JBL Car Audio = No Bueno

I don't enjoy bashing anything, but I believe people need to understand where this dual 12" loaded sub system stands against the other enclosures Crutchfield sells on this website. It's nowhere near what two 12's should sound like. Point blank: This is the most disappointing loaded sub system money can buy. I have owned 8's, 10's, 12's and 15's from JL Audio, Kicker, Rockford, SKAR, and Eclipse. These JBL's are the worst sounding and performing woofers I have ever owned. A single entry level JL Audio W0 10 (CP110-W0v3 / $199) hits 2 times harder than both of these 12's using the same 500/1 amp. My dual Kicker CompC 10's (50DCWC102 / $349) hit 3-4 times harder with the same 500/1 amp. Don't even get my started with any of the loaded sub systems SKAR sells. Those are on a completely different level. Do not buy this system over anything from JL Audio, Kicker, Rockford, Alpine, etc. because they're awful. A single 10 in a slot ported box with a 250/1 watt amp from any of the big names in car audio will absolutely wipe the floor with these 12's. Now, they do hit relatively well with extremely deep bass songs that are intended for subwoofer tests. It's a very small range from roughly 40-60hz. Nothing lower or higher than that. And the excursion capabilities are almost non existent. If you listen to hip hop, rock, alternative, country, or electronic - they sound like there's almost nothing at all in your trunk. I will never purchase anything from JBL again.

Hits pretty hard still breakin them in though not as good as a 4ohm dual voice coil but they paired pretty good with my 1 jl 2ohm 12"

Overall Pretty Good

For 250 this is a very good sub. The bass packs a good punch definitely worth buying.

Love it!!

Hits hard and sounds clean. Paired with a alpine mono block amp and it gives more base then I'll ever need!

Still good one year later...

Had these a year now. Bass still hits hard and extremely satisfied with the subs. If your looking for affordable bass this is it. If your into competition subs this is not it. You can hear the subs hitting aka "Dirty bass" but it doesn't bother me. Highly recommend for a budget buy.

Excellent for the money

Very powerful bass for the money. Sound clarity is pretty good but not quite the best. Overall I love them.
