About the JBL Stadium 1000

Bass delivered with style
Amp technology has come a long way since a 1000-watt amp would take up most of your trunk. JBL's Stadium 1000 mono amplifier powers your subwoofer with up to 1,000 watts RMS from a compact chassis that takes up very little space. A low-pass filter clears the way for your sub to play clean, powerful bass, while a bass boost and phase switch help you get the sound just the way you want it. And JBL includes a wired remote control so you can adjust the bass level from the front seat.
Connectivity
This amplifier can accept low- or speaker-level inputs so it'll work in almost any system, and the package includes screw-on RCA-to-bare wire adapters for the speaker-level signal. JBL has also included their electrical anti-rotational locking (E.A.R.L.) ground terminal, for a more conductive and secure ground connection for the amplifier.
The Stadium 1000 sub amp will integrate perfectly and look fantastic in a system that uses the matching JBL Stadium 4 four-channel full-range amplifier.

Features
Power Output: The JBL Stadium 1000 mono amplifier delivers 700 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms, and 1000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. The amp's total peak power is 2600 watts.
Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC voltage on the audio output, over- or under-voltage (<9V or >16V), and short circuits. The LED on the back panel of the amp glows red if the amp goes into protection mode.
Remote Level Control: The Stadium 1000 comes with a rotary Remote Level Control module that lets you control the bass output from a convenient location in the vehicle. A 16.5-foot cable is included.
Controls
Gain: The Stadium 1000's rotary gain control let you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. The maximum input sensitivity of the amplifier 0.2V for a line-level input, and 2V for speaker-level input. The maximum signal level is 20V for the speaker level inputs and 2V for the line-level inputs. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.
Input Level: The Input Level switch should be set to match the type of input signal connected to the amplifier. If using line-level connections, select LO. If using speaker-level inputs, select Hi1 or Hi2. Hi2 contains a special circuit designed to fool a factory audio system to detect a speaker connected to its output, and should be used only if Hi1 doesn't work.
Low Pass Filter: The amp features a non-defeatable low pass filter with a cutoff frequency between 32Hz and 320Hz. The crossover has a 12dB per octave slope. A small screwdriver is required to adjust the frequency.
Bass Boost: The amplifier's Bass Boost circuit is adjustable from 0dB to +9dB, centered at 70Hz. A small screwdriver is required to adjust the bass boost control.
Phase: You can set the subwoofer phase at 0° or 180°. While playing music with lots of bass, slide the phase switch back and forth. Choose the setting that provides more bass. If there is little difference, leave the switch at 0°.
Auto Turn-on: If your stereo does not have a "Remote Out" wire, you can set the amplifier to automatically turn on when it detects a speaker level signal on the input. If you are connecting a remote turn-on lead, the switch should be left in the "off" position.
Connections
Terminals: The JBL Stadium 1000 uses set screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head screwdriver (not provided).
Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept up to 4-gauge wire. It is recommended that you use a minimum of 4 AWG power wire to the battery, with an in-line 100A fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. A 4 AWG ground wire (minimum) is also recommended, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.
E.A.R.L. Terminal: An Electrical Anti-Rotational Locking (E.A.R.L.) terminal is provided for the ground wire. The terminal is designed for 1/0 AWG ground wire, and requires a large crimping tool to secure the wire. The terminal includes 3 screws to attach the terminal to your vehicle's metal chassis.
Remote Turn-On: The Remote set screw terminal will accept up to 8 AWG wire. Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.
Power/Ground Adapter: If you wish to use power and ground wire larger than 4 AWG, you can use the included plug-in adapter. The adapter has posts that insert into the +12V, REM, and GND terminals and offers 1/0 AWG power and ground terminals. An 18 AWG screw terminal for the remote turn-on wire is also provided.
Speaker Outputs: The amp features screw terminals for connecting two subwoofers. The terminals are wired internally in parallel. The amplifier's minimum speaker impedance is 2 ohms.
Line-Level Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with a pair of RCA inputs for connecting a stereo RCA patch cable from the head unit to the amp.
Speaker-Level Input: The amp includes two speaker-level adapters (bare wire-to-RCA) for connecting the amp to a factory radio or aftermarket head unit. You should insert the left and right speaker wires from the head unit into the adapters and plug the adapters into amp's RCA inputs.
Remote Level Control: An RJ-25 modular "phone" jack is provided for connecting the Remote Level Control cable.
