About the JBL Stage 260CDT

Stereo sound from a single speaker
Stereo sound from a single speaker
JBL's Stage 260CDT speaker features a versatile in-ceiling design that lends itself well to custom installations in smaller rooms and awkward spaces like hallways. It uses a stout woofer and two acoustically optimized tweeters to deliver exceptional detail and accuracy in your tunes. Best of all, since it has stereo inputs, you'll hear both channels of a stereo mix from a single speaker mounting location.
High-performance drivers
The 260CDT has twin 3/4" aluminum dome tweeters that are equipped with an acoustic lens that smooths out their sound. A 6-1/2" polycellulose woofer delivers smooth mids and bass. The drivers are set inside an acoustically optimized baffle that reduces diffraction and other types of sound-muddying distortion.
Designed for easier installation in your ceiling
This speaker uses JBL's XL-2 installation system. The rear legs can attach to ceilings up to 2" thick, giving you plenty of versatility when it comes to placement. Once installed, the included metal, zero-bezel grille seamlessly hides the speaker inside your ceiling.

Stereo Driver Design: Thanks to this in-ceiling speaker's two tweeters and dual inputs, the JBL Stage 2 Series 260CDT can act as a single stereo speaker. Spring Post Terminals: The JBL Stage 2 Series in-ceiling loudspeaker is outfitted with two sets of nickel-plated spring-post terminals to connect to the left & right stereo channels of your stereo receiver or integrated amplifier. In-Ceiling Installation: The Stage 2 Series in-ceiling speaker utilizes JBL's XL-2 bracket system that is suitable for installation in drywall, plywood, and other ceiling material that is 0.5" to 1.75" thick. The XL-2 bracket system's special mechanical grip design minimizes vibration and improves sound reproduction.
- The Stage 2 in-ceiling speaker requires a circular (round) cutout that measures 8.0" (diameter) x 4.125" (depth). The outer dimensions of the speaker 9.25" (diameter) x 0.375" (depth).
- Make sure to allow at least 0.75" between the edge of the cutout and any obstructions behind the ceiling, so the speaker's locking mechanism will have room to engage fully.
