Super Sounding Dialogue!
Matthew T from JACKSONVILLE, FL on 6/15/2025
This center speaker was part of a matched set of JBL Stage speakers purchased as part of a complete home theater system which replaced our first and only system of 23 years. The speakers from that system were Bose Acoustimass 6, where all the speakers including the center, were the small cube type. It was not until we installed the new JBL set that we found out what we were missing in terms of what a center of this type and size was capable of. The difference in the dialogue and sound in general coming from it is quite remarkable!

Great sound for the money
Victor from Owosso, MI on 2/14/2025
I purchased the full Stage 2 System, Stage 280F, Stage 245C, Stage 250B, Stage 240H, and Stage 220P Sub. I was disappointed with the sub (already reviewed that) but the rest of the system is AMAZING for the money. I don't get all the negative reviews on these speakers on other sites; you must set your expectations of a speaker (or system) based on the price you are paying for them. A JBL fan and finally upgrading from the JBL Studio series released in 2000 - which STILL sound great but after 25 years I wanted a change. The Studio S38s were incredible for the time, and all the professional reviews said they competed with speakers costing 5 times the price. But moving on to the new Stage 2s, they sound great. Out of the box, the sound is "meh" at best but once calibrated (I used Audyssey since it's included on my Denon AVR-4800H) they sound incredible for the price. Like my previous JBL Studios, you can crank the volume up and the sound stays clear and distortion free. I considered the Klipsch Reference Premier line as well, since they are in the same "price group", but the JBLs sound more realistic to me, and the Klipsch's were too bright for my taste. Your milage may vary, but if considering getting the full system, I would look elsewhere for a sub, I ended up with the SVS PC-2000 Pro sub and could not be happier!
Pros: Great Sound Able to handle their rated power, without distortion. Attractive Design
Cons: Not really a con, but need calibration, out of the box sound is mediocre.
