Features
2.5-Way Driver Design: The Stage 260F floorstanding loudspeaker employs a 2.5-way driver design that features 1" anodized aluminum dome tweeter with JBL's High-Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide, plus two 6.5" Polycellulose ribbed cone woofers with rubber surround for legendary JBL sound. This unique design crosses over the upper woofer right below the tweeter's output, while the lower woofer is crossed over at a lower frequency. This creates a dynamic mid-range, while still allowing the woofers to extend as deep as they can go for powerful bass. The result is a cohesive balanced output with a robust low end that can be both heard and felt.
- 1" Anodized Aluminum Tweeter with HDI Waveguide: The Stage 260F features a 1" anodized aluminum dome tweeter that is coupled to JBL's High-Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide for a smooth and natural high frequency repose. Through intense research of previous waveguide designs, JBL developed a new complex HDI waveguide geometry that improves directivity and reduces diffraction for better performance both on and off axis. The Stage 2 HDI waveguide is coupled to an anodized aluminum dome tweeter to enhance efficiency and dynamics. This new design offers a neutral frequency response both on and off axis.
- Dual 6.5" Polycellulose Ribbed Cone Woofer: The JBL Stage 260F houses two 6.5" Polycellulose ribbed cone woofers with rubber surround. This pure pulp cone has a proprietary mix of other materials added to it along with a ribbed design to improve its rigidity, so it can produce produce deep, accurate, room filling bass.
Precision Crossover Network: Premium components are used to construct the 2.5-way crossover in the JBL Stage 260F speaker. The high frequency section features air core inductors and mylar capacitors that reduce distortion and improve sonic performance, while the low frequency section includes laminate core inductors and electrolytic capacitors. These premium materials can handle more power and transmit energy faster elevating system performance.
Bass Reflex MDF Cabinet with Magnetic Grille: The JBL Stage 260F floorstanding loudspeaker features a bass reflex (ported) MDF cabinet with wood-grain vinyl finish. The dual rear-firing flared ports features a new flared design to reduce the velocity of the air when exiting the speaker cabinet, eliminating any "chuffing" or coloration of output. The included cloth grille attaches magnetically to the front baffle of the JBL Stage 260F floorstanding loudspeaker.
Optional Toppers: JBL's Stage 240H elevation speaker module (sold separately) mates perfectly with the Stage 260F to add Dolby Atmos to your system for an enhanced listening experience. The Stage 240H elevation speaker module fits perfectly on top of the Stage 260F floorstanding speaker and plugs directly into the Stage 260F's dedicated Dolby Atmos 5-way binding posts to hide any wiring and create a seamless appearance.
5-Way Binding Post Terminals: The JBL Stage 260F is outfitted with three sets of 5-way binding post terminals that will accept barre wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, or banana plugs (single or dual). The three sets of binding post terminals provide connection to your AV receiver's front main channels and height elevation channels, as well as connection to JBL's Stage 240H elevation speaker module (sold separately). If you are not going to be connecting the JBL Stage 240H elevation speaker module, the Stage 260F floorstanding speaker only has to be connected to your AV receiver's front main channels.
Note: The three sets of binding-post terminals do not support bi-amping or bi-wiring.
Mounting Options: The JBL Stage 260F floorstanding speaker comes with a plinth (base) that will screw into the bottom of the speaker cabinet. The plinth (base) features integrated rubber feet for hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile and other hard-surface flooring. Spikes can be screwed into the bottom of the plinth's rubber feet to provide better placement on carpeted flooring.
- Dimensions with Rubber Feet: 12.25" (w) x 40.8125" (h) x 15.125" (d)
- Dimensions with Spike Feet: 12.25" (w) x 41.3125" (h) x 15.125" (d)
Note: For maximum stability and optimal sound, the JBL Stage 260F should always be used with the included plinth (base) and feet installed (rubber or spike).
Applications & Placement: The Stage 260F floorstanding loudspeaker can be used in stereo music applications, or as front and rear speakers in a home theater setup.
- Stereo or Front Channels: For the best results, place a pair of JBL Stage 260F speakers 6' to 10' apart and angle the speakers toward the main listening position for improved stereo imaging. The speakers should form and equilateral triangle with the main listening position. The speakers will produce the most accurate soundstage when the angle between the main listening position and the speakers is between 40 and 60 degrees.
- Surround Channels: When using the Stage 260F as surround speakers, mount them on the side walls slightly behind the main listening position, facing each other. When using Stage 260F as surround back speakers, mount them on the rear wall directly behind the main listening position, facing forward.

The Stage 2 Series consists of two floorstanding loudspeakers (280F / 260F), two bookshelf loudspeakers (250B / 240B), center-channel speaker (245C), and a multi-purpose height/surround speaker (240H), plus two powered subwoofers (220P / 200P) - all sold separately.
