Features

Overview: Jensen JA Series amplifiers offer ample power in a compact form that can fit in tight vehicle spaces. Featuring Jensen's app controlled DSP, setting up and controlling the amplifier can be quickly and easily done from your Bluetooth connected smartphone.

Power Output: The JA5B Class-D, 5-channel amplifier delivers the following power output:

• CTA Compliant Specifications: RMS power output @ 1% THD+N, 20-20kHz, 14.4 VDC:
  • 70 watts x 4 + 225 watts x 1 @ 4-ohms
  • 95 watts x 4 + 380 watts x 1 @ 2-ohms
  • 190 watts x 2 (bridged) @ 4-ohms
• Power Rating: Peak power output @ 10% THD+N:
  • 105 watts x 4 + 390 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms

Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for short circuits, defective speakers, and below-minimum impedance loads. The LED on the top of the amp will light Red if a fault is detected.

App DSP Controls

App Configured DSP: The Jensen JA5B has no hardware controls or adjustments, with all of the amp settings made through your Bluetooth-connected smartphone using the Jensen DSP Amplifier Controller app, available at the Apple App and Google Play stores. After installing the app, simply pair your compatible smartphone to the amplifier and you'll be able to configure the settings. Options include:

• Master Level: An single Master Level rotary slide-control lets you adjust the overall volume from all amp channels; range 0-20. The Master Level screen also includes:
  • Mute: A Mute control to temporarily mute the sound from all channels.
  • EQ Presets: Four preset EQ settings are available for quick sound adjustment - Classic, Pop, Rock, and Jazz, along with a fifth Custom preset that lets you use the 5-band graphic equalizer to fine-tune your sound.
• Crossover: The DSP app features independent crossovers for Channels 1/2, 3/4, and 5. Channels 1/2 and 3/4 can be independently set to LPF, HPF, or Full, while Channel 5 features a LPF filter only. Channels 1/2 and 3/4 LPF and HPF crossover points can be selected from a variable range between 20 Hz and 500 Hz, while Channel 5 has a frequency cutoff range of 20 Hz to 350 Hz. Three slope selections are available for each crossover: 6 dB, 12 dB, and 18 dB per octave. The Crossover screen also provides a Mute button for the selected channels, and a Bass Boost control that provides 0-9 dB of boost at 45 Hz.
• Graphic EQ: A 5-band graphic equalizer can be independently applied to Channels 1&2 and 3&4. Each band has a pre-set frequency range and a level adjustment of +9 to -9dB. A waveform graph displays the EQ curve while making adjustments. Frequency range for each band includes:
  • Band 1: 20-100 Hz
  • Band 2: 100-500 Hz
  • Band 3: 500-5000 Hz
  • Band 4: 5000-10000 Hz
  • Band 5: 10000-16000 Hz
• RGB Control: The JA5B features an RGB LED backlit logo badge on top of the amplifier. A color-wheel in the DSP app lets you select a static color for illumination, as well as options for Multicolor and Animation.

Connections

Power/Ground: +12V Power and Ground connections are made via set-screw terminals, accepting wire up to 4-gauge (8-gauge recommended). The amplifier includes two 40A ATO fuses installed on one end of the chassis.

Remote Turn-On: The Remote set-screw terminal will accept wire up to 12-gauge.

Low-Level Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with three pair of RCA inputs for connecting stereo RCA patch cables from the head unit to the amp.

Speaker-Level Inputs: A 6" harness provides the wire connections for speaker-level input signals, if connecting the amp to a factory radio or aftermarket headunit with no pre-amp outputs. The 4-channel speaker-level input also feeds the subwoofer amplifier.

Speaker Outputs: The amp features five sets of set-screw terminals for connecting your speakers. Channels 1/2 and 3/4 output terminals can be bridged for running high-power speakers or subwoofers. The terminals will accept speaker wire up to 12-gauge.
