Great sub will not disappoint
Charles from Harvest, AL on 1/3/2025
A very good front firing subwoofer. I also have a SVS1000 and this JBL 650P in some ways is better. It seems to have a little lower response. It does seem to have a little more resonance around 250 Hz but that is to be expected with any ported sub. It still has plenty power (maybe not as much as the SVS) and works well with a surround system in movie mode. It's also one of the few subs that has an attractive finish where it might be seen. This was a scratch and dent model and crutchfield may have packed it better than it was originally. There were no scratches and dents I could find.
Pros: Sounds really good, looks fantastic, plenty of power you can feel. Very good low response.
Cons: Typical responses of ported enclosures

JBL Studio 650P

Booming bass, great control with crossover and convenient LFE cable connectivity.
Pros: Convenient LFE compatibility Good bass clarity and control
Cons: Wish the crossover dial had a label for 80hz. You just have to eyeball it between the two labeled numbers of 50 and 150hz.

JBL Studio 650P

I just opened the Crutchfield shipping box and the JBL box. I carefully unpacked the subwoofer. Upon visual and physical inspection of the subwoofer, I have to say that I am greatly disappointed with the rubber feet attached to the bottom of the subwoofer. It appears that during factory assembly of the rubber feet, the wood screws have stripped the MDF material and thus the rubber feet are loose. Three of the four wood screws also have the screw drive heads stripped. I am a mechanical engineer for 30 years. There is no excuse for the quality, design and assembly of these rubber feet and spikes. My actual review is zero stars. I have not hooked up the subwoofer to evaluate sound quality.

JBL woofer superb
William from Salisbury, MD on 5/18/2024
Great sounding sub. Also, has more fine tuning adjustments than my old one which was 23yrs old. I highly recommend this model.
Pros: Provides an excellent bass sound without blowing the windows out.
Cons: Very heavy weight, but that's the nature of subwoofers.
