A better upgrade than I expected!

Let me start by saying that I doubt that I'm giving this subwoofer it's full RMS power. That said, I have a 2011 Honda CR-Z EX. At the moment, I'm powering this subwoofer from the factory amplifier. I tapped into it through the factory sub connector wires !making sure the factory sub remains unplugged! As for the enclosure, I built a ported box for it but I think I oversized it. The box is around 2 cu ft; probably somewhat less. (Sorry that I can't be specific. The box is like half of a non-uniform octagonal pyramid, with a flat top. It's very difficult for me to measure/calculate.) It has way more low-end output than the factory sub! I'm surprised and impressed by the fact that it can shake my rearview mirror so much that it's unusable when loud bass notes play. I did measure it in the car and recorded 106 dB at 26 Hz, 108 dB at 34 Hz, and 110 dB at 60 Hz (I don't have complete confidence in my measuring equipment though). As for how it sounds, without trying to give specifics, it doesn't sound quite the same as the factory (sealed) sub. Though, I think it sounds nice in a different way; it doesn't sound "cheap" to me. Also, no, it's not an SPL monster but it's an awesome upgrade over the factory sub. There's just the issue of it taking up half of my cargo area ??.

Pros: Loud with my factory amp; sounds nice; much more low-end bass than factory sub (probably louder bass period); nice materials; cosmetically nice; speaker gasketing tape included

Cons: Flimsy connections tabs, 1 tab broke (-1 star); hole size on box too big
