balanced sound. This proved to be true, along with somewhat better detail. I downloaded the JBL app for this product and utilized the equalizer function and the sound is now noticeably better than my Flip 4. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Flip 6.

Good for it's size.

Definitely not an audiophile speaker but amazing for its size. I got it for my daughter who decided to keep it even though it stutters when streaming Spotify through her Android phone. This was using our home WIFI. We haven't tested it out using data and I haven't tried changing any settings in the phone. I found it lacking upper midrange. When I put it on a harder surface and pointed the end at me it was easier to hear the lyrics.
